Hi everyone,
exercise yes
calories yes under
tracking yes
I am turning 60 in a couple of weeks and really want to look after myself and lose this weight. I have had back problems and knee problems and I know that if I were to lose 50 lbs my body and joints would be so much better off. I can do this, and yes even though I have to remind myself quite frequently I AM WORTH IT!
Hope everyone has a good week!5 -
Aug. 5: yes x 3
arm challenge day 2, jump rope and 55 min on treadmil. Signed up for a charity 5K in October. Needed something to keep me motivated!4 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Double workout day -- 3 mile run this morning, and 54 minutes of strength (bis and back, abs and booty) this evening
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!
My goal for UAC -- since I started here in January on MFP, my ultimate goal has been to get back to my personal goal. I sadly haven't gotten back there yet, but without this challenge and MFP in general I most definitely would have gained a lot of my weight back and then some. It keeps me motivated, keeps my wardrobe still fitting, and I know I've gotten stronger over the past 8 months (looking at you, 14 mile run!).
And am I worth it? You better believe I am! That's why I work out every morning -- I put me first before anyone else gets in the way. Plus it allows me to start every day on a strong, healthy note.6 -

My goal? It used to be getting to a certain number on the scale. I am trying to shift that mindset to being strong, healthy and feeling good.5 -

Yes x 3 for Monday
Actually well under calories for a change! One hour boot camp, 20 min walk
My goal is continued weight loss and improved fitness. I love being the fittest I've ever been since high school over 20 years ago. I'm almost fully recovered now from a knee surgery in December, and I'm so grateful to have mobility and health...I don't want to ever take it for granted. For The remainder of the year, I want to improve fitness in an intentional way. I want to see more muscles and improvement in abilities. Feeling good5 -

yes, yes, yes ...
Topic of the day - goals and values.
Goals - I want to be kind of a fit guy for my age. Incorporate values... functionally I want to be able to take care of Buddy. He is always going to be a little boy. He is getting heavier and I am getting older. That is a reality. He 70 pounds now. That ain't much to a body builder but I can hurt myself if I ain't careful. Get the little guy on the toilet or in the tub. That is lifting and extending. Gotta be careful.
Goals - I want a climb average of 1,000 per day for a month. I done it before. I think I can still do it. I don't gotta be as fast as some of the guys I hang with. I just be me. I get some good respect for just doing that much.
I got me a new fitness watch today. Heh, 200 bucks. My trepidation on spending on sports equipment. What if my knees call it quits right after I spend money. That'd be weird.
I walked to the store to buy it. Yesterday's climb got my knees to talking. But it seems like its been like that forever. Take an advil and a tylenol.
But walking is good. It is a different motion on them joints. I feel better after having walked.
Goals - I gotta drink less alcohol. When I have gone for hard exercise I always feel like I want to drink a beer and a shot. That is dysfunctional somehow. I been doing that for a long time.
... and I ain't getting rid of that 9 pounds I been trying to shake.

To answer the “am I worth it?” question... Damn right I am! Regardless of my kids, my husband, or anyone else that depends on me, living a healthier life is all about me feeling better physically & emotionally. The people around me reap those benefits, but it is all for me. There is no guarantee that they will be part of my every day life forever, but I am stuck with myself in whatever shape I am in.
@LisaPower123 Excellent. As an audio program says, “My body is my ally; my friend for life.” Without our bodies, we have no life.2 -
