Yearly obligatory blood work update

I rarely post, but read daily. As a backstory, I went keto in 2015 and over about 15 months managed to loose 125 pounds. I continue to eat keto (mainly carnivore) during maintenance. Starting in 2017 (when I was less than 6 months maintaining) I have had to do yearly biometric screenings and I try to post my results. I’ll include the previous two years for reference as well.

Total Cholesterol: 239 (2019), 256 (2018), 293 (2017)
LDL: 132 (2019), 171 (2018), 207 (2017)
HDL: 98 (2019), 76 (2018), 73 (2017)
TG: 45 (2019), 45 (2018), 66 (2017)
CHO/HDL ratio: 2.4 (2019), 3.4 (2018), 4.0 (2017)
TG/HDL ration: 0.46 (2019), 0.59 (2018), 0.90 (2017)

Feeling really pleased with the continuous improvement! I have found this group to be so supportive, helpful, and knowledgeable during my journey; I truly believe I wouldn’t have been successful without it!

    Congrats, it’s good to see long term success stories like this. It’s not uncommon for someone to say something nice about weight loss, ask how you did it, then when you mention Keto they tell you it’s not sustainable or warn me about cholesterol. I’m less than 4 months in so I just say thanks and move on. This is inspiring to me.

    Very nice! What are your staples to your diet?

    I find it easier to basically eat the same things as I’m not very creative! My main protein sources are eggs, salmon, cod, pork shoulder, pork tenderloin, beef tenderloin, chicken breast, and ground beef. I love cheeses, but try to limit it to 2 ounces per day. I’ll usually have a plain Yoplait YQ yogurt daily. When I (very rarely) eat fruit and vegetables, I stick with avocados, brocolli, cauliflower, spinach, mushrooms, and brussel sprouts. My one weakness is nuts, especially pecans. I’ll have one coffee and one tea with HWC every day. I also do 16:8 fasting. I am only 5’ 4”, so I find that I do need to watch my calories.

    I love to bake, but am not very interested in trying low carb substitutions, so my family and workmates get all of my baking output!

    I eat similarly, mostly carnivore. I’ll have to try yoplait YQ yogurt. Most yogurt has too much sugar. Pecans are one of the best nuts, no doubt about that! That must be difficult to bake and not eat the final product. I guess that’s why your numbers are so good. Thanks for sharing.
