We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.

Monday- misterhub (Greg)
Tuesday- whathapnd (Emmie)

Today's Topic: Memorial Day Menu

Will your menu change substantially today? Or, will it remain basically the same?

Well we will be heading out in a couple of hours for our 1st RV trip of the year, only a few days just for the sake of getting out and about for a while so no big picnic or other plans for us.

We're doing a Memorial Day party menu ala WW. Hamburgers (93%) with Ultra Thin cheddar slices, a multi bean salad, a WW friendly potato salad (portioned out) and corn on the cob. Can hardly wait for dinner.

I'm trying to keep things pretty consistent, regardless of what day it is. It's too easy to rationalize a heavy meal by calling it a "special occasion." Of course, I'm not perfect at this, but it's something I'm working on.

Just another day for me. My plans to do yard work this morning before it got too hot were foiled by a rain storm that rolled through at 5:30am and soaked everything. So I did a long walk (6+ miles) which included watching the Memorial Day Remembrance Convoy go through our neighborhood (the parade was cancelled due to COVID-10). Now it is miserably hot and humid so I'm doing some long overdue filing in my WFH office. I have one more box of stuff that I inherited from my predecessor to sort through. I've been avoiding it for months.

Typical day for us because of the pandemic. Normally we'd be at a big neighborhood gathering.
