This week has been a toss up. Made my walking goals and did well during the day but totally went ape-s&it crazy during the evenings. We'll see what my "friend" the scales has to say tomorrow.

Sorry about the heat Syd. And 110 is too hot! And I don't care how "dry" it is. A pool is a must for your retirement home!!!

Good luck with the scales Gwen!

Crossing my fingers for you Gwen! I know how mean that scale can be, I hope yours is friendlier!!
Syd - ugh, that is nasty heat! :open_mouth:

Did pretty well with alcohol this week, 2 drinks on Wednesday, the rest of the days were zeros however, tomorrow we are going to a summer beer festival...could be dangerous!! :joy::open_mouth:
Over the last year, I've been slowly transitioning to a vegetarian diet...the last two weeks, I've been eating mostly vegan. I read a lot of data about a vegan diet being able to help with migraines and while eating vegetarian has helped, I'm cutting out dairy now to see if it can eliminate the headaches completely...

Ann, that's great (all those zeros last week) I did well the week before but last week was bad. Our two youngest were here for dinner this weekend and so there was a lot of wine flowing. And then yesterday as well so trying for at least 4 zeros this week.

Hi Lushes, Thought I would pop in and say "Hi".

    A few shout outs...

Syd...110 degrees! Yikes! The bright side...hmmm...can't think of any. Thank God for AC!

Gary, Three trips in a week! That's a lot of laughing gas :)

Gwen, Where in GA are you from? I am in the Buford/Suwanee/Lawrencville area.

    oh... Hi everyone!

Hey stranger!!! So good to see you. What's been going on with you?

All good here. Back on track after our family gathering and the burial at sea. It was a beautiful day (and boat) I always forget just how touristy San Diego is during the summer though...the crowds down at the harbor were insane. That is one part I won't miss after our move.

wolf23 (sorry, couldn't find your name!) I'm living in Blue Ridge now, but we lived in Lawrenceville for 15 years! Small world.

Hope everyone is having a great week. I'm kind of on track - zero Monday, 2 yesterday. Planning on zeros today and tomorrow and continuing to do the intermittent fasting. Syd, I skipped the scale as I wasn't feeling it... Going to weigh in before my trip next week and then will probably have to restart the fasting when I get back. I'll still have two weeks b4 the wedding so should be good. So far, I haven't gained so...

I was telling a friend today how I've been doing everything I can to lose those 10 pounds and not an ounce and my husband dropped 15 just by breathing I think. She said "That's great! That means you didn't have anything you needed to lose. You're perfect just as you are." Now, that's a great way to look at it. :)

Gwen - I love friends that always find the bright side :)

I had one drink Monday and 1 last night so not too bad so far... Next weekend is my husbands birthday though, so that always entails going away for a weekend trip and lots of drinks typically...

Having a good week exercise and diet wise. My crazy older brother is in town next week so there will be drinking. I'm trying to be good until then.

We had a great week at the beach with friends. Great weather, quiet, good times.

Looks like you all are doing well. Nice to see Wolf (Diane?) back!

    Sounds perfect, Gary.

Headed to the beach today with my out of town family (along with the zillions of other tourists, I'm sure :/ ) Wish me luck.
Is it bad I'm counting the days til they leave? (5) :drinker:

Syd - not at all! It's only bad if you're counting the hours and minutes! ;)
Birthday weekend for the husband.... oh boy! Here comes the alcohol! Just have to try to avoid the walk of shame... :#

The beach actually went well. Came back to our house after. It was a full day and I probably had 4-5 glasses of wine over 7-8 hours.
Baseball game at Petco park tomorrow. There's 12 of us going so that'll be interesting...like herding cats.
My weight is up, I can tell. Serious reset next week.

Enjoy the bday weekend, Ann! Hope everyone else is doing well :drinker:

Hello! Had an amazing birthday vacation to Boulder and Denver with our 27-year-old son. It was perfect from start to finish. Saw O.A.R in concert on my bday at Red Rock and I'm pinching myself as it was just amazing. The memories that I have from spending 5 days with my son is priceless. I am feeling very grateful. Now, just 12 days until our youngest son's wedding! Being good all week (I hope ) so that I fit in that darn dress! So far, so good.

How fun, Gwen!! Sounds like a perfect trip (son's are the best!)...and happy belated birthday!

The out of town family is gone and all went well. I have a Dr appointment tomorrow (that I'm dreading) and then on Thursday we're going to a winery to celebrate my cousin's bday. :drinker:

Gwen- what fun times you have been having! And a wedding coming up in a little over a week- busy summer!

Syd- crossing my fingers that all goes well on your Dr appt. I know they suck....big,,,,,hairy`````donkey`````balls!!!

Busy here, walking, trying to stay on track. We will be at our place at the beach Friday til Wednesday with our oldest and our grandson. Memories will be made!

Gary, I love that you're spending so much time at the beach making memories. Sounds perfect! Can I come crash after we move and it's 110 degrees in the desert??!

Dr went ok. Got a spot on my arm biopsied and one on my nose frozen off. Use sunscreen kiddos!!

Winery was fun (and beautiful) Cousin and I split a bottle (husband was DD) plus I had 1 glass before...so not too bad. She was ready to get another bottle. That would have made the windy road on the drive home not good :s

I'm so excited to have zero plans this weekend. Got on the scale and I'm up a pound. So after all the family visits/activities, it could be worse.
    Enjoy your weekend, lushes! :drinker:

Syd, I am still avoiding the scale. Did pretty good this week with just 3 drinks all week. Tonight there will be wine and pork tenderloin from the smoker (not the wine.) We are in full wedding prep mode and I am trying on the dress again tonight.. Wish me luck.

Gwen- wedding should be this weekend? Have a wonderful time!
Syd- being a "ginger" I have had a biopsy done. It turned out negative and the Dr almost seemed disappointed it didnt come back positive. Professional pride I guess. I will be rooting for you!

Busy and great summer. We will be gone most of September going back to Idaho to ride more of the Trail of the Couer d'Alenes. Its been hard to stay on track, most of my efforts are just trying to hold my own and not gain.

I will keep in touch as the internet allows. As always I love hearing about what is going on with the gang. <3

Yes, happy wedding, Gwen!! I'm sure the dress looks spectacular.

You have been busy, Gary! You're making me excited for retirement life. Enjoy and check in when you can.

Biopsy came back ok so all good. Spent another day at the beach yesterday celebrating my mom's cousin's bday. Sunday we're seeing a concert at a small outdoor venue by the marina (so my anxiety in crowds should be ok). It's a beautiful setting that starts right around sundown and continues under the stars. I'm looking forward to it.

    Enjoy your weekend lushes! :drinker:

Syd- so happy to hear it came back all good! <3. The concert by the marina sounds awesome, that would be right up our alley of things we like to do.
Gary- enjoy the trip- sounds fabulous!
Gwen- looking forward to wedding stories and pics!
Just plugging along here - been kind of a pushy week but my workouts and mostly good eating have kept me on track. Looking forward to Labor day weekend and our anniversary weekend after Labor day.

Syd- The concert looked awesome! Glad the biopsy came back negative!

Ann- Great job keeping on track.

It will be difficult for me but I really want to stay "good" during our time in Idaho. We'll see!

Gary - lol - you sound like me...every day I tell myself to behave, eat well and not drink but by the end of the day, I don't listen to myself at all! :#;) Since a fine line between balancing and enjoying life...

From our recent trip...this was Cleveland, right by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. From there we headed to BrewDog Hotel - which is an all beer hotel. It was super cool and beer-y :)

    Great pic, Ann!

I'm with you both...good intentions of doing well with eating and exercise but not having much luck. I'm up over 2 pounds after the weekend. It was worth it tho.

Had a 0 yesterday. Husband has his colonoscopy tomorrow so I'm being sympathetic and trying to fast along with him.

Hello! I'm back on track after a magical wedding weekend. The wedding was absolutely perfect, with an added bonus in that I will finally have a family photo that includes all my kids (4) and my 3 tiny granddaughters. A FULL family photo! My son wasn't going to bring his daughter, but surprised us by bringing her. Then the tears started -- um, mine, not hers. I am still pinching myself at how amazing everything this past weekend was. Abi, my new DIL, looked so beautiful and Dylan, my son, was so happy and so handsome. I'm still gushing, can you tell? Oh, and my dress was a perfect fit.

Great pics Ann and Gwen! Thanks for sharing!

Going back to the beach for Labor Day. Our oldest will be bringing his new girlfriend. It should be a good location to get to know her. If not, I have enough booze to get me through it. :p
