Welcome to the July 2019 Ultimate Accountability Challenge!
Some of you have been with this challenge for months and some are brand new. This is one of the hardest challenges to stay with throughout the entire month. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!! Log every BLT (Bite, Lick, Taste). Stay strong and true to yourself....YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better.
GOOD LUCK!

I'm back for month #7! Hoping to make this a 7th month straight at the Winner's Circle as well! Looking forward to seeing familiar faces again and meeting new ones.6

Hi All! I’m new! I recently loss some weight and it is starting to sneak back on. I’m looking forward to this group helping me stay accountable with my tracking. I know I will avoid those snacks if I’m diligent about tracking my food and exercise.7

Back again. Settling comfortably into maintenance (which is great, but need to make sure I don't get complacent.)
Off to Alaska at the end of the month. So that may take me out of the winner's circle for both July and August, but well worth it!7 -
Its been a few months, but I'm back to give this another try. I succeeded once, and didn't make it a few times, but this challenge really works for me. The months that I have stuck to this has accounted for the majority of my weight loss since joining mfp a couple of years ago.
Good luck to all!7 -
I’m Susan. I am back for another try. I did this once before and bailed. I’m on track and ready to be accountable! Thanks to my pal for inviting me. Susan6

Looking forward to sharing my July journey with the group - month four shall see me in the winner's circle!7

Hello, I'm Alisa. I have had a hard year and need someone to keep me accountable. I became my parents caregiver and they both past away this past year. I've eaten a lot of comfort food just trying to deal with everything throughout this year and gained 33 lbs. Two weeks ago I had a wonderful vacation where I didn't have to think about anything but me and de-stress. Since we were in Hawaii and my swim suit did not fit anymore, I went shopping. That was an eye opener for me and I started logging my food again.11

Hi! I'm Bonnie. I live in Nashville TN and am married to Doug (34 years this August!). We're empty-nesters with two sons and one daughter-in-law. We signed up to be fosters for Schnauzer Love Rescue and failed at our first attempt. Ollie ended up adopting us and we couldn't be happier!
I've been in UAC since January 1st and it has been the biggest help to keep me focused on my health and weight-loss goals.
Welcome to all our new folks this month! I look forward to getting to know you and spending another month with UAC.8 -
Hi, I'm Carol...and July will be my 20th month of participating in the UAC challenge. My husband of 46 years and I reside in upstate NY. We have two adult married sons and five grandchildren. Like @BonnieHosk85 we attempted to foster a Jack Russell Terrier. Annie was irresistible and has become my tail.
I find there is always strength in numbers and particularly enjoy having other members on my side as we navigate this journey together. Welcome cheerleaders and friends!7 -
Hi, I’m Christine. July will be my 3rd month as part of the UAC family. I’m a big fan of this group. Always positive and encouraging. Welcome to new and returning members!
I came back to MFP after regaining weight this winter and I’ve already lost most of it again. In July I expect to increase my calories a little and start focusing more on fitness. One of the great things about this challenge is it seems to be just as helpful whether you’re losing or maintaining.5 -

Hi all! I'm new to this challenge and very excited about it I'm Kate from the UK, living in Portugal. Got between 16 and 30 more lbs to lose..... I've been obese/overweight my whole adult life so genuinely don't know what weight will suit me so I'm embracing the journey! Hugh weight was around 220 started this year at around 200 and am 186 today.
I get the month of August off from work so am focusing hard in July to be the best version of myself by the end of the month!
Looking forward to the challenge and to getting to know you all, have a great day!8 -
Terri fro Northern Ireland. Back for my ninth month. Working on improving my fitness and health. Made the Winners Circle 8 times so far.
Goal for 2019 is to reach maintenance. Weight has been steadily trending downwards,
UAC is a good place for anyone to start the practicing of new habits, in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere

I am looking forward to the July challenge and a chance for success and the winners circle!3

Hello! My name is Lily from the US and this is my first month doing this challenge. I'm turning 19 this month and I would like to give this year a good start! My weight loss goal is to get to less than 140 lbs from 190-ish lbs so I can be within regulation to join the USAF eventually! 😊 I've never really participated in forums on mfp but I have lost over 130 lbs over 3 years counting calories on here with my highest weight being around 320 lbs. Good luck everyone! 🎉10

Welcome to all newcomers & returnees!!! You are doing a great thing for your health!!
Give yourself 3 months to “get the hang of it!” Baby steps work!
I’m Maddie, celebrating 40th wedding anniversary in July❣️❣️❣️
Since Jan 1, 2016, I have lost 75.3 lbs.
I joined UAC March 2018 @ 180.8, losing the final 26-28 lbs in 10 months & maintaining the past 6 months. (Declared maintenance 2 months ago.)
After being overweight/obese since I was 17, this feels like a miracle, but really it’s the result of a compelling reason to be healthy & 100’s of tiny habit changes!!
We are all here to support you❣️6 -

Hi I’m Rita a newbie from the U.K. I’m 67 years young and have been trying to lose 14 pounds for some time now. I have been a member of a couple of other challenges and think I have become complacent and so this may be the change I need. Holiday to Turkey is booked for September so there’s my goal 🤞4

Hi, I'm Lea, I have found it very difficult to keep up with my macros since having a baby 4+ years ago. I'd like to get back into macro counting, and intentionally keeping account of what I eat. This challenge seems like a great way to get back into it!5

Hi, I'm Alicia, age 36, from Rio Rancho, New Mexico. I just wrote the perfect intro and then somehow deleted it. I guess the main points are that I hope this will be a little island of self-care as I have so much going on:
Seven kids (nine on weekends)
Broken tibia and fibula from a car accident in April (graduated to a cane now!)
School full-time towards Accounting degree
Weaving as supplemental income/hobby
I want to lose to fit into the bridesmaid dress (they only had a size down) for my best friends wedding in September and get ready for my own wedding June 2020. And just generally feel more like myself which is normally around 120lbs not 167lbs on my 4"11" frame.
My plan is to do my physical therapy exercises and now able to use the stationary bike at the gym. I've set my meals to be similar around 1200 and balanced every day. I'm on day 3 and feeling okay, not deprived.7 -
@Rigibann Welcome Rita! A trip to Turkey sounds awesome.
@oneprincesslea Welcome Lea! You’re in the right place to make it happen.
@GoodNPlentyMore Welcome Alicia! You definitely have your hands full. You have my admiration. Welcome to the group.2 -
@goldthistime Thank you for the warm welcome and it's encouraging to hear this challenge is working so well for you.
@TerriRichardson112 8 times to Winner's Circle? That's amazing!1 -
@GoodNPlentyMore
Hi Alicia. 'I just wrote the perfect intro and then somehow deleted it' We've all done that! Lol!
Welcome to UAC. Well done on your recovery and progress so far. And best wishes for a full recovery.

I'm just getting back into MFP after a long absence; I've now logged my food for 5 days in a row! I've been very successful with MFP before and I'm ready to do it again.3

Hi. I am Michelle, age 42, and this will be my first month with UAC. My ultimate goal is health and mobility. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder several years back and was only able to walk 10 minutes at a time on the treadmill before my legs would start to go numb. My journey began then. I was lucky to get 3500 steps a day. I joined a great group here on mfp and they challenge me each day to keep moving. Now, I am averaging over 6300 steps. I would love to get to 10000 a day or more. As well, I recently had an wellness exam done. There were a few markers that are elevated. My goal is to get those numbers within acceptable limits by diet and exercise.
I look forward to being apart of this group!4 -
Hello everyone! My name is Kai and I’m new to this challenge, it’s been tempting me for months but I didn’t think I could meet the activity requirement. Well, early this month my scale and I had a huge disagreement, I thought it should move downward, it told me that I was maintaining. I had a huge two day binge that finally forced it to move, in the wrong direction... Once I re-lost what I gained I found that the scale still thought I was maintaining. Instead of binging again I decided that if the scale wouldn’t move I would. I’m now more and more active and decided now was the time to join this challenge and hopefully stay motivated to keep moving. For note the scale has since come to agree with me and is once again moving downward.
I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you.

Hello all! I am new to this challenge, but not new to MFP. My goal is weight loss and maintain once I lose the weight. I gained 30lbs, and that is a very uncomfortable amount of weight gain for my height 5’6 and my age 44. I am currently 188lbs, and my ideal weight is 145. I haven’t had the discipline to do what I needed to lose weight, but here I am and ready to get going! I look forward to this challenge.3

Hello everyone! Molly from the SF Bay Area. This will be my 16th month with UAC. It took me about 4 months to sign up originally, it seemed too strict for someone like me. I'm so glad i joined! Even though i don't make the winners circle the majority of the time, i have seen huge improvement in my body composition, discipline and attitude when i approach food. I am still on my weight loss journey, have 15-20 lbs left until my original goal.4

Hello all! I’m Sue, also from the SF Bay Area. I’m 68 years old and retired. I’ve been an off and on UAC member during the last 8 months. I have chronic vertigo and frequent migraines which slow me up but with the help of MFP and following a CICO diet I’ve really improved my health and fitness. This challenge helped me get through the winter holidays without gaining weight. That was my weight goal for November and December! Now I’m back to very slowly losing weight as I approach maintenance. I’ve lost 55 pounds (12 pounds twice) intermittently over the last 5 years and I want to lose about 5 more before deciding I’m done. I have yet to be in the winner’s circle, but that’s not been too discouraging. I guess after this many years of effort I’m taking the long view of my self improvement efforts, . I’m looking forward to the July challenge and so need the accountability it brings to my efforts.5

Hi, I am Jen.
Finally, I am ahead in my classwork that I feel like I can emerge from my "study cave"! This month's goal is to post consistently in UAC, regardless if it good, bad, or simply my go-to excuse of "I was too busy with school", AND not to give up posting once I have become disqualified. I feel like I am always restarting this. I need to make this a lifestyle, not a diet that I can start and stop when life gets busy.
