@MadisonMolly2017 There are online yoga classes? This sounds interesting, would you have any links to good ones?
I'm finally checking in for he first time this month, it's been pass days so far, I've been away for a long weekend in Paris.
Exercise has happened, Saturday was the big day with 39,000 steps up and down the Seine between tourist attractions (daughter was miffed that I made her walk up the steps of the Eiffel Tower rather than get the lift, but also pleased that she had).
Tracking didn't happen, I logged my '2500 cals, I'm on holiday' meal.
Did I go over on calories eaten? Highly likely, though a large breakfast did mean daytime eating was confined to one pastry rather than an extra meal. Evening meals weren't too bad.
Back to the grind today though.8 -

Exercise yes
Lots of exercise today. Met my step and stairs goal.
Calories yes
Was going to have a planned pass day. However I did not eat much earlier in the day. Was able to make good choices eating out. Today my husband and I had a goal realized that was worthy of a celebration.
Tracked yes
Meditating on the beauty of creation and giving honor and credit to the one that created it brings me joy. Finding something special in each day, whether it's a hug from a special friend, a loving glance from my dear husband or just a what's app from our daughter living in another country saying she though about us. My sweet doggies, flowers and beautifulI scenery....live sunsets
This was taken from my porch8 -

Tracked?: Yes
Calories?: Yes.
Exercised?: Yes.
45 Min Cycle (one deer), Walked with wife taking daughter to tap class and then along coastal path until pickup time (45 mins brisk). Lots of cursing doing DIY on garden gate with my wife, in winter weather and not a balmy spring bank holiday that I wished for. At least the job was done.
@MadisonMolly2017 Thanks for your words.
As I mature I realize the importance of self care, self awareness and managing myself. I can't really believe i didn't understand this when I was younger. Often people arrive in the same place via different routes, for me eating became an comforting distraction when I'm avoiding something because of a fear of failure. So I'm needing to address that fear of failure instead of coping with it by distracting myself. Overeating is far from the only bad habit that I have developed as a coping mechanism. Learning to forgive myself, facing the fear and changing destructive to constructive habits is the path I'm following.
I periodically do Yoga following youtube or via an App, but I have never tried an online class. It's the connectedness of doing something with others that I miss really so I will checkout the link you posted. I've done Tai Chi in the past hence my interest in @fatbambi2017's Quigong, and I'm interested in learning to meditate. At present I am modifying enough habits and building consistency with them that I have given myself permission not try and re-establish or build new habits in this area, but I like to think that I will return to this.
I think you are right about prioritizing something you love, and I have started to do this recently. For my entire life I've put off spending time on a thing I love because I should be doing something else, and then to avoid doing that something I then waste time doing a low value or self destructive activity such as overeating. One of my priorities is to build a daily habit doing something I am passionate about and love doing. I think this also helps to motivate me because I don't want other jobs blocking my time as I have let them in the past.
I admire your artistic drive. I've never been artistic myself (although several family members are) and I realised I wanted to learn to sketch. So I have started to practice, and my daughter (10) likes to join in with me when we have time together. I'd like to practice that daily as well, but I have to make small changes and makes sure that I don't overwhelm myself.
Lets see if I can stick to the UAC.7 -

What brings me joy: So many wonderful things have been mentioned and do bring much joy. What I think of though on a day that I am so happy, no matter who I'm with, is being at the ballpark. I love sitting in the stands on a warm sunny day, watching the players warm up, the stadium fill up and all the fun everyone is having while cheering on their team. Nothing like being at the stadium for a big game when your team is winning too
@w8goal4life beautiful pictures, especially the one with Annie in it
@Ketch_22 Totally agree...….so, so proud of my children and those grandbabies brighten any day and bring true joy to the soul.5 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES! 20 minute walk at work and then went to a Cardinals baseball game and walked a lot!!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES!
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES!
My family and my faith bring me joy! Also, being outside gardening or hiking. Sounds a little odd, but I love sitting on the deck and watching all the birds come to my bird feeders. I get Cardinals, bluebirds, woodpeckers, hummingbirds and a ton more. Just watching them brings me a sense of peace, joy and slows me down for that part of my day! @MadisonMolly2017 thanks for asking the question! I love reading all the responses!!!5 -
@MadisonMolly2017 Thanks for the link earlier in these posts to the online yoga classes. I love yoga and am currently using a Rodney Yee dvd and really like it but need some variety.

@MadisonMolly2017 You post about "what brings you joy" was insightful, thank you. I am happy to learn about how art brings you joy. My art involves fiber, particularly NM wools that I knit, crochet, embroider and enjoy. Some people collect spoons or shot glasses when they travel, I collect yarn.5 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Barely, and because of that I didn't eat an extra taco, something I wouldn't have thought twice about before.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, even though I didn't want to.
My joy - watching my kiddos being themselves - when they don't know I'm watching and they are truly living in the moment. I've learned so much from them.4 -
