@alligotorob Yesterday, he posted that he now weighs 180 pounds which is exactly one half the weight that he was at this max.
Congratulations!11 -

Yesterday, these team members posted that they expect to be in the Winner's Circle. They have less than 4 Pass Days and hope to keep it that way.

Exercised: Yes (7.5km in 64 mins - hills)
Tracked: Yes
Budget: Maybe
Managed to get a walk in before dark. Days are getting shorter here in Melbourne.
I will not be in the May winners circle. (not a surprise)Feel like posting an AA type start. My name is Craig. Its been 11 days since I posted or read UAC.
Sorry for the absence, life has been hectic and I have been barely coping. I have still been tracking and logged into MFP every day.
I've started new medication that has side effects of tiredness and weight gain. Considering I am under BMI 22, weight gain is not really a physical issue. (Though gaining 6 lbs in 2 weeks is disturbing to me. I hope this slows down).
My health has been very up and down. UAC habits have prevented things getting too out of control, but some day have been very touchy. Some setbacks along the way, fortunately nothing unrecoverable.
For my daughter, we have a long haired german shepherd puppy. He arrived 3 days ago and is still a lot of work. The intent is to have him trained to be a mental health service dog for my daughter. This will take at least 18 months. It is clear that my wife and I will need to do the bulk of the training as my daughter is often in no state to contribute productively.
Including a photo of Austin. He is 9 weeks old and already over 8kg.
Austin is being held by my 16yo daughter. My daughter used to be scared of dogs, now she likes them. However, she is still wary if they make sudden movements or make loud noises.
Personally, I am more a cat person than a dog person.13 -
@craigo3154
I have been sending positive thoughts as I noticed you were MIA. Hopefully things balance out for you with the new meds.
Austin is adorable! Pets always bring a sense of joy in to a home. Like you I am more of a cat person, but if I had a big yard I would have a large dog too.8 -
Yes x3. I’m just not going to eat all my calories today and I’m full. I also suspect that the numbers are off on some of the calorie counts on dinner( some foods you just have to estimate since there are so many confirmed entries) and I’m not going to try to get above that’ you will go into starvation mode’ for one day. I hope everyone had a great day and keep up the good work.9

@craigo3154, glad to hear that you are hanging on! I also noticed that you were MIA, so I went looking to make sure you were still logging into MFP. Thankfully you were, and had not completely dropped off the grid!! Like you said, those good habits you have formed keep you from falling too far!! I, too, am a cat person, but I suspect the hard work involved in training that adorable new puppy of yours will pay dividends to your daughter's mental health for years to come.8

I'm still on track for winners circle.
@craigo3154 Obviously I adore all animals but I definitely have a soft spot for working dogs like that. It's awesome that you get to train him and training animals can be so rewarding. I'm busy working with our little seal and it's so much fun watching her learn the new behaviours. The most important thing in animal training is consistency, so make sure that everyone who works with the dog does the same thing for each behaviour you are training, every time they do the behaviour. The more you reinforce the desired result, the quicker they learn. If they get different responses to the behaviour they get confused about what you want from them.
Great day for me swimming with my puppy and getting nose kisses from her. Evening Jiu Jitsu and yoga as usual. Slept in so missed the morning run but I'll get back to that soon. Good food choices although not enough water. I'm normally good, but had an off day. Will do better tomorrow.11 -
@craigo3154 Glad to see you posting again. Austin is a cutie! Sending positive vibes your way.

YES to the triple power
Walking Baby while teaching her her name and to look at me to check in with every new sound or sight. Nice hearing people coo over her. People seem more friendly with a puppy in a sling or maybe it's cabin covid fever and people want to socialize...6 -

@Craigo3154 Good to see you here. Like everyone else, I think Austin is adorable and will be a handsome dog. I used to be a cat person, but after adopting several dogs, I became a dog person, too. Dogs bond so deeply and really give you their hearts. I'm sure he will be a great addition to your family.4

@craigo3154 What a beautiful dog!! Thanks for sharing Austin's photo with us!
It's always great to read your posts because you are very important to me and to we of the UAC!
Your friend, Rick5 -
Arrived home at the farm which is 50 miles west of downtown Chicago. I went straight out to the barn with my border collie, Chica. We visited the horses and then set out to check out the woods. I saw a recently born whitetail deer fawn in the high grass. I called the dog's attention to me and she did not notice the baby deer. Border collies are so focused on their pet human, they will ignore everything else.
It was a 3 yes day.7 -
Three days of no posting and no exercise.
Active recovery? Don't know about that.
I think maybe my joints are recovered up to doing something epic tomorrow.
Spending time with Buddy.
That is always a joyful time.
Wish I could come up with an adequate description of it.7 -

I ate half of an apple fritter at lunchtime that my neighbor brought over, still warm from the donut shop. I should've stopped at 2 bites. I starved myself until dinner- ugh. 1200 cals adds up quickly! Live and learn.
By the way, I have one pass day left, and I don't intend on using it. If I didn't today, I should be fine.7 -
yes x's 3 today....finally - after several days of seeing that scale climb...I saw a drop this morning. Lo and behold...
cleaner eating helps with that. Awakened at 4:20 am by complete power outage...dogs barking, alarms beeping...Alexa confused... thankfully - it came back on...but my dogs thought it was time to get up and play. Nipped that in the bud... ;D
Craigo - I LOVE that you guys have a service dog in training. I have no idea if you are in Melbourne, AUS, or FLA, but as an actual professional pet sitter at this point in my life - here are some diet tips from that adorable pup. http://www.germanshepherdtrainingacademy.com/10-essential-german-shepherd-diet-tips
You may not be in the winner's circle on here - but you, and your entire family, are winners in my book. You are striving for good things in your lives for your daughter and for yourselves. Hats off to you. Best wishes on all of your challenges.4 -
