) Tracking Right Now! Tracking of caloric intake and caloric output should be done contemporaneously...Right Now!
If you wait until the end of the day to track your calories, you are fooling yourself and missing out on critical feedback. When you use the MFP app to record your calories as you consume them, you will be much more thoughtful about what you put into your body. In addition, if you choose to go a little heavy at breakfast or lunch, you will have that information in time to make adjustments for later in the day. For example: If you discover that you only have 350 calories left for your evening meal, you can make good choices to both eat lightly and/or do some evening exercise.
Whether or not you choose to 'eat back' some or all of the exercise calories that you 'earn' is up to you. The UAC has no rules about how you choose to spend or use your exercise calories.
In fact, our teammates vary considerably in how they treat their exercise calories.
If you have been with the UAC for awhile, please share your own personal choices in how you treat exercise calories.
Personally, I am encouraged to do more exercise when I know that it gives me an increase above my base caloric limit of 2000 calories per day.

Yes x 3. Exercise was plenty of walking.
An NSV (not on NSV day but I'll forget). A local mum thought that I didn't have a car because she always sees me walking from place to place (I do have a car but walk when possible).
At the moment I'm on maternity leave from work so have the luxury of tracking at the time. When I'm at work I can't and it has to wait.
In general, I try not to eat back my exercise calories. I sometimes dip into them but don't eat them all. The MFP database is definitely over generous with how many calories it gives too so I'm mindful and cautious of that.11 -

A good day mostly because I got to do Jiu Jitsu. I didn't get through the whole class because the technique was very ankle intensive and I could feel that mine had enough. Then I got distracted looking after team captains baby, but I did one round of line drills, which is better than the last year.
Also had a rehab session and did some of my rehab while waiting for Jiu Jitsu.
Food was easy today as I pre logged what I had prepared, didn't take money with me and was out from 6am till after 9pm. I try and Pre log my food so if things change I just need to edit which is quicker and I have an idea of how much I have to play with. I stick to a specific calorie amount regardless of exercise, because that works better for me.
My attitude was bad last week but a weekend of camping and getting back to training is a great help with correcting that.8 -

45 minutes of swimming intensely.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Nope. Don't feel too bad about it though. 2100 calories, -300 from exercises... I won't be gaining weight and it was all from healthy food. Back on track tomorrow. skip day!
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
Yes, I did. So I would not go overboard too much. This really helped!8 -
I’ll take a pass today. I exercised and tracked but calories were about 100-200 over. I had a few extra treats: a large cookie, a cappuccino and a piece of chocolate so I’ve blown my calorie budget.8

Declaring today a total wash out. Started with a cucumber sandwich about 2:00AM and just continued with anything and everything for the rest of the day. I need to get my sleep pattern functional, again. Travel has disrupted it in a major way. Pass day #1.5 -

Exercise? YES
Calorie budget? YES.
No exercise calories used even though in menstrual cycle - this is a huge victory for an emotional overeater like me.
Track? YES.
Ranger Rick's?
I'm a newbie so this 1st month I'm giving myself grace to use exercise calories if needed for a particularly stressful or extreme cravings due to menstrual cycle since I'm an emotional overeater. I will still shoot for not using exercise calories this month and next month I will use the 3 passes if I use exercise calories.6 -

Exercise: Yes, got a 30 minute Hip PT/squats/step-ups done at home
Calories: Yes, almost 200 under
Logged: Yes
Regarding logging: As the main "CHEF" in the family (it's just my husband and I now), I know what we're eating everyday so I pre-log it all. I may change my mind at some point, or hubby may ask for something different, but generally I find if I pre-log our meals and snacks it's much easier to stick to my calorie and macro goals.8 -
