This was my view from the second floor porch ( terraza).
Yesterday, I spent most of the day sitting on the porch watching and listening to the diverse sights and sounds of the neighborhood.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be up early to walk about 1 mile to the entrance to hike the paths of a Central American ecological center for the investigation and preservation of tropical environment.
I’ll take photos

In the background of the photo you can see a line of clouds which cover the volcano and its foothills. In Spanish the word they use to signify “foothills” is “falda” it means “skirt”. That seems to be a better description of what foothills actually look like.

BTW: here everyone calls me, Don Ricardo
“Don” is just an honorific for being a senior citizen male. My wife is Doña Rosita11 -

Beautiful! Yes, do keep the pictures coming! Enjoy your hike today!3

Love the photos!
Today will be another pass day as my mom is visiting. Going out to a recommended restaurant and then a play tonight. This morning I'm making the pie crust and quiche custard for tomorrow's at-home brunch.5 -
Proud of myself: today I passed on both a trip to Subway for lunch, plus I went to the grocery store and resisted the temptation to slip my favorite candy bar that cost less than a dollar into the shopping cart at the grocery store.6

Wow O, Don Ricardo. Thank you for this breathtaking picture. I can't stop looking at it.1

Exercise: Yes. As I was working in Marseille today, leaving early and returning late, I just walked for 25 minutes from the station to the venue.
Calories: Yes, stayed under. I'd prepared both a lunchbox and an evening meal yesterday. I was especially grateful for the latter as I came home starving.
Tracking: Yes, logged everything.
I look forward to a lie-in tomorrow, was up at 5.30 this morning and didn't even snooze on the coach...3 -

weird day of eating but stayed within calories, did a great workout, and slowly yet patiently trying to gain a stray cat's trust (to at least let me touch him) (he comes to our back porch everyday in the last couple weeks, and he's always sitting right at the door, sending mixed signals of him wanting to be with us but not letting us actually touch him) (been hand feeding him treats like chicken and canned food... so far it's gone from him not wanting to eat from ur hand, to hissing & wacking at ur hand as he takes the food from u, and now he licked the wet food right off my hand!).
Think I'll work on yoga tomorrow I hate push ups and refuse to do them but I love chaturanga and I see that as a way to sneak in push ups into my exercise routine lmao
Oh! I found out this morning I lost 3-4lbs so far! 143 --> 139, my 1st goal is to reach 130lb... I haven't seen that number since last December. No rush though! But to hit it by January isn't a far reach, so I'm gonna do my best to continue being mindful of how I eat and treat my body especially around the Holidays. Nothing will stop me from baking but I can at least get used to just eating a small portion of what I make as long as I can fit it into my calories
Your pics are beautiful as always @RangerRickL ! Where did you travel to??, maybe you said so in a previous post but I likely missed it lol.2 -
Today was a little out of the norm....went to a fundraiser dinner. Since I wasn’t sure how the menu would play out I opted to forego lunch and just eat once today. Turned out okay playing it conservatively with the calories....
Exercise: Y ...12K steps including 4.1 miles on the treadmill @5% and 3.9 mph
Calories Y ..... about 300 under

exercise ?
budget ?

3 x yes
Managed to get out at first light. It was above freezing but barely. Didn't go to the canyon. Maybe tomorrow. Instead went to the 10k loop for hill repeats on the climb segment. 10k loop is kind of "foothills" but really it is the west facing slope of the mountain. So the mountain is kind of shaded by itself while the sun comes up everywhere else. In the canyon the sun doesn't penetrate until until it gets kind of high in the sky. So it is way colder in there. It is a different climate. They got an environment word for it that I can't think of just now.
On the loop I seen Trail Runner Girl. She is a dedicated runner. I asked her if two laps around the loop was a half marathon. She say "no it's only 12 miles." Heh! Only 12 miles. I'm going to ask her how many laps she done around that thing in her lifetime. I bet hundreds.
@RangerRickL got me to thinking about Central America. I got a weird memory of being down there one time. Rick talks about the "sounds" of neighborhoods. I was in this neighborhood that was kind of like a gated community. All of the people there had housekeepers. I guess you could say maids. It wasn't like they were all that wealthy. Those people here would be middle class and wouldn't likely have housekeepers except maybe some of them would have regular babysitters.
But the memory I have is of the maids or housekeepers singing. They were all out in their backyards at the same time I think hanging clothes. They were singing. I think they were singing church songs. It sounded like a choir or something but each choir member separated by a backyard fence. It was beautiful.
Then again, maybe it was only a dream.
Maybe I put a picture of foothills...3 -
Yes to all 3.2

Pass Days remaining -1 Not in Winners’ Circle. I knew this time period would be tough this the dieting beforehand & I will be on “straight & narrow” throughout Dec as right now is when we’re seeing family!
I knew it would be difficult.3 -
Morning run (which included walking - I need to eat first, I don't have the stamina for fasted cardio these days!) Then work, chaos reigned with my little seal puppy causing drama (and trying to bite me when I tried to rescue her and get her back to her mom who was freaking out. She didn't break the skin, but proved she is most definitely mommy child!) A colleague followed me home and finally sorted out our fibre so I can cancel adsl and my phone line!!!! It only took 4 months to get it sorted out. Fair eating choices (oh, I stopped by at our club jiu jitsu competition and had to rush back to work so missed my friend get her purple belt) and within the calorie zone.
Still on track to make that winner circle!2 -
