We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.nn

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.

Topic: Energizing Foods

Are there certain foods that give you more energy than other foods? Are these a regular part of your diet, or do you only reach for them when you feel energy depleted?

Bonus: Is your caffeine intake up or down since being in quarantine?

Caffeine down. (Watching the Diet Coke go down)
Coffee, the usual 12 cup carafe of strong black, no sugar, French roast.

I do decafe coffee but there still is a little that sneaks through I think. But I am drinking more of it. As far as energizing foods I'd have to throw in a pitch for some of the foods that have carbs in them. I just have to be careful with this group for the obvious reasons. Some protein snacks just as honey graham crackers with some peanut butter on them will do the trick as well.

Energy- bananas are #1. But any fresh fruit is a good pick.

    Caffeine is unchanged.

Grapefruit is one of my go-to energy foods. Very filling, too.

I usually drink 1 cup each morning. I currently and drinking 1-3 cups/day.
