We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.
This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.
Monday- misterhub (Greg)
Tuesday- whathapnd (Emmie)
Wednesday-MASSRUNNER (Frank)
Thursday- beachwoman2006 (Cindy)
Friday- imastar2 (Derrick)
Today's topic: The Future!! We've been reminiscing lately mostly about WW and other items as well.
So what do you see going forward as far as your vision of your weight control in light of changes that lots of us are still experiencing.

I am a creature of habit and tend to focus only on what I am currently doing. Be that shortsighted or not, it keeps my head from spinning out on the “what if’s”.
That being said, while I know that nothing is permanent and change is ever present, I expect to stay the course. I will keep doing WW, whatever Plan works for me. Given my past history I am very hesitant to quit tracking regardless of the Plan changes. Tracking works for me and is not the annoyance it is for others. I will hopefully continue to check into GoaD and participate socially by this platform.0 -
My focus right now is getting my cholesterol numbers back within normal range by the time my next lab work is done on August 31st. I'm more concerned with that than losing weight right now; but the changes I'm making to lower my cholesterol SHOULD result in weight loss as well -- at least that's the plan. And hope.0

My goals for the future is to get back to where weight-management is basically habit, rather than active-thinking. The hardest thing for me is the dealing with the negative habits that often creep in when I'm not being careful.
As an example, when I started working from home because of COVID, I found it easy to wander through the kitchen during the afternoon and find a little snack. Over time, that became a daily occurrence, and solidified into habit. The same thing happens with me with an evening drink. An occasional glass of wine or bourbon creeps into a nightly event, and again, solidifies into habit.
I know I can break these habits, but that's where the effort come in.
So, I am working to get to the future point of where the bad habits are gone, and I've reestablished "good" habits...or at least habits that are consistent with good health and weight.0 -
I miss my fitness routine, pickle ball and my weekly massage. I don’t see any of that coming back soon. :-(0

Long term to rid myself of the 21.4 pounds I need to re-gain Lifetime.
Short term, stay the course, drop a bit more weeks than gain a little.0 -
I frequently use the past as a roadmap to formulating my plan for the future. There's an old saying /quote "If you don't know where you're going, any road'll take you there" So with that in mind I constantly continue to look at the past records not far back mind you. Sometimes just 1 week but sometimes 30 days then on to 3 months and even a year or more. Usually it's more about the weight and weigh in and keeping track of my progress or lack there of. I do make an effort to see why a short term spike might be caused by something other than food because of health and medications. Started on this back when I started WW over 10 plus years.
So looking to the future I'm really working on 3 things. Tracking, portions, and balance along with nutrition. Just trying to continue1 -
Current goal is to hang in there. I would like to be up to 5 LB lighter but I don't care that much. I do not want to creep up for sure.0

I still have no idea when the fitness center where I used to go nearly every morning for almost 20 years will resume normal operations.
The fitness center at the retirement community reopened last Wednesday. Trying to figure out how to fit in a workout there. I did squeeze in a weight training session late in afternoon last Wednesday.0 -
I need to work on consistency from one day to the next.0
