The UAC offers the monthly Winner's Circle as an incentive. Nonetheless, the real purpose of the UAC is providing a supportive place to develop healthy habits. Healthy habits take much longer to develop than the 30 day cycle of the MFP Challenges. In a sense, I engage in deceptive advertising on a monthly basis. I try to attract team members to join the UAC by offering a 30 day challenge. See what happens when you invest in the long haul to healthy habits...

" I’ve been in this group since January and haven’t made it to the circle yet but I will one day soon (positivity!). The old me would have gotten to 4 pass days and then just given up. By the end of the month I would have had 15-20 pass days. Now I stay in, keep working at it, and I manage to keep that number under 5 or so. It takes a bit of time for changes in behavior to break old habits and form new habits. I have been yoyo’ing for many years even here on MFP. This is the first time I have felt somewhat in control of my (emotional/stress/bored/don’t care/but it’s in front of me/I’ll have just one...two...okay three...what I ate the whole bag?) consumption of whatever without thinking about it - or worse, actually thinking about it and squashing those thoughts. I’m at 2 pass days. I will probably have a third and maybe a fourth. But I’m more in control and I’m either losing a little each month or maintaining. So I always stay and strengthen the good habits. We can do this!"24 -
@cjane917 You are a Winner!!8

Yes x 3 for me!
This is the first month since February that I have continued to post. I am not where I once was with calorie restrictions but day by day I am getting more in control & closer to where I need to be to attaining my goals. I decided to take the baby steps of posting, logging & adding a little exercise this month & I am giving myself a lot of flexibility..16 -

Exercise Yes
Walked early with my sweetie. He is getting back in the habit again....Yeah
Calories Yes
Tracked Yes
This time back in UAC I decided to allow more calories. I lost 4.5 lbs in the last 2 months. Which isn't a lot but I'm happy with that. My clothers are fitting better and I feel so much better because of the exercise. So much easier to stay on track and so much easier to make my goal which in turn motivatesme to continue.
Nice, thanks for the share Rick.18 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? One hour swim
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes - helped by a stupendously awful work provided dinner this evening (once I would have eaten it anyway but tonight I just thought why eat the calories when it tastes sooooo bad?)
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yup.
I am a serial trier of diets. This time I am doing it a little differently. I am focusing on the healthy activity level, healthy calorie level, healthy sleep. Not weighing in every week. Focussing on how I feel. Interestingly - this is the least hungry I have ever been. I am two months in and feeling very positive that this is a 'for good' change!15 -
@RangerRickL l believe that was actually @readyornot1234 who wrote those inspiring words6

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. I worked out for 1 hour again this morning before work then walked for another hour on my lunch break. The walk was less enjoyable today because of the heat though.

Six and a half hours pushing patients in beds. ✔️
Under calories? ✔️
Log everything? ✔️
Finally made it to urgent care after working 20 minutes over. They x-rayed again to be sure that there is still no fracture. There isn’t. Verdict? Sprained foot. What I was told to do? Put my foot up and ice it between transports and stay off of it altogether when I am not at work.
WHAT? Who says to stay on your feet all day when you have a sprained foot? Then it dawned on me. The docs at the doc-in-the-box my insurance covers are all ER docs at the hospital where I work. I am so beyond angry and seriously would not believe it if it didn’t just happen to me! I am beyond p!$$ed off!
Y’all, I just can’t, anymore.15 -
1) 60 min 🏃♀️
2) ✔
3) Extra: 150 cal ❎ Last meal: 9 pm
5) Sleep: about 6:30-7h
Please dont pull the yellow card for 3). Yes, I kept munching all day and had left the house on a deficit to go for a run. I pressed hard, though, and even had a few cals left after my long run, but then I ate a bit more than what I earned. However, while working late it crossed my mind to go ahead and munch more, since I lost the point anyhow. Yet, I did not 😇 and I think that calls for a pass 🙏.
All in all, I am pretty okay with how this stressfull day went. 🤷♀️14 -

I tried a different method today broke my spin into increments of 10 minutes x 3 and it worked out well I got 6.8 miles in 30 minutes logged and stayed under.
I need to remember to focus on me my health and well being no one else can do it but me will try same approach again tomorrow9 -
Yes x 3 for Wednesday
I'm having better success lately if I prelog my dinner and snacks. Those are more 'vulnerable' areas.
So today I'm on track with calories, have done a dog walk, bootcamp and logged everything. Unless I have a dark chocolate, which I didn't track but allowed plenty of room for if I change my mind.11 -
Yes X 3 today...it was one of those wonderful days when it wasn't even a struggle.8

Ok so this reminded me of when I nag my husband and daughter to pick up after themselves, they always answer “I’m trying” LOL we have very different definitions of “trying”!!
Trying takes effort!
Pass today, last night with my daughter before she goes back to Chicago- she’s been home since April. We went out for ice cream and it put me over on calories.
Lots of exercise though. An hour of sunrise yoga at the park, an hour of strength training with my crew plus a super active day of gardening and farmers market.
I’m not eating back exercise calories so I’ll take the pass.9 -
@RangerRickL wonderful quote from the great MJ
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes, a 40 minute walk after sunset. It was 91 F all day, so I went out at night. I have the week off from my Hell Job, so I'm keeping everything low key -- I need the rest.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes7 -
@juliemouse83 That's bad, really really bad. I'm so sorry. I wish I had some answers, but I don't, just sending my support across the miles. That just plain sucks.

Of course! Just wanted the right person to be credited. I love how you share great thoughts by UAC members-- it really lifts everyone up!
Today was yes x3
Exercise long walk and exercises. Delicious salmon shallot dinner.
When I want to catch up with friends, instead of a zoom video call, I prefer to put in a wireless ear bud and do a neighborhood walk while talking on the phone. A great way to catch up with a friend and also get in my steps!7 -
Exercise: usually horse owners go for a walk while on a horse. Today, I took my horse for a 60 minute walk to introduce him to a new area of the farm. All went well and we both got exercise calories together.
Calories: under my limit
Tracking: good8 -
Today's intro comments very much hit home with me. My bad habits have landed me here on MFP and I am striving to replace my bad habits with good ones that will serve me better as I age. This is more than a weight loss journey for me. I am very glad and thankful that I found this group!
Yes x 3 today. Since I have been struggling a bit with the diet plan for the last few days, I reviewed my diary and realized I have been eating a lot of 'snacky' foods. Today I had 3 solid meals with one snack. It seemed to work a bit better today for warding off those munchie cravings. Happy because I don't know how much will power I will have to fight it off every day! (I gave in 2 days ago.)9
