no, yes, yes...Kind of lethargic on exercise. Couple of days of dentist appointments. Don't know why I don't think I can't exercise when it is like that. I guess exercise is kind of a ritual for me. I do a certain thing at a certain time. Obsessive, compulsive, what is the D for I forgot?
But I sat there in the dentist office listening to dentist office music and this guy comes on, says he is either a cardiologist or that he knows one. I forget which.
Long and the short of it. This guy says that it ain't no good running your heart off the deep end.
I asked a cardiologist one time.."is there any amount of exercise that will damage a healthy heart?" He replies ... "no,but who says you have a healthy heart?"
Alright but this guy on the dentist office music station says... "Don't run more than four times a week and don't run more than four miles per run."
He had more detail but that is the gist of it.
I don't know if I am going past that with my climbing or not. I kind of get what he is saying. I used to run my heart off the deep end. I would get palpitations for a few hours afterwards.
Not so much anymore. I wear the heart monitor when I change regimes. But my straight up climb average less than 80%. Hill repeats in youngster territory, somewhat higher.
The paper route, heh, I get what that guy is saying. Don't over do it. Don't pretend like you are in the game with them youngster rascals.
Ugh... more dentist tomorrow.0 -
@BuddysSurrogateGrandpa1 The dental office sounds a bit frustrating for you. I would suggest you follow only the advice of your personal physician/cardiologist. He/she should have a good idea as to the appropriateness and intensity of your physical activity...and you should already have a good idea as to your comfort zone.1

I should have read those post-it notes before I went to the movie party! Yes on exercise but I let myself fall into the box of raisenettes. Yes, I tracked my calories, and it was painful!0

Yes, I guess I have replaced bad habits with good ones.
With one caveat: I eliminated grocery store food cues because my husband is willing to do most of the shopping. Not really a new good habit for me, though.0 -
