Welcome, @7Liana7! You've found the best group of people on MFP! I homeschooled both of my sons all the way through. We are so thankful we did it!2

Thanks! It's hard but every week I can actually see their intellectual growth and that makes it so worth it!3

Hi! I have had MyFitnessPal for years now, but I've been pretty terrible at actually using it consistently, so I hope this can be a tool to get me back into the habit. I am 5'11", and I got up to a high weight of 225lbs in college. Since then (about 2 years), I've lost 45 pounds and gotten down to 180. Now I've hit a plateau, mostly due to a lack of discipline and momentum, and I know that the solution is to get back to good habits. Wish me luck!6

Howdy from Texas! I rejoined MFP about 14 days ago. I work from home and also homeschool one of my children. I'm finally able to exercise again after a looong recovery and I'm excited...but know I'll need to take it easy...with consistency. I want to get back to the point that I can do what used to be my favorite exercises...but know that if I rush things - I'll be injured. (it was cardio kickboxing workouts with bags etc...) I'm going to be playing with my calories using Fitness Frog and another site - so my calories reflected on MFP are a little higher - little lower sometimes. In keeping with the challenge I will be adhering to my set goals regardless. My fitness journey is going to be a long term one. I am ultimately - over about 3 yrs - going to lose 140ish lbs. My goal for this year is 50 by year end. I am joining this challenge to have, just as the name suggests, accountability and also, community. Here's to hard work, dedication and like mindedness!4

Hello. I’m Ariana from Connecticut. I’ve been up and down in weight for years now and really want to concentrate on getting my healthy, athletic body back once and for all. This seems like a great group.5

Hi,
I've been a member since August but January was a terrible month for me. I'm determined to aim for the Winner's Circle in February since I think having that as a goal helps me avoid taking a bunch of pass days. Excited!4 -
I got a bit off track in January while on leave with various friends visiting etc but I'm ready to get back on track. Physio is happy for me to try anything at Jiu Jitsu as long as my shoulder handles it so I can start building back to full strength! 23 Feb will be a year since I was at full fitness so I would like to see a decent improvement in the next 3 weeks, but I'm also aware that it took me a year to get this unfit and will take time to get back to my pre 2019 state! Can't wait to show the world how much I can do with one kidney!4

I find it really hard to keep on track. I buckle under when stressed by losing my routines, going without exercise, eating 'easy', i.e. comfort food, drinking too much. I do have a lot of stress in my life, and am looking for better ways to manage it, like going for a walk, or jumping around to a video - bought one now! I travel a lot by necessity, which means lots of meals in restaurants and lack of possibility to count calories. Still, this group is extremely helpful and remaining accountable a really important factor to achieving a healthier way of life, as well as to losing another 15kg, essential to my wellbeing - I have a knee, damaged badly in an accident 20 years ago, which doesn't like to carry the extra weight, especially now I'm getting older. I'm 68.5

Hello everyone.
I am new to the group and thankful I found it. I joined the challenge because it's seems like a great place for support and accountability.
I joined MFP at the end of August 2019 and did great through the end of December. As of January 31st I am down 34 pounds. I remained strong all through the holidays, but got a little sloppy with my eating choices and exercise routine during January. I am dedicating the month of February to close those gaps.
I am very close to my goal of total weight loss of 40 pounds. I know if I do what I am supposed to do I will hit my goal this month and then it's off to maintenance. I have lost those 40 pounds twice (and soon to be a third time) over the past 20 years. I know every time I stop logging all of my intake I slowly gain the weight back.
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone this month.

Hi all! Welcome to returnees and newcomers.
And a thousand thanks to our leader, @RangerRickL for helping us stay accountable.
I’m Terri from Northern Ireland. Back for my 16th month. Working on improving my fitness and health. Made the Winners Circle 15 times so far.
Original Goal for 2019 was to reach 155lbs, which I achieved, and revised down to <150lbs. Achieved the upper 140s in early Dec, then popped up a little over Christmas. Working my way back down to my lowest weight in 4 decades!
UAC is a good place for anyone to start the practicing of new habits, in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere.
Age: 73; Height 5’2”; Female
SW: 227lbs (Mar 2014)
LW: 146.8 Nov 2019
UGW: 140s (this may change when I get there
CW: 150.1- For the last 3 years I have tended to bounce up and down between 160 - 170. Occasionally I bounced up/down a little more.
- My ideal situation would be to be below 155, to allow me some wiggle room for holidays/celebrations, hence my original goal for 2019, which I have now revised down a little.
- I use CI/CO and a variety exercise for extra calories.
- Logic would suggest that I have found a natural comfortable weight, and, according to modern BMI calculation, I am in the upper range of normal for my age and height. However, logic doesn't always dictate our desires and feelings. 😂
- Getting and staying healthy and fit requires the development of a permanent lifestyle reset.
- Replacing unhelpful habits with more useful ones is key to to the process.
- Losing weight is only one of the elements.
- Eating healthy and staying actively is not OPTIONAL, but an ABSOLUTE ESSENTIAL.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts on weight which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be several lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a permanent lifestyle change for most people.

Hi everyone, I have been sitting on the fence but I would like to join for February.
I need accountability more for the evenings than the day. Sitting in front of the TV with a good film, chocolate and wine has to stop. I'm not gaining but I am not losing either.
Being stagnant is not winning........and its not healthy.
I joined mainly because of so many people saying this was a great group to be in and to start to change habits.
Thank you to the Ranger.7 -
Hello. Just rejoined MFP today and love how this group sounds. Looking to concentrate on getting my healthy, athletic body back FINALLY!4

Looks great. Joined. Need all the accountability I can get. Looked before for a positive and focused group that fits me. This is exactly what I need -- Weight loss and health improvement goals, daily habits formed. First challenge or group. Ready for a great month. Thank you...3

HI there I'm Vikki - I need this accountability, so thanks for letting me join, I have been trying to lose weight since Sept, although Dec was a disaster, and Jan hasn't been awful but not great either.. I've been pretty good with my exercise, so I'd like to keep that going...5

Didn't feel like working out tonight.....but I did it and now I feel great. Trying to make working out just part of my everyday. Calories logged and under. Taking one day at a time :-)3

Hello Everyone I am looking forward to starting with you tomorrow. With 20+ pounds to get rid off. If I can stick with the UAC challlenge .. I feel like I will see some positive changes moving forward. Thanks!!!5
