Those who have joined the UAC recently would rightly conclude that I live in the desert Southwest of the USA. That is partially true. My full time home is a horse farm about 50 miles west of downtown Chicago, Illinois in the temperate 4 seasons climate of the Midwest of the USA.
Last weekend a friend who is a commercial photographer took this photo of two of my 3 horses...

The barn is over 100 years old. I’ve never chosen to repaint it9

I’m from outside Chicago and lived in the city of Chicago almost all of my adult life. Love it there. I hope you can get back to it this summer. @RangerRickL
YesX 3 for me
Went on a short walk today. My husband and I are so clueless about where we live sometimes. We find all kinds of hidden treasures. We already know of two places we can get great views of My Fuji on trail hikes. We discovered another today so close to our house in a Buddhist temple that is part of an extremely important pilgrimage here in Japan. I feel like an idiot for not recognized what’s in our small neighborhood. We live in a beach town so that’s our normal place to go. The beach is closed now so we have been exploring all the hidden jems. Here is our view one of walks.17 -

Very much how we felt when visiting Winchester UK last year! (and Cornwall, UK is even more so near the coast!)5 -

Exercised: Yes (7.5km walk in 61 mins - hills)
Tracked: Yes
Budget: Yes
Fastest walk to date on the 7.5km trail. 60 mins, 40 seconds. Would be nice to beat 60 mins.
Returned holter monitor this morning. All seemed fine in first look at a data. Will find out full results in a couple of weeks at the TIA clinic.
Appointment with ophthalmologist tomorrow to see how eye is progressing.
Feel like I have a never ending stream of medical appointments recently. I'll take it as an excuse to get out of the house.19 -
Morning run with another beautiful sunrise, busy day at work which included cleaning the penguin enclosure (layers of guano to get through). Got home just in time for a shower to remove the guano and jump onto zoom to help my house mate take Jiu Jitsu kids class as coach was unavailable. Then adults zoom Jiu Jitsu class. I made Thai butternut soup for supper. It was yummy. It wasn't planned but today turned out to be a plant based day. I'm not aiming to focus on that side of things but do enjoy various veggie or even vegan choices and on occasion they collide and give me a full day. (Vegan until supper today because of the cheese toast to do in the soup, and chocolate for dessert).
All good on all three categories for the day.
I'm going to push my run a bit longer on Saturday to celebrate kidney donor athletes with my friends around the world. We are doing a virtual fun run together this weekend to celebrate that we got to save someone's life and return to our sport!10 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yup! Our usual morning walk, a mini body weight workout, and an impromptu 30 minute cardio session because I didn’t want to be over on my calories today. 🤣 This is proof this group challenge is good for me.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes! Winded up not even eating all of my exercise calories.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes! I even tracked the whole box of Annie’s macaroni and cheese I ate for dinner. I had a craving so I indulged and ate it mindfully enjoying every single bite!11 -

Still only 1 Pass Day used!11 -
Yes x 3. Came in under a thousand calories due to a stomach thing that is going around. I’m sure I’ll make up for it tomorrow. Someone is providing first shift with bbq turkey plates for us, and believe me! I can eat a heck of a lot of eastern N.C. bbq turkey! Walked for just under an hour today. Was off work, so went to Lowe’s to get paint cards, then the grocery store.
We are draining our in ground pool, given how old the water was, so much vegetation in it, and are switching from chlorine to salt water. Once all the leaves dry up, I’ll be in there with a push broom and huge dust pan, then we will pressure wash and make any needed repairs to the fiberglass.
This weekend we are painting our bedroom, the living room and the hallway before the new flooring goes down. We are going for a beach cottage vibe, so I got cards of various shades of grey, blue and green.this weekend is going to be a busy one for sure!13 -

exercise "on" day
tracking - yes
budget - yesKind of early for me to claim "kitchen closed" but I am saying it.
Got climb today. My average is on target for my goal.
Put a picture of something kind of silly.
I always see these places, people like to stack up rocks.
It is some kind of hobby or game. Maybe it is a drinking game somehow.
If you are stacking up the rocks and they fall over you have to take a drink.
Heh! I don't know.
What are you going to do when you are outside and got time on your hands?
Might be as fun as fishing, who knows?
But right there where these rocks are is by a cave that was occupied by ancients supposedly 10 or 11 thousand years ago.
Now it is kind of a high school party place at night.
Heh! Those were the days.
On the right edge of that picture is an apple tree.
I think it might have been planted by Johnny Appleseed.
I seen Leonard the Plumber eat an apple or two from there.
I always thought about it but never have.8 -
Tracked logged stayed under played guitar for relaxing exercise this afternoon loved the barn and the horses11

Well, as usual - I type a long post and delete it. Going to do some zumba after I walk my dog.
Trying to create a new routine for myself regarding sleep schedule.

Yes x3
Today was a rest day for my exercise routine so I just went on a 45 minute walk in the neighborhood with my husband.
Tried making no-knead wheat bread for the first time today rather than regular knead bread. Forgot to oil the pans so taking the loafs out was quite the adventure 😂 I'm definitely a better cook than baker it seems. Today was also a no-wine day.8 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes, 420 minutes, a 60 minute walk and about 6 hours disinfecting the public areas of my workplace because of the virus.

@RangerRickL beautiful photo and very sweet, endearing horses
@lexabeep another wonderful photo. Mt. Fuji is very clear in the distance.
@oldDogBiking people do that where I live too, stack rocks! I live across the road from a national park that was once an American Civil War battlefield. The land is full of rocks, from huge boulders to small stones. I always find stacks of rocks and wondered if they had some meaning. Totally nuts.4 -
Exercise: 73 minutes of very active hiking. I got up at 4:30 a.m. to get out there before the heat.
Calories: good
Tracking: good
Tomorrow, Rose and I will head 1.5 hours north of Phoenix and hike the Mogollon Rim of the Colorado Plateau. I'll have photos.
@lexabeep Thanks for your photo of Mt. Fuji! You are a long way from Chicago now!!!
I plan to go home as soon as the weather is consistently above 70 degrees F. This week it's averaging only 55 degrees. That is unseasonably cool for May.
I love to be with horses. In the warm weather, I ride several times per week. Horses keep you honest. I do love the relationship with them.6 -
