We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.
This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.
Monday - 88olds (George)
Tuesday - whathapnd (Emmie)

Friday - imastar2 (Derrick)
Today’s Topic: Grocery Shopping
What does your grocery shopping looking like? Well planned out or off-the-cuff? One store? Multiple stores? Once a week? Monthly? Daily? How does your grocery shopping affect your eating and lifestyle? Or, is it the other way around - does your eating and lifestyle affect your grocery shopping?

List is always planned but if I see a good deal I will grab it.
Usually 2 stores during senior hours. 2nd store has fresher veggies.
Usually grocery once but sometimes twice weekly.
My PLANNING affects both my eating and lifestyle.

Our main shopping is once a week, at one store, with our Excel shopping list. Also sometimes, a treat (think Tiny Potatoes) , or something we forgot to put on the list.
Also check the ads for out two other stores in the area, and PLAN those trips, if needed) also.
Perhaps a quick salad stuff pickup midweek.
Our weight loss plan definitely affects out shopping.
WE usually buy extra of meats and frozen foods when they're on sale. Decent sized freezer.

Generally once a week. DW commented one dat that without seating put to do it, almost all of our shopping is now on the outside aisles. We sure wouldn’t be eating so much fresh fruit and veggies if they weren’t so easily available.
One thing I’ve noticed is that since we’ve moved to the FL mainland from Key West I’m back into blueberries big time. As well as Publix in KW does with the produce, blueberries did not like the last leg of that trip.0 -
I buy groceries, to some degree, weekly. Sometimes, I can go longer. This has been especially true since quarantine because I have Ben cooking a LOT at home and not buying takeout. Being cognizant of my nutrition does influence my grocery buying, and it helps even more because I actually have been planning my food prep.0
