Happy birthday. So sorry about the ER visit for your son's cut, but it sounds like you had a wonderful dinner otherwise. I did the same thing he did once, trimming shrubbery. Hope all is well now.

@Hollis100, thank you very much! He is still in bed, so I hope that means that the pain wasn't too bad and he was able to sleep. The one good thing about this pandemic? People are not going to ER's unless they feel they absolutely have to, so he did not have to spend hours there, waiting his turn.

@loopydo2017, your daughter has a great birthday, I see! Thank you for the wishes and good for you for not throwing in the towel when you knew you were going to be over. I, on the other hand, did eat more than I really wanted, because I knew it was on over day. I'll have to be more aware of that next time.

It was my birthday and my son was in charge of making my birthday dinner. It was wonderful
(salmon, jasmine rice, sauteed vegetables, bruschetta bread, cheesecake for dessert), and I enjoyed every bite! He did slice the top of his pinky off using a very sharp vegetable peeler and had to go to the ER to get stitches to stop the bleeding, so it was memorable as well!!

@HASWLRS. Happy birthday. Hope it was a memorable day for other reasons too.

I hope your son is fine now. Finger injuries can be painful for a while.

@craigo3154, it was memorable also because both boys were home. Next year at this time, one will be living in a house with two room mates very nearby, but the other one will be in the Czech Republic.

    Pass #6
Still struggling to detox from sugar... need to beat March's 9 passes... more responsibilities and pressures for distance learning.

    NSVs

    1. Still well within normal bmi range on Asian American scale so no longer obese on that same scale

2.Compliments: Today, my mom who rarely compliments me said I look as pretty as I did in high school as head flier cheerleader. Several of old SB friends said I look younger, slim, skinny mini, etc. Church stranger stopped me to tell me that I'm gorgeous. I've never been called that not even by my hubby. (Hubby calls me beautiful regardless what weight)

    3. No longer wearing tent dresses, large sizes, and size 12s but now 4, 2, and 0 and small and extra small only

    4. Feeling fit, attractive, and good about myself as is instead of wanting to hide in baggy clothes or blend in by standing behind someone when taking pictures or wear spanks/corset to suck it in

    5. No muffin top

    6. Wanting to exercise daily and be active because have more energy

    7. More muscle definition while not bulkingdue to increases weights and reps

Exercise? Yes, one of those low impact videos that @Katmary71 was saying are now too easy for her! Not for me though.....I don't know how many times I stopped that thing to get my breathing back under control!

    Logged? No.
    Under? No way.

Happy birthday! You have such a sweet and loving son - loves you so much he bled for you... I hope he heals fast and not traumatized. I had a similar incident with a mandolin and haven't used one since...

@RangerRickL, yes, it is definitely a little on the macabre side of birthday greetings, but I like it in this case! Thank you!

Thank you, ladies! Yes, he's a good son, but he's also a walking billboard for injuries resulting from accidents! It all started when he was 8 and fell off his bike and had to have pins put in. Since then, he's had stitches in his head from cracking it on cement steps goofing around at the arena, he broke his knuckle, taking a swing at his buddy's helmet in the dressing room, he broke his ankle drunkenly stumbling down some steps on St. Patrick's Day two years ago and last New Year's Eve he was attacked by a dog walking home from a party and had to have stitches in his arm. Okay, the last one wasn't an accident, but it was one more time he had to have stitches!
