Hehehe! I said I wasn’t ridiculously over, but then I started drinking. I’m way over...4

Taking a pass day. 2/32
-
Exercise? Yes - 35 minutes of walking/jogging on treadmill
Under Calories? No
Tracked? No
Pass day #3 - bad streak - tomorrow will be another hard day, but I will try to get back on track by Monday- I don't think I will make the winners circle this month3 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, a dog walk and walk for myself, about 80 minutes total. We had strange weather today, in the 60s F, when it's usually 30 or 40 F. Great not to wear a coat outside. Now at night it's still warm, but the wind has picked up.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, a couple hundred under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes3 -
I told myself I was going to track calories today, and it just didn't happen. However I need to develop the habit of posting in the UAC again, so this is today's post. Since I am joining so late in the month, I think it's only fair for me to be disqualified for this month.
My two cents. I wouldn't worry about joining late. This is a friendly group. It's great to make the winner's circle, but I feel the biggest benefit is just showing up and posting here. It helps me to track my food and exercise. My good habits aren't established yet.5 -
@KCJen
You are a welcome part of this team everyday and any day!
Good to have you active with us again!

Interesting reading everyone's posts that today seemed to be tough for a lot of folks. Wonder if it's because it's a Saturday or something about January...
Pass for me too. I did a 45+ min walk and 10k steps and tracked but was 48 cal over. Could be worse though4 -

@nodm thanks for the confirmation! I made entries in my spreadsheet, and the %s weren't adding up to 100% except in the test case, so I wasn't sure what I had done wrong.1

Pass day 2/3, no gym and family pizza night 😊3

@LesIckaBod, you're welcome! IMHO, It will not add up to 100% because we are comparing apples to oranges and the calorie calculations that we get from MFP are approximate. We are comparing the more accurate calorie (scientific) values of the macros (4/4/9) against the approximated daily calorie values calculated by MFP, so it will not be perfect. The thermic effect of food also adds to the variability. The main thing for me to remember is to know approximately where my macro splits are and not to "sweat" the details. (no pun intended). Good luck!1
-
@LesIckaBod, also, if you go to the macros and select "week view" it will give you the average split for the week.2
-
@designerdiscounts, Congrats! It's an awesome feeling to hit goal!2

As someone who has studied nutrition (although I never completed my masters after being injured in a car accident), the 4/4/9 numbers are actually rounded averages. They made it easy to calculate back when calculators and computers were not available. That's one reason you won't get exact macros. Some of the entries in MFP will be calculated based on 4/4/9 and others will be from labs where macros are determined more exactly. It's probably best not to fret about it, though. 😁

@bold_rabbit, that’s true. Lots of variability that result due to approximation in the calculations of macros, calories and even energy expenditure. That’s why I don’t sweat the details. It’s better for me to keep it simple so I can do this for life. Thanks for your input. 👍
