Awesome day for me. How can it not be when it is as hot as a hot summer day, just before winter starts. Morning run was touch as I am now too fit to easily get the heart rate I need to max out my points (insurance reward program). Once I accepted the fact I wasn't going to get all the points, I did enjoy it. Beautiful sunrise on the run!
Very busy day at work, but last one of the shift so that means I get 4 days off. We were shock treating one of the seal pools, so no swimming with them today. Instead, I swam without the penguins. They all stood on the side of the pool and when my colleague pushed them into the water they all swam straight for the exit ramp and avoided me totally. We will have to do this a bit more often so they get used to it.
Evening Jiu Jitsu and yoga. Honestly, the 10-20 minute yoga sessions we are doing are really amazing at helping relieve the tightness. It helps doing it together with my house mate as one of us is normally keen, and convinces the other to do it.
Food was all good because it was preplanned. We did stop for coffee, but my colleague bought this time so I didn't even take money into the shop so could not give into temptation. Still got 200 calories over.11 -

I had my second zoom court hearing today. Prior to this it was all audio. It’s nice to appear in court in a dress, blazer, and leggings under the dress and socks. I am always afraid a judge will say stand up to make sure people aren’t wearing shorts or worse. The fact that I had to shower and do something with my hair beforehand was weird but if that’s the worst thing that happens to me this year I am so good.

Omg, y’all! 🥱🥱🥱
Exercised 232/20 minutes, logged everything, ate some exercise calories, but still have over 640 left.
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve gone from flying a desk six hours and moving two hours to flying a desk for two hours and moving patients for six! I am getting blisters on my hands under the fingers that wear rings. My entire body hurts, because 200+ pound patients on an already heavy bed, back to back for hours is kicking my tail. I’m not as young as most of my staff (55 next month) and it shows! Most of my transports were NOT the usual. I had one on a bed I wasn’t familiar with and had to be laterally moved to another bed in the hall because the room was too small for two beds and the CVU needed their bed back. I had one patient with a cpap machine coupled with 2 liters of oxygen that was going to go in distress if I didn’t get them to dialysis ASAP.
I try not to complain, but I was an administrative supervisor until a week or so ago, because half my transport team are furloughed. I didn’t sign up for this, but it keeps the mortgage paid. While I do love the interaction with most of my patients? Some are total jerks, like the guy that thought it was hilarious that I was struggling with his bed. Why? Because I’d just moved several bariatric patients before I moved him and my arms and legs were on vibrate.
The census has gone from the low 100’s last week to almost 150 today, but they aren’t calling anyone else back in. 🤯 In July I will have 19 years in with this hospital, but moving to a more physical role in my mid-fifties is not setting well with me. Meanwhile, I have a dispatcher that can barely walk, who answers the occasional phone call and watches news on tv and gospel on YouTube. 🤬 She could have retired six months ago, but she hasn’t. Why would she? It’s easy money. She is what is known as a non-productive FTE, and we all have to do an additional four transports per hour to keep her employed. Productivity during a pandemic really just sucks.

Rest day from calisthenics but went on a neighborhood walk for 50 min. Also did a rest day from wine/alcohol (have been doing 2-3 of those per week). Ate well and stayed under my limit. We ordered some crunchy peanut butter and have been enjoying it the last week. Satisfies cravings in multiple areas, but have to be careful to take a tablespoonful and then put the jar away haha.7 -
yes, yes, and yes, it was a good day!7

good day - but did go a little over on calories...but also did 2 hrs of exercise instead of 1...so...I'm feeling good about it...
I laughed out loud readyornot1234... yes - that would be horrifying if dress code checks became a thing on zoom calls! ;D
juliemouse - that is quite the transition... I guess the positive is that you are definitely getting a lot of extra exercise... as long as you don't get injured... wishing you peace in the storm...and relief soon!
Dory - HOLY CANNELONI... so cool....swimming with penguins and seals!7 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, umpteen million minutes disinfecting the public areas of my workplace because of the virus, plus slow walking (stretched out over 8 hours). I'm trying to do walking meditations while I work.

@readyornot1234 I've successfully avoided going to court. My daughter and law partner, Diana, loves the litigator life. She did not get that from me.2

Exercise: Best cardio day since arriving here 8 weeks ago. I measure my cardio improvement by how far I can climb before going so anaerobic that I have to stop to catch my breath. 80 minutes hiking

Habits are brilliant! Was tired (took a nap which I never do) & didn’t feel like walking - but lo & behold my habit of years (now) kicked in & I got my gear together & our I went. Even my routes are habits. I told myself to just do shorter, but I got in the glow & totally walked past where I was going to turn around rofl YAY!

Another day of kind of slack on exercise.
Track and budget parameters in tolerance though.
So not a total loss but still a pass.4 -
@juliemouse83 - that all sounds terrible. I'm 55 and would not be able to do that. However, I have several pairs of padded, fingerless bike gloves that I wear while cycling and separate pairs for yard work and driving the tractor. The pads prevent blisters. When using them outside, I wear work gloves over them. Maybe your medical gloves will fit over them. That way your hands won't be as sore. As for your feet, if your shoes are more than 6 months old, you are not getting the amount of support you need. Maybe good walking shoes and good padded socks. It all just sounds like an untenable situation made worse by a warm body literally not pulling anyone's weight.3

@Dory_42, that's a great problem to have...."I am now too fit"....
@juliemouse83, feeling for you! (hugs)
@RangerRickL, well done on your cardio improvement!
I am becoming remiss on posting before bed....yes, yes and yes. Exercise was a brisk 23 minute walk.4 -
I don't see my post above, so I guess I haven't done so yet (or else it is languishing somewhere on a previous but incorrect date) - but i DID sign up for the June group!

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes - long outside evening walk with DH; decent pacing-breaks during the workday.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes (with upped daily calorie-level, fitbit doesn't throw as many "exercise credit calories" at me any more .... but still just under, as per stabilization plan)
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Days goals met: 19
Pass days used: 2 (1 pre-planned; 1 unintentional)

I have a serious procrastination problem. I need firm deadlines, procedures, and rules. I do especially well when the smoke I see is about to burst into flames.0 -
@MadisonMolly2017 that is a great way to describe what happens after about 15 minutes of exercise, "but I got in the glow..."1
-
@readyornot1234 You chose an appropriate screen name then..."I do especially well when the smoke...is about to burst into flames."
I like being quick on my feet and witty, but interpersonal combat brings out the dark side in me and it doesn't want to be stuffed back in later.1
