We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.
This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Topic: Staying Sane (How are you doing it now?)
TOL and I are pretty lucky. We have a 26 yr. old granddaughter (who is out of work, due to Carona19) living with us, so that breaks up the one on one.
We’re all doing WW, so there’s plenty to discuss foodwise, as well as other topics.
I’ve restarted my stretching and weight exercises again, with quite a few more added from my current round of PT for the back. (Stenosis is developing into scoliosis ☹ ) Also went for a short walk with alpine sticks, to keep me straight, and hope to do more, as the weather and I improve.
I just finished up watching (1 at a time) the last 2 season’s of Star Trek Discovery on CBS All Access. Season 3 starts soon. TOL and I have to get caught up with Picard, and the DVR is slowly getting depleted, as the network shows are getting ready for hiatus.
The weather has started to get warmer (in New Hampshire’s southern tier) , so yard work and gardening has started.
All in all, we try to stay busy.

Staying busy is not an issue right now. I'm working remotely, and I continue to be surprised by how much "work" I have to do. These are mostly Zoom meetings and things like that, but that fills up my M-F without a problem. Our three kids (two college-age, one high-school) are all back at home, so there's lots of activity here as well.
The real thing is trying to get out of the house regularly. We try to get in a good walk per day, plus I am still exercising M-F (three days of running outside and two days of Stairmaster at home).
I think the biggest "sanity" issue right now is that everyone has to be extra-respectful of each-other's time and space. For example, I am on calls most of the day, and that means that the kids have to try to be more quiet than they might be. I work in our home office, but it doesn't have a door on it and it's right off the kitchen, so noise can be an issue.
Likewise, as a family, it's been a few years since we've all lived under the same roof. There are independence issues for our college-age kids, and so that's creating some stress.
Finally, we're preparing for Passover. That is a intensive process of removing all leavened products and getting all of the kosher-for-Passover stuff out. We're avoiding the grocery store as much as possible, but that means it's more challenging to get all of the food we need for the seders and beyond.

Yeah its a new world for me living with 4 adult females, 1 4 year old female and 3 female dogs (as opposed to 1 dog and 1 wife just 2 and a half weeks ago. Its a world of limited privacy, different menu items as 1 is gluten free and the other is dairy free due to food sensitivity, As well as just the indefinite time frames that this will be going on for. I think it would be easier for me personally if we had a better handle on how long we will need to continue this life style, but it seems to be anyones guess right now. I keep myself busy with walks and yardwork, and cooking. I am the master chef in the house, last Saturday I smoked a brisket for dinner, its a 14 hour cook time, but I enjoy doing it, and I would only do it for a crowd as a smoked brisket would simply be too big for just my wife & me.
Anyway tonight is a low points version of chicken scarpiello, makes a big pot with lots of veggies, last week it was a Salmon Tagine again a large pot with lots of veggies.
Lots of work but at least it keeps me busy.

We have our adult son here who works from home, but we don't see him much during the day. I have been retired for 3 years now and am used to being home and DW who is still working is beginning to adjust to being home indoors all day and is beginning to find activities. We try to avoid having the TV on all the time. I miss shopping and have not adjusted to letting DW do the shopping. I have only gone once in 3 weeks to try Senior hours which was crowded. I am trying to talk her into letting me go with her today. The biggest change for me, other than shopping as part of my meal planning, is having people around all the time. I am kinda used to having my nice quiet house to myself. But I have free labor for the garden to do the things my back doesn't let me do. She's of tough Canadian stock.0

I am working, mostly at home, but I also have to go into the lab periodically. I am in the lab today.
I also am studying Spanish, as well as working on some writing.

I'm just as busy with work as I was when I was on campus. I'm fortunate that we have a rental property just a few miles from home where I can go and work during the day. It was my business location when I was self-employed many years ago and I've kept a small portion of the property for my own use.
Since the fitness center is closed, I've been riding my bike instead of driving my car. I take a longer route in the morning so that I can get at least 60 minutes of riding every day. It usually ends up being 90-120 minutes round trip for the day.
I am still in mourning, though, that all plans for 2020 have been cancelled. I was supposed to be heading to Virginia over the holiday weekend to see dear friends. This would have been the 5th spring in a row that I've traveled out to see them. I know they will welcome me later in the year but since no one knows when things might return to some form of a new normal, I can't make any plans.0 -
Just trying to stay grounded trying to developed some sort of routine. I was already grounded by the surgeries already but getting better and took a short walk with DW and our Yorkie Miles yesterday only 1200 steps. That's a start.
Being cooped in @ home sure works on the nerves in that there is so much work to be done as in regular work, house work, on line work and the list goes on. It might be that getting behind and trying to catch up may be the issue.
Anyway we to have many things to be grateful for. One being I survived my surgeries. Everything else seems to be trivial when it comes to health.

I'm working from home for the most part, but go into the office some days as necessary.
The trips into the office helps with the sanity. Also, daily walks and getting some fresh air.
On the flip side, with the stay at home order I'm finding that I'm eating healthier than ever. No restaurant outings, not even tempted to do carry out. Home cooked meals only we're all taking turns and having fun with that.
Getting ahead on work around the house (that I normally can't find time to do).
Covid-19 is hurting a lot of people in many ways. Staying healthy and counting my blessings.0
