A bit too formal, but...how are you doing with NSVs?

My NSV is that yesterday, and today, I worked on the farm. Cutting and carrying windblown trees and limbs for hours. I can walk. I can ride a horse. I can even get on a horse from the ground to the saddle (its not pretty, but the horse stands still, so I must not be too bad). I'm healthy and get complimented on my energy.

Not sure if it is a 'non scale victory', but my Mum passed away this morning and I made sure I ate healthy food, and I cared for myself in healthy ways. It has been a tough day, and it is harder because I can't fly home to be with family. But I am OK, and I swam for an hour and it really helped. Night night everyone.26 -
Dear @idmalone, my heartfelt condolences. Please keep posting, even when you cannot stick to the rules and clock up one Pass Day after another. This is an extremely supportive community. People genuinely care about each other. In these difficult times, this is so valuable and important. Looking after yourself is important, I'm sure your Mum would agree!9

If you are finding it hard to think in "non-scale" terms .... skim through the 47 entries here (3 pages) "What did you lose besides weight?" It's great and wonderful for helping see things from a different angle.

two things I will mention are:- lost my taste for cooked-in-oil / melted butter on top pop-corn. Air-popped plain all the way now!
- after i lost a certain amount of weight, I also lost my tendency to snore .... and therefore DH "lost" the tendency to go sleep in the other room ....

I have had a few none scale victories lately but one that I'm most happy and excited about is my endurance when exercising. I've gone from not being able to do a single pushup a couple of months ago to now doing 10+ in one go.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. I worked out for an hour in the morning then went out for what turned out to be a lovely walk for another hour.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

I'm a pear, not an apple, but for the first time, I gained weight in front. It was uncomfortable. It got in the way when I did yoga. It felt like I was wearing a catcher's chest protector. I realized yesterday, that the chest protector is gone. I still have a long way to go, but I feel so much more mobile.
Today, I tried ski-walking. My sister sent me a set of poles as an early birthday present. I was a little klutzy, but I think I'll get the hang of it. So, yes X 3.

Non scale victory day is a favorite! I wore a bikini last week. I felt confident and comfortable. I accept my body how it is- strong with stretch marks.

Logged got it all done my nsv the ability to get the front garden tidy even if I looked like a turtle on its shell trying to get up with crappy knees but I did it and managed to climb the pool ladder10 -

Heavy gardening day today. It is very hot & very sweaty. Food is logged & under calories
I guess my NSV for this month is that my garden is getting in order. I haven’t had a scale victory for a while but I think I am getting closer there.12 -

Pass day #3 for me. NSV: I'm walking so much faster on my hikes. I use to put on an hour of (podcast, sermon, or show) as I walked but lately, I've been doing it in 45 mins and do the extra 15 mins, just b/c it feels good.10 -

NSV was when on vacation last month my aunt said she's never seen me this thin and in shape. She asked how I did it and I said doing short strength workouts five days a week plus tracking my calories daily. Aka it took a lot of work! I told her about the UAC and will probably send her the link for September.
Today yes x3. Two hour walk with my husband this morning, 50 min strength workout, and house cleaning.11 -
Yesx3 day today. Walked outside and took my toddler to play in a new park today. Quality time with my son and a decent workout for me. My Fitbit says 34 active mins.
My NSVs: I now fit into one of my loosest jeans prebaby. So good but a long way to go.
But more importantly spending time outside daily with my son has become a habit for me now...I hope this sticks post lockdown too...9 -

My NSV - Exercising and lifting weights are increasing my stamina and strength.9 -
Today, working in the forest with 2 much younger men, I was able to lift & carry cut wood along with them for 4 hours. I had expected to last 90 minutes. When the work was done, one of them said, "You will sleep well tonight!" I responded, "That's true but the problem will be being able to get up in the morning." Actually, I feel ok. I will be sore, but it was a good day.

My NSV was just having a tough day and not reaching for food for comfort.
