“Why we don’t recommend Keto”

CONFUSED!
So I watched the video recommended in the launchpad “the truth about fats” and loved it. In it he talks about all the benefits of healthy fats and to get about 60% of our calories from these healthy fats.
Then I notice the SAME guy has done a video and a blog about the complete opposite. Recommending only 10% off calories from fats and that our cells are clogged up with fats and can’t detoxify.
So what’s the truth. How can he teach one thing then do a full 360?

I don't know about the first reference you mention from the launch pad, but there are a ton of false/incorrect statements in the linked blog above:
“I see people every day who are miserable eating “healthy fats” on the Ketogenic, GAPS, or Weston A. Price diets.” Funny, I haven’t come across this myriad of people.
“We all keep coming to the same conclusion; peoples’ bodies are congested, their pipes aren’t flowing, and this is why people are sick and struggle with their weight. If the blood, lymph, kidneys, lungs, and liver are congested and not able to eliminate toxins and waste from the body, the result is hormonal imbalances, pain, diabetes, cancer, auto-immune disease, weight gain, and so much more. That is why we focus on eating a diet that helps eliminate waste, not further congesting the body with fats (healthy or not).” The problem is not ‘congestion,’ it’s inflammation.
“it is encouraged to eat 60%-75% of calories from fat, 15%-30% from protein and 5%-10% carbohydrates.” It is encouraged to get 60-75% of your calories from fat BUT if you have stored fat on your body you want to ditch, obviously you count that fat as part of your 60-75%. You don’t INGEST that amount, fat taken in is only a PORTION of that percentage, the rest comes from your ‘onboard pantry.’
“An easier, and for many, the preferred method of fasting is juice fasting or just eating fruits and vegetables. This is also powerful because it gives the body its preferred fuel source (natural sugars) without bogging down your system with too many things for your body to break down and eliminate…All of the healing clinics around the world that have seen great success in healing major illnesses like cancer including Hippocrates, Optimum Health, Gerson and others all use fasting to help aid the body in healing. They mostly serve a no meat, low-fat, high greens, fruits, and vegetable diet as the norm, often encouraging greens and juicing.” He obviously doesn’t actually know what fasting is, Don’t eat food, drink water.
“When people eat a high-fat diet, the cells become clogged with fat, way more than they need for the energy demands of the body.” Wrong, the body stores extra energy (glucose) in the cells as fat for when it is needed. Ingested fat is not automatically shoved into the cells for storage. This happens when you eat too much of any nutrient. It is easier to reach satiety by eating fats & proteins than by eating carbs, therefore you also end up eating less by eating mainly fats & proteins.
This guy actually needs to look at the science of human biology.7 -
"Ketosis is not a common state for the body to be in, and it is, without question, not natural to be in a state of ketosis long-term."
Actually this has been proven false, they examined the diets of Inuit and Aborigional people and found that they were almost certainly living a keto lifestyle. There are a mirriad of examples of our ancestors living Keto lifestyles (obviously not called keto back then).6 -
Gerson therapy originally included raw beef liver so it wasn’t all veggies.1
