One of many great quotes from Team Member @victorious55
"My goal in life is not to make pharmaceutical companies (Big Pharma)/or big diet food merchants rich at my expense"
What are you doing to break free?

Today is a road trip in the middle of a mini getaway. Just stopped at a rest stop and bought a green smoothie and Bel vita...this is lunch instead of fast food drive thru. Not my ideal but for a road trip, I'm pretty proud of how far I've come. Planning to have yes x 3 for today but tracking dinner could be hard. Won't make the circle for July but I intend to track all I can for the next few days.8

Pass day # 6 - No tracking.5 -
Track: yes
Excerise: no
Budget: over, way over!
Budget is over today because I was invited to friends catch up afternoon tea. They made scones with love. I had 2. It didn’t upset me because I made the decision to honour the friendship. Strangely, I feel empowered.5 -
When we go on long journeys, I take my own healthy food with me. For example, we have packed a picnic lunch for the journey home tomorrow, including flasks for our own coffee/tea. And we have our own snacks so that we won't be paying the inflated prices at the motorway services.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. Lots of walking this afternoon , and lugging stuff around this evening as we packed up ready to drive home tomorrow morning.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

To day I have knee surgery. I'm unable to do more then toe touch, using a walker or crutches to get around. Will be doing this for the next 3 weeks for starters. It's very exhausting to do so. I feel like I'm getting alot of exersize. But I guess technically I'm not.🤷♀️ I'm gonna be out of the circle do to this fact. I did sign in to do August, but Just for the accountability factor.9 -

Yes X’s 3
4 hours of gardening this morning. Under by about 15 with no eat backs.
My family’s decision to go keto was at the strong recommendation of my husband’s Doctor.
My husband has a hereditary cholesterol problem where his body produces so much cholesterol it was causing liver damage. On the highest doses of meds his “bad” cholesterol was unmeasurable. He was taking meds for high blood pressure as well. 80lbs over weight he was also considered pre diabetic.
After six months of keto I teared up when he Dr said “6 months ago your husband was at twice the risk of a heart attack for a man his age, today he is at half the risk”
He no longer takes meds for blood pressure, he is no longer considered pre diabetic and his cholesterol level is in the normal range (he now takes a very low dose of medication as he transitions off his meds completely)
Even though I was 100lbs over a healthy BMI all of my blood work and blood pressure has always been perfect.
So we have no plans on supporting big pharma!!!
PS we don’t eat any pre-packed or pre-made keto labeled foods or bars.

thanks for sharing! I too have a similar situation. My husband is trying to lose as well and so I put him on a keto diet I'm hoping in 6 months to report the same findings. He's down 20 pounds since beginning but he is a hard student for sure.4 -

@stella7x7 The UAC exercise requirement is that you do 20 minutes per day of exercise. If your rehab exercises are 20 minutes or more, that is what you can do. That is just fine. When you are rehabbed, then up the pace!!
Best wishes and get well quickly!!

@BonnieHosk85 You are wise to plan occasional rest days, especially after pushing hard on other days.2

Pass Day #6. Helped with my sick grandson again. I find it impossible to prioritize my own goals in this situation. The good news is that we got what seems to be the right diagnosis today and I think he should be good from here on out.
As to what I’m doing to avoid supporting big pharma, same thing you all are doing, keeping the weight in check and exercising. I also have stopped drinking alcohol. Not sure if that will prolong my life or if it will just FEEL longer

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Had to move my usual long-run to today since the hubby and I are going to Lake Tahoe for the day tomorrow. So 9 mile run this morning, plus walking around the California State Fair tonight. Ending the day with just over 32K steps.
