When your dog tuckers out before you do...

Have any of you used a dog carrier when you wanted to keep walking/running/hiking but your dog was tired? Or a bike trailer? I love my little beagle, and want to be able to take her with me all the time, but she's getting up there in age, and at some point there is a good likelihood I'll be able to go farther than she wants or is able to, and I'm wondering about my options at that point.

I have not but I see many people with some harness in front of them when they are biking with their dogs in them? Or baskets in front of their bikes. The dogs looks pretty darn happy!!!!!1
