Hi guys!

Happy November!

Hope everybody did well and came out unscathed from Halloween! All safe here. Not eating any of the candy that always seems to be around, especially at the office this time of year. Sigh...

Quiet evening here last night. We had been getting A LOT of rain this week. Finally stopped in the afternoon yesterday. It was warm (70 F) but it was REALLY windy! We got out and got the grocery shopping done last night. There was literally nobody in the markets! They were all out with their kids celebrating Halloween. :)

Down .8 of a pound this week. I will take it! Going in the right direction. Wore another pair of my size 12 trousers to work the other day and I didn't feel like I was dying. LOL

Hope everybody is doing well. Will be a little busy this weekend, so if I don't pop in I will on Monday. Have a good one!

I LOVE NOVEMBER!!! It is, by far, my favorite month! I love the fall and the weather and the thankfulness and the mashed potatoes and the fire in the fireplace and the time change and all of it. I love November!

Way to go @Meghan509!! That is great that your 12s are fitting!

I am going to take the night off, eat pizza, watch TV, and go to bed early. Then I can get all my work done this weekend so I can do housework next weekend. Actually really excited to have time to do housework. This place is a mess.

Have a great weekend! Happy November!

Stepped on the scale and I am the same as last week. Planning on skipping breakfast all week, having a couple of good fasts and watching the carbs and sodium.
    Have a great week, y'all!

    Awesome Kate!! ^^

I feel like I’ve been sooo busy this past week... and I’m OT stepping on the scale! We’ve had power outages, our phone is still not working, a friend’s bday lunch out, Halloween, a memorial at a bar, and my sons bday tomorrow but he’s sick!!

Meghan our weather is the opposite... calm & sunny!! And I ate more Halloween candy than I gave out!!!

    Happy Sunday people!

    Good morning all!

    Happy Monday!

Had a nice weekend. Saw the "old" classic rock concert on Saturday night: Steely Dan. Unbelievable and awesome! We were short on time for dinner before the concert, so can you say boneless grilled nuggets from Chick-Fil-A for the win! LOL Honestly they were really good!!

Sounds like you guys had a nice weekend. I have to say I don't mind November either! This coming Friday we are supposed to get a little snow here. Crazy to think it! Still waiting on how much and exactly where. I am not that worried. Too early in the season to react.

Have a good day and see you guys soon!

STEELY DAN!!!??? Omg!! That was my first concert Meghan!!! Waaay back about 1978 I think!!!! Haha... I love Rock! What a funny coincidence! Glad you had a good time!!

Feeling tired this Monday! I’ve been burning the candle at both ends lately!! I’ve got to stop this madness and take a ME day!! Hoping to fast until dinner! Getting our house phone fixed today, but I gotta admit it’s been rather nice and quiet without all those soliciting calls!!!

Sounds like fun, Meghan! I remember Steely Dan from when I was really little! We had a light snow the day before Halloween. Not much more than a dusting.
Mama, TAKE A NAP! Girl, you are making *me* tired lately!
The best part of today was getting the kids up and it was NOT dark! Put me in a great mood, even when a student told me I was ruining their life... because I wanted them to do math. :D
I got the RSVP invite for the pre-graduation ceremony for the program I am in. Just over a month from now and I will be DONE!
Had a great fast today! I have a renewed energy today. Going to make it work for me this week. Have a great one!

    Good morning all!

Woo hoo Steely Dan!! Donald Fagen still has it going on. What an incredible musician! He and the band were awesome. I am a huge fan of classic rock! I grew up listening to it as a kid. My first concert was at age 16 in 1988. I was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd!! OMG I still can't believe I was able to see them twice in life!! Saw them again in the early 90's. Too funny!

Yes, I am feeling a little draggy as well, due to moving the clocks back an hour. So like, WHY do we still change these silly clocks when all they do is create havoc and make us drowsy and feeling off for a few days?! The nice thing is my alarm clock and the clock in the car update automatically. Less clocks to change! A pet peeve of mine is a clock that is showing the wrong time. :(

Things are going well here in my Keto World. Wearing another pair of size 12 trousers today and they feel pretty good! I think pretty soon I'll try some of my jeans to see how they feel. For now been hanging out in jeggings as far as jeans go. So comfy with the elastic waist!

We measured recently and I seem to have lost quite a few inches off my mid section since last measuring. Probably why my pants are fitting again. WOO HOO.

    See you all soon!

@Meghan509 I have to disagree, I LOVE THE TIME CHANGE!! I haven't had to get kids up in the dark, get their bikes off my car in the dark, navigate teenage drivers at the high school in the dark, OR get sleepy grade schoolers off the bus in the barely light. It has been Wonderful! My husband is on your side, though. He hates the change and gets disgruntled when he loses his evening light.

Had a great fast day yesterday. Did really well today. Planning on skipping breakfast tomorrow and staying low-ish calories. Will fast either Thursday or Friday.

I hope everyone has a great week! Happy Fall!

    Good morning all!

LOL @KateNkognito re: time change! I totally get it. With kids I can imagine, having light helps!

Plugging along here. Nothing new to report. Have a nice day and I'll see you all soon. :)

Well, here in BC this may be the last time we change the clocks!! Apparently I missed the on line voting..?... anyhoo, most people voted to stay on daylight time and the whole west coast would be in sync... Alaska, BC, WA, OR & CA !!! Still in negotiations, but most news reports say it’s going through! I say why the fuss, it’s tradition!! I like it because the change comes fast, it’s darker in the afternoon sooner... time for hot chocolate or tea at 4pm, time to get home cause it’s getting late kind of feeling. Sure, I get it about the mornings with kids... been there, but I like traditions so each to his own, my hubs is all in favor of ending it too., so we disagree too. Great debate lately!!

Well you’ll all be happy I took a nap yesterday! Felt better!! Such a good feeling to snuggle down and hide from the world & responsibilities.

Hope for a fast today until dinner, but my mom loves to stop for coffee & muffins!! I’ll be out shopping today! Uuggggh!0

Hope you all have a great day... that includes you too Orlcam! Megan I’m glad you’ve been measuring!! Congrats on the loss of inches!! You’re making me want to go back to keto!

Also, Kate... that’s so exciting getting your graduation invite in the mail... makes it real doesn’t it!!! Happy for you girl, you’ve done well!

    Good morning all!

Hope all goes well with coffee and muffins with Mom, @mamainthekitchen. I wish my family lived closer! I miss the days of just swinging by to say hello, have a meal, etc. Time flies that is for sure!

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with Daylight Savings Time and if it sticks around and for how much longer. I heard originally it was set up for the farmers, so they would have more daylight to do their work. Not as much of a hot button in these times it seems.

Things are good here. Weigh in day tomorrow! Been sticking to my Keto WOE and feeling good. I do have a slight itchy throat, post nasal drip, and headache thing going on since Tuesday night, but so far no full blown cold or anything. Just more of a bother. Hopefully it passes without becoming a bigger issue.

Tonight I have a hair cut and highlights scheduled after work. I am looking forward to that. Have a good day and see you guys soon.

FOUR DAYS OFF!! I am so excited to clean my house! It is a mess and I haven't had time to get anything done, lately. Plus, I am going to a belated birthday lunch with my youngest. Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful weather, so I can open the windows and blow out the man-stink. In other news, I have done really well this week with fasting and staying sane on the other days. Tomorrow will be my second fast day.

@mamainthekitchen I am glad you got a nap! I hope you had a nice day!

@meghan509 Feel better! Enjoy the trip to the hairdresser!

To everyone lurking: HELLO! I see you!

Off to start in the kitchen. I can't believe I am so excited to clean! LOL

    Good morning all!

Happy to report that I am down 2.2 lbs this week! Woo hoo! Rocking my size 12 jeans today, and they FIT! LOL We will see how they feel after lunch, but honestly not really worried. During the week I had another pair on and they fit fine as well, even after eating.

Yep, I got my haircut and had fresh highlights put in last night. Nothing like a good hair cut and color to make a girl feel better. LOL I am feeling a little better. Still no cold per se, less of a headache and scratchy throat too. Hopefully it will all blow over by the weekend.

Anybody have any fun plans this weekend? Low key here. I am totally looking forward to the week of November 25 when I am on vacation all week! Thanksgiving (US) on the Thursday and our office is closed the day after as well.

Sounds like you have had a good week too, @KateNkognito! Happy to hear it! Hope the fast goes well today.

Speak to you and see you guys soon!

That is FABULOUS, Meghan! You are on a roll! I bet you look GREAT in your jeans and your haircut! Work it! :)
I cleaned most of the house yesterday, took the child to lunch, got some homework done. By the way, if anyone has insomnia, I can suggest some reading. :/
Today I am doing bathrooms and my room. Going to go outside and enjoy the day when I get done.
    Have a GREAT weekend!

Yes that is fabulous Meghan! Another 2 lbs!! I’m the opposite over here... refuse to get in that stupid scale... it’s all Halloween candy! The sugar I’ve consumed in the last month!! I feel swelling everywhere because I was sooo good about only having that 90% choco !! Oh well I’ll figure it out! Timing is everything! I’ve just been so busy! Having the sons family bday dinner tomorrow... I’m dreading the gluten free, sugar free, dairy meal... the daughter doesn’t eat roast beef and that was the sons choice! Soooo I’m making her chicken! *sigh* I’m preparing a gluten free brownie for her since she won’t be able to have the cheesecake!!!

    Have a great weekend people!

WOO HOO! I am down a pound! This is the lowest I have been since last March! Onward and downward!
@mamainthekitchen One of the many reasons I don't cook is because these people can't ever agree on what to have. Enjoy the time together!
Off to sit in the sun and enjoy the day before it gets bitterly cold again tomorrow. Have a lovely day!

    Good morning all!

Hope you had a great weekend! Flew by! Got a lot of nitpicky things accomplished though! Still dealing with a bit of this sore throat thing. My stupid eyes won't stop watering today and I have a scratchy dry throat that won't give up. Probably should go grab a tea, after I type this. :)

Thanks for the nice words! I am excited that Keto is working for me. I feel good and I honestly don't miss the sugar and carbs. Coming from someone with a HUGE sweet tooth too!

@mamainthekitchen we recently tried the 90% cocoa bar and it was good! Nice to have a little treat once in a while.

@KateNkognito congrats on the loss! You got this!

I am planning to stick to my Keto WOE this week and make sure I drink a lot of water!

See you all soon! Off to grab a tea. *cough* :)

Hey, all! Happy Veterans' Day! To any who served, thank you!
I am working away at the last of my assignments. I am hoping to be all done by the weekend before Thanksgiving so I can relax and enjoy the time off.
@Meghan509 I hope you feel better! Glad keto is working so well for you!
@mamainthekitchen I hope you enjoyed the time with the family, even if you *did* have to do all the cooking.

To the lurkers: Hello! I know you are there! ;)

Have a great week! Happy fasting!

    Good morning all!

YES, Happy Veterans' day! I forgot to mention that yesterday, @KateNkognito! Thank you for mentioning.

My Dad served in the Navy. He and my Mom were stationed at Pearl Harbor in the mid to late 60's.

Hope all goes well with school Kate, and you find a great teaching job!

Quiet here at the moment. Supposed to be getting a little bit of rain and snow today, but not really any accumulation which is nice. Then, it will drop around 30 degrees cooler by late afternoon / early evening. Heavy winter coat and gloves are in order for today. Sigh...

Hope everybody is good and the fasters are doing well. Have a great day!

So. Much. Chocolate. I just couldn't help myself today. But now my stomach is making weird noises and I don't feel very good. :s I will remember this the next time I am on a binge. And I have been so good lately...

@Meghan509 That sounds like the weather we got Sunday night into Monday. It dropped 30 degrees and got WINDY. I hope you are feeling better today!

Going to go and face the consequences of my actions. My poor tummy!

    Good afternoon all!

Turned in to a busy morning today. Had a few calls back to back and then boom, it is lunch time! Jeez... Where does the time go?

@KateNkognito Our weather turned REALLY COLD here, but otherwise uneventful!
I hope you feel better! Try some herbal tea to see if it will settle your stomach.

Rolling along here. Had a nice salad for lunch and am looking forward to my PM snacks.

Have a great day all. See you around soon. :)

    Hey everyone...I missed a lot.

Congrats Meghan on the pants challenge! I like Steely Dan as well.

I like the fall too Kate (and chocolate ;) ). Finally dropped below freezing last night and the electricity goes out for 7 hours. Geez, hate to see what's going to happen if we ever get snow again.

Mama...I'm with you. Lots has happened the last few weeks and, well, neither my wife nor I are actively on keto. It's more difficult going it alone when you have others in the house, but I'll have to figure it out...soon. I think we are setting an irresponsible example here. Back in the rut...again. Looking at a January 2 reboot if my assessment of past events is accurate. Dang we humans are so predictable, lol.

I changed the name of the group to the new one and the description a little; if anyone wants to add anything, please feel free. I'll try to get us up another banner this weekend.

Live long, enjoy life...you beautiful people.

    Good morning all.

@orlcam nice to see you! I am liking the new name and description a lot! Ugh, sorry to hear about the electricity going on. Jeez... We have dealt with that in the past. My guy likes to make fun of me, because when the power is out I get angry. LOL
Hey, don't beat yourself up over being on track or off. Stuff happens. You will get back on track when you can. We have all been there!

I like chocolate too! We found some sugar free chocolate at Trader Joe's that has sugar alcohols instead of "real" sugar and it is a nice treat to have a few squares now and then. With sugar alcohols or Malitol in this case, one must be very careful not to eat too much or the results are tragic! I will spare you the gory details, but one must make sure they remain near a restroom. ;)

Hope everybody is having a good week! Things are same here, but that's okay too. Tonight we are having salmon burgers with a tablespoon of pesto on top. We buy the burgers at Costco and they are pretty good. Got to say I kind of like regular salmon better, but these make a quick and easy dinner!

    Speak to you all soon!

    Good morning all.

Friday morning weigh in today! Down 1.8 lbs! Very happy about that. Should be in pretty good shape for Christmas, when I'll be visiting family down in Florida and needing to wear a bathing suit. :o

Hope everybody is having a good week. Any fun plans for the weekend? We don't have any plans here. Rest and relaxation, before the last full week before Thanksgiving. Where does the time go? Looking forward to having the week of November 25 off for vacation. :)

See you guys soon. Have a great day!

Hey all! Not much to report here. Just chugging along like the Little Engine.

@orlcam I like the name change and new description. Don't worry, you will get back on track. I think the best example that you can set is to get back at it, even when you stumble. :)

@Meghan509 Woo Hoo! Congrats on the loss! You will feel fabulous in your bathing suit!

@mamainthekitchen I hope you are doing well!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It is supposed to be lovely here. I fully plan on going outside and doing homework in the sunshine! B)

-Kate I’m sure you’re busy with homework!! You’ll have so much time on your hands when finished!!
-thanks Orlcam... but heart skipped a beat for a moment... ‘where is MY group!!!’

    Good morning all!

    Happy Monday!

Weekend FLEW by! Mostly relaxing and a little productive. Just sorta counting the days this week, until a week off. :)

Yesterday we did an OMAD day or a One Meal A Day. Trying to mix things up a bit and keep our bodies and metabolism guessing. My guy has been experiencing slow losses lately and it is starting to bug him. I have been there, and I feel bad... :( I think he needs to get his calories up to the limit instead of eating less. He is a big guy so he has a decent limit even at a deficit, so sometimes eating that much can be hard. He also has been feeling hungry at times. Not good. Especially on Keto where the higher fat and protein helps keep us feeling more full.

Anyone else have issues when eating too low? I am eating 1200 a day and that is going pretty well for me, but I don't eat breakfast and I start with lunch. Spending 1200 from lunch to dinner is not as tough for me, that way.

Okay I am rambling! Not too much happening here. Just plugging along like you guys. Hope you have a good Monday, especially those of you fasting!

    See you soon!

    Hello all.

Hope the week is going well!

Not too much to report here. Plugging along. Today at work there are meetings going on here, with employees from other sites, breakfasts and lunches ordered and my office is known to over order so there are constant left overs! UGH. Yesterday it started with the instant messages, emails and phone calls. FOOD LEFTOVER UP HERE. COME UP.
    UGH. Leave me alone. :p

Sticking with the food I bring, for lunch and snacks. No treats for me. Have a good one and see you all soon.

Any ideas for the banner? something wintery...thanksgivingy(?)...christmasy? If you have any pics that fit the season, let's see them.

LOL @Meghan509 yep, temptation, food is a double edged sword. Sometimes I wish I could just get a feeding IV and be done w/it...completely avoiding the orifice in my face that contains thousands of tiny sensory receptors yelling at me to take another taste.

On chocolate: Lily's chocolate chips is our goto. They use stevia and erythritol (very low glycemic index sugar alcohol that is digested through the small intestine so it doesn't cause the same discomfort as maltitol, xylitol, etc.) There are 3 flavors including milk chocolate and our local Rouse's carries all 3 (yippee!)...around $6 a bag. Almost double that on Amazon though (don't ship well in the heat.)

@KateNkognito what happened when you went to the group? Did it take some extra steps? The link I keep on my toolbar brought me to the right page. I want to make finding us easier just in case some past members try old links.

    @mamainthekitchen (imagining post) ...yep...amazing. ;)

Again, sorry, I've been committed to and sidetracked by other things, but will try to start posting daily again. This group is always in the back of my mind...I guess it means more to me than I realize. When you get into the habit of coming to a place (even a cyber one) on a regular basis, it becomes a place of comfort...solace. It's the people here I'm sure; always gently urging when I'm motivated and consoling when I fall...thank you for that.

I've been stuck a few times Meghan. Sometimes eating normal calories for about a week can get your bodied primed for another run. With the holidays coming, that could work in y'all's favor. Eating calories below your BMR over an extended amount of time will eventually reduce your metabolism...it depends on how long you've been doing it and how low your intake is. That's actually an interesting concept; something I'm not sure anyone's ever done. A calculator that will give an estimate (based on your BMR and your cal intake) of when your body might shift it's metabolism. Could be a little holiday project. I'm not sure if there have been any new studies done on that specifically. I think the last one I read (when I did the TDEE calculator) was done over 30 years ago and on a sample of 50 Italian men. They were given something like 100 cals a day and it took roughly 9 days before their bodies went into lockdown; metabolism increased before that. If someone has done a reliable study that tests this for different daily calorie intake values, then it should be the only data needed to calculate a result. Hmmm

    Good morning all!

@orlcam cool, thanks for the chocolate info! I have heard of Lily's. Probably in one of the food blogger emails, that I receive.
Yes, temptation is hard! I do find that eliminating the naughty stuff (sugar and not so many carbs) does help "turn off" the cravings. Thanks to Keto for that! But, can't say when I see a commercial or an ad for pizza or pasta that I am not screaming a little, deep down. LOL
I do think it helps me keep my mindset on healthy eating in a good place, when I pop in here. I don't post much on the weekends as I just find it easier to post via my PC then my tablet or phone. Lazy is all... :)
Thanks for the info on calories. So far my guy weighed in today and he had lost the pound he was up from last week. Going in the right direction!
With Keto we have to keep a good track of our calories and ratios and keep tweaking where we can. Carbs under 20 and Fat and Protein in a happy place where we feel full and we are not deteriorating muscle mass by eating too little protein, etc... Definitely a learning process and every body is a little different. Thank you My Fitness Pal for the help with tracking!
Yes, I think we will do some calorie cycling over the holidays to mix things up and keep our metabolism guessing. Good advice!

Work has been a little busy but all in all I can't complain. A short time ago I had my coworker tell me that extra desserts were ordered by mistake and stuff was up for grabs (all before noon sigh)... I said thanks I am fine. Ugh. Today should be last of all the extra food around here. Sheesh and it is not even the Christmas Season yet! :o

Have a great day all! See you soon. Cheers with my big cup of water! :D
