The May Apple is a shade loving woodland flower which blooms in the spring. We have patches of these growing wild in our forest.
Have a great Sunday.

“Botanic Name: Calochortus albus
Common Name: Fairy Lanterns
Size: 2'h x 1'w
Sun: Shade-Part Shade
H20: Summer dry
Good Under Oaks
Description:
One of California's most charming native bulbs, Globe lily's round blossoms look like soap bubbles floating in the shade. Not difficult to grow, but exacting in its requirements - good drainage and no summer water, which will rot the bulb. Almost always seen as a mass in nature, this is recommended in the garden as well for the plants to have any sort of impact.”
Photo of lovely Fairy Lanterns from our hike❣️ One of my very favorite wildflowers because, of course, I am half-fairy!! 🧚🏿♀️

Exercised?: Yes. (drone track setup and racing)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Really cold day racing today. Winter is really here in Melbourne.
Racing went well. Struggled for consistency, but so did most. Was fortunate to finish in 3rd. Enjoyed flying and finished all races (most did not). Could not have flown anything close to how I did today even 6 months ago (at Nationals).
(Posted the video of my cleanest run - can post link to it here if anyone wants to see it).
@RangerRickL. @MadisonMolly2017. Beautiful photos. Enjoy the warmer weather.

Saturday 5/25 Pass Day/Sick
Luckily I have a spreadsheet that I track everything in. I had to look at it to remember where I left off. I got a summer cold on Wednesday thru Saturday. I am still stuffy back thankfully I can function again. I think summer colds are the worst!!11 -

@RangerRickL oh you just reminded me of the May apples I had planted at my last woodland home! I had forgotten all about them. Thank you.
It’s a pass day, unfortunate rebound from not eating yesterday. This is exactly why I’m working hard not to under eat.
Great 60 minute HiTT class, worked HARD!5 -
Yes x 3, exercise was a two hour walk through the woods with family. Slow paced but I carried the grandbaby for much of it so I got a workout.
Coincidentally someone had stuck a few signs in front of some of the plants growing beside the path. I’m quite good at identifying wildflowers/plants but the first sign we came across was for one I didn’t know, the May Apple! Looked identical to Rick’s pick! Trilliums are blossoming right now (Ontario’s flower).

Had every intention of taking my first pass today. Hung out at the pool and was exhausted from the heat and our party yesterday. Came in and the look on my dogs face made me take him on a 2 mile walk. It had been too hot for him outside today.7 -

This was my cleanest run for the day (out of 11 attempts). Most flight I made had many more mistakes and collisions than this run. Even this run had one gate collision, but not bad enough to make me crash (or even sustain any damage).
For this run, there was a 20mph wind blowing in the same direction as we launched from. You cannot see it in the camera, but it sure makes a difference to how the drone flies. Makes things just that much harder.
At the very end I land upside down. I then use a method to reverse two motors and turn the drone over. It's called turtle mode. It's a useful little trick when racing and allows you to get back up flying if nothing is too badly damaged.
Race drones are tough. They can usually be limped home with bent propellors, or even an entire missing propeller blade (2 blades missing is iffy, 3 blades missing (or an entire propeller) is usually too much). Race drones usually fly with 4, 3 bladed propellers.6 -
5/25 was pass day #4 for me and we left for vacation today so I may not be able to log every day for the next week so I will not make it to the winners circle but I still appreciate the motivation and inspiration from this group. Good luck everyone and hope you enjoy the long weekend! 😎8
