Nutrita is creating an app to help people know how appropriate foods are for keyo/low carb, their nutrient quality and bioavailability, and the body's typical insulin response from that food... that last one is particularly useful to those of us in this group. :)

Hey, it is not ground breaking. This clown founder plagarized insulin index, keto score, and nutrient density from optimising nutrition by Marty Kendall. Marty has been talking and sharing everything freely since 2015. Raphael was a part of the FB groups where all of the information was shared even some copyrighted stuff. When Marty found that he blatantly copied him with Nutrita he got booted from all of the Facebook groups. They used to be friends until he copied his work and did reference him AT ALL. If you want to associate yourself with such a snake like Raphael go ahead. He might screw you over like he did many others.

Hi, I’m Raphael Sirtoli and yesterday the I was made aware of the comments by joeketocarnivore about me back in May.

First of all, I admire how fast Marty learned some nutrition science to help his type 1 diabetic wife manage her disease. That’s great!

Now, the insulin index is a bit like the glycemic index, in that everyone and anyone can use it freely. The original insulin index was constructed a long time ago in 1997 by Holt et al. in Australia (it’s a publicly available PDF). It can be improved by researchers and doctors, should they choose to measure insulin in response to feeding people standardized portions of foods. Or, it can be somewhat improved by data savvy people who can ‘clean’ out some of the false positives and false negatives (type 1 and 2 errors) by running the publicly available data on bigger and better food databases - to a limited extent. Nutrita did that cleaning and we now believe to have the most accurate insulin index to date.

The “keto score “ is not something we found to exist before we created it. Trust me, we looked! And we were surprised not to find anything.

The nutrient density score, simply describes the concept of how nourishing a food is. Neither I nor Marty invented it. However, his nutrient density score is different from Nutrita’s, likely due to our different interpretations of the underlying science.

As regards me being “booted” from Marty’s groups, that’s correct. Years ago, my co-founder and I offered to collaborate with him on further developing the index and scores but he turned us down. From this point on he saw us as untrustworthy competitors, it seems. It’s a pity if you ask me, as I think there would’ve been more to gain by working together than by becoming competitors - but that’a just my opinion.

I’m happy to answer any further questions anyone may have, especially about the scores, the webapp or my views on the science. Even better, go explore our product for yourself and compare it with Marty’s - make your own mind up. It won’t cost you a thing to explore our Nutrita Pro as we offer a free 7-day trial https://nutrita.app/pro

The reason I started Nutrita was to help people get healthier by working with a great team. I hope this came through here.

    Thanks,

    Raphael Sirtoli
