We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Thread starters for June are below:

Today's Topic: Summertime schedule & LTL. Is this a happy time? or a time that creates issues with weight gain , maintenance or weight loss.

Summer is a stressful time for me at work as my graduate program goes year round. We have our biggest graduating class this summer since we are switching over to a new program model. Between this large group and starting up new students AND the endless projects my dean has for me because apparently I'm not busy enough, I'm too often at the meltdown point lately. That is not a good place to be since it often leads to seeking food for comfort.

At least my weekends are busy with bike riding (or in the case of this past weekend - a ton of yard work) which helps balance out the work week.

Here in south Florida it’s really hot. I find I eat a bit less. Retired all my time is happy time. Well, potentially happy.
