Today’s Topic: Yo Yo weight loss.

The Yo Yo weight loss is very frustrating. Not on a daily basis that's expected but over a given period of weeks and months. We sometimes lose the same 10 lbs over and over.
What are your thoughts or remedy to fixing your yo yo weight loss over periods of time.

Up and down up and down. I've experienced yo yo weight loss more than I care to mention. It's really not a big deal unless you give in and stay down for extended lengths of time then thats when the problem begins.

Pretty much the best way to prevent this in my situation is to do my best to stay positive and stick with my program. I guess as long as you can continue to move the needle downward over a consistent period of time your doing good.

I have Yo Yoed so many times I cannot not count them! 1st time was about 6 months after joining WW at about 230 lbs which was 20 - 30 below where I started that lasted for a few years, then at about 220 again for a few years, then at 210 then back to 220 etc. Currently at about 200 - 210 Keep losing & then finding the same 10 lbs! No answers just continued paying attention to what I eat and do and my overall health

I have done this all my life! My solution "this time" is to take a broad and sustainable approach.

I made of check list that covered:
Spiritual: a.m. quiet time, p.m. gratitude
Activity: 3x/week of arm & core, hourly moving
Diet: commit to w/in WW pts, limit diet soda, eat in 8ish hr window

This is all very doable, and I've slowly increased activity so still doable.

10 weeks on this program and I'm losing. I think one other component is I am not allowing a 'cheat day' or any bingeing. I'm finding it easier to stay on track w/o the huge, sometimes unattainable, struggle to get back on track, easier to resist the first bite then stop eating. And another component is a daily checklist. I love a list!

Last time a real big yoyo was just 6 years ago. Got down, officially, to 233.8 in May of 2014. Yesterday was 239.8, and May 2017 was 249.2. Of course there are many ups and downs since then. I just seem to get the effits, then stay on or about plan, before getting ON plan.
Like @linmueller , I know the final must be sustainable.

Well 3 years ago, I was where I am now. Got on the exercise bandwagon and I lost 30 pounds... felt great. Got a new job and over the course of a year, gained the weight and then a little more back. Then repeated. Now I am back to 170 with a goal of 40 gone - permanently this time.
