I believe this to be true...
Years ago, I was taught that we cannot break free of bad habits by will power.
We can only break free of a bad habit by intentionally choosing to replace the bad habit with an alternative good habit.
Have you found that to be true in reaching your current goals?

Even choosing not to do something is doing something different so replacing the bad habits with a different action, even if it is a lack of action. It needs to be a conscious change of action.
I had an exhausted day again, really struggling to get energy levels back. Ate reasonably well and satisfied with the calories consumed. Did a rehab session and ran around after seals and their volunteer team today. I swear the people looking after the seals need more supervision that the actual animals.4 -

A good day!
Exercise: Yes, I went to the swimming pool for the first time in ages and swam for half an hour, walked for an additional 50 minutes.
Calories: Yes, stayed under. I've started cooking 'properly' again, breaking bad habits!

I also did more little jobs that I had let slide and rewarded myself with a trip to the cinema tonight.7 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, barely, a 30 minute dog walk. I drove a friend to the doctor today, and between the doctor trip and my job, didn't have time for other exercise.

Well, yes. I've gotten into the routine of shopping and always having healthy meals with food I enjoy in the fridge. Food planning and prep has been essential for my weight loss. I hate cooking, have no interest in it, so I've compromised with very simple meals that are good enough for me.
Daily exercise is a balancing act. I have some serious personal interests that involve sitting a lot. I can't call that a bad habit. BUT I do waste time and can certainly find an hour or so to go for a walk or a run.

Calories: I ate good today! Under my calories
Tracked: yes
So hard to change a habit for good...
I like think it’s about finding enjoyment in the alternative habit.
Although, even though I enjoy exercise and eating healthy definitely makes me feel 100000 times better, I still have a hard time not eating to much over the long term. The social aspect is what I find most difficult I think.
Listening in for tips of successful maintainers.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!2 -

3 x’s yes. It was a very physical day- Pilates mat class and yoga this morning. Regular Tuesday night kickboxing hour followed by my first intro to spin class. I’ve tried spin a few times in boot camp classes and hated it but decided to give it a fair chance. Lol I kept telling my fellow gym mates that I was “saving it for Winter”. It snowed this morning...
Looking up- it would seem I’ve replaced habits that weren’t working for me (i.e. overeating, half a bottle of wine each night) with exercise and fitness.6 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes! It’s been forever since I did actual exercise that didn’t involve the natural exercise I get in at work, and it was a little more tiring than I was expecting, even for just 20 minutes worth! I did arm exercises with barbells today.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? I did! I skirted right close to the line though.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yup, everything!5 -

Lots of exercise today which gave me a large calorie deficit. Basically biked 25 min to the gym to do a one-hour exercise class (jumps, strides, lunges, squats, balance, pullups, etc) followed by a one-hour parkour class then biked back home (bit longer due to being uphill). Felt good!5 -

Exercise? Yes
Calories? Better. 100 over. Working on smaller protein meals 4 times per day. My limit was low, and I am losing weight. This UAC is helping me. That 100-200 over is indulging, and I hope to eliminate that more often than not from daily choices. .
