Another short 25 minute walk. And a long 7 hour drive through Lewis Pass. It is absolutely stunning and very humbling!
We always go away every Christmas. It started when the very first Christmas with my inlaws tuned into a cross country drive to satisfy everyone's need and I absolutely hated it. The next year, I quietly booked us a trip to Wales over Christmas and New Year and it's become our tradition. Now the kids are here, it makes life a wholelot easier. We don't give presents(travel with only backpacks) and go somewhere new every year.
We're on a 2 week road trip now so have all the family with us and keep in touch with the rest via Skype and WhatsApp.
As we're swapping our way round, (5 house swaps) each house has been like a new present! Our current swap is a working farm, we've collected eggs, baked ginger bread men, met the locals (chickens, sheep and some goats) - the children have also been given rides on the tractor! They love it!1 -
