@idmalone : My condolences for your loss Wishing you strength and courage during this time!!
Pass day #3 for me. NSV: I'm walking so much faster on my hikes. I use to put on an hour of (podcast, sermon, or show) as I walked but lately, I've been doing it in 45 mins and do the extra 15 mins, just b/c it feels good.10 -
@idmalone - I am so sorry for your loss.2

NSV was when on vacation last month my aunt said she's never seen me this thin and in shape. She asked how I did it and I said doing short strength workouts five days a week plus tracking my calories daily. Aka it took a lot of work! I told her about the UAC and will probably send her the link for September.
Today yes x3. Two hour walk with my husband this morning, 50 min strength workout, and house cleaning.11 -
Yesx3 day today. Walked outside and took my toddler to play in a new park today. Quality time with my son and a decent workout for me. My Fitbit says 34 active mins.
My NSVs: I now fit into one of my loosest jeans prebaby. So good but a long way to go.
But more importantly spending time outside daily with my son has become a habit for me now...I hope this sticks post lockdown too...9 -
Saturday, 8/15
Tracking: Yes
Calories: under
Exercise: Yes, 2.5 hour walk
Pass days to date - 3
My NSV - Exercising and lifting weights are increasing my stamina and strength.9 -
Today, working in the forest with 2 much younger men, I was able to lift & carry cut wood along with them for 4 hours. I had expected to last 90 minutes. When the work was done, one of them said, "You will sleep well tonight!" I responded, "That's true but the problem will be being able to get up in the morning." Actually, I feel ok. I will be sore, but it was a good day.
Calories; I was under my limit
Tracking: good9 -
So sorry for your loss @Idmakone. Have to say your NSV is MOST impressive! I’d be sticking my face in a carton of ice cream!
My NSV was just having a tough day and not reaching for food for comfort.
Exercise:✅
Tracked calories: ✅
Under calories: ✅8 -
@idmalone - I will be praying for you and your family. I'm so sorry.

yes x's 3 today
NSV...well, my largest workout pants need to go in the trash! ;D They almost fell down today when I was walking two big doggos...no hand free to pull them back up...and no belt loops, lol!
As my walking partner and I were discussing...even for the most positive people...this covidcraptasticness has taken a toll on our mental health. I am NEVER "down"...but felt the blue funk today. It is lifting...and I know it is the commitment to tracking every morsel...and making sure I work out...that has made a huge difference. I am keeping each of you in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

Yes x 3. Active rest day. House cleaning and laundry.
NSV’s to date are that my scrubs are hanging off of me, my favorite bra is too big. I’ve also got more stamina behind the beds, even with a sprained foot. I’m lapping my able bodied counterparts on the regular!
I’ve applied for a desk job on the sixth floor at work, and worry that flying a desk will undo everything I’ve done to date.9 -
@BMcC9 which popcorn do you suggest? I just started thinking about non-oil popcorn and without salt that can still be popped in the microwave.
I have a counter-top appliance type air-popper. If you are going for microwavable - I suggest you search amazon and make a one-time investment (VERY small) in some variant of "microwavable popcorn air popper". There are multiple brands, colors and volumes. Also to be found in Walmart or any other store with a "kitchen countertop appliances" section.
then just put regular run-of-the-mill popcorn kernals in.
If you find air-popped popcorn on the bland side as you make the initial transition, go to the spice aisle of the grocery store for "Molly McButter" (butter flavor sprinkles) or other "popcorn topping spice mix" to your taste.3 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes - more than an hr brisk walking to a book-store and back, plus pacing while making phone calls (more than 10.000 steps total today and only a very small amount on the exergame) PLUS the pilates shoulder and back work.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes - lots of left-over exercise calories
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Another non-scale victory ... kept up the shoulder&back workout for 5 of the last 6 days in a row. Lightly feel that muscles have been used when I finish.
And I invested in a second style of resistance band, plus a book of 4 15-minute all-over Pilates exercise routines.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes, back at work at my Hell Job, counted about a third of my exercise as walking for 3 hours and disinfecting the public areas due to the virus
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
NSV: Mine is simple. I'm no longer able to fool myself and eat whatever I want without being aware of the consequences. It's fine to enjoy food -- with common sense -- but I watch for the "I don't care right now" frame of mind as an excuse to overeat. Whatever I face in life, food or anything else, I do care and want to care. So my NSV is slowly retraining the way I look at my life.12 -
Yes, yes & yes for me today.
NSVs: Well I wrote the following post on July 25 - because the scale hadn't moved that week - since July 19. Well here it is August 15 and I gained back 3 lbs & lost those 3 lbs - but I am still the same weight I was on July 19. I have been thinking all day what I should write for a NSV and really couldn't come up with anything new. But the old news is still pretty good so here it is:
"So I actually lost this pound a week ago - I was this weight on Sunday, the day after my weigh-in which was last Saturday. Therefore I technically haven't lost a pound this week. So I will focus on my Non-Scale Victories this week which are several: 1) Deltoid & Biceps brachii are visibly becoming more defined 2) Lower abdomen is visibly smaller 3) my sister was walking behind me and commented that my waist has slimmed 4) my back has lost more fat & is more toned compared to the pic from 12 days ago 5) I'm wearing a blouse today that is shorter at the front and a month ago was not very flattering (the smaller lower abdomen is making the difference) 6) appears I have no underarm/bra bulge anymore and 7) all of my pool exercises are too easy for me now whereas when I first started they tuckered me out considerably (time to figure out new ways to add more resistance). I need to state these NSV's and reread them when I am discouraged by the scale moving slowly or not at all."10 -
Yes - 239 calories remaining
Yes - 15.46 miles
Yes.
I got in more of a walk then I planned today due to a mama and baby moose being in the trail on my way back. I had to back track then take the road home adding a couple extra miles. It’s a really nice day so I guess it’s not that bad.10 -
NSV - I haven’t lost weight but I feel I have gained muscle☺️8
