Today's Topic: Mid week correction(s)?

Does anyone make mid-week corrections with their menu food selections?, portion control, points or calorie reduction or increases?

Or do you wait till after official WI day and decide.

Bonus question?
Anyone planning any special trips when the pandemic eases up?

I frequently make changes during the week one reason is I'm a daily weigher even though I know there are many many variables to daily weight. As a long timer or old timer to this lifestyle I can tell how my week is going. I don't ways wait till after Friday WI to make adjustments because by then new week is already underway. Plus changing up the menu is a good thing in my case.

We often hear the term to your body and I'm a big believer proponent of this statement.

We're hopefully planning a trip over to see family in Jacksonville FL after the middle of this month. Except that my Cardiologist called me in yesterday didn't like how my afib was going and so now I'm scheduled for a cardioversion on next Thursday 9/10. 🙏☹. I've had 2 of these in the past.

Honestly, I make course corrections daily. I try to assess where I am at each day and adapt based on that. But, I work to stay within the framework of the plan I have set up for the week.

Trip: I am planning a trip at the end of this month back to my home in Oregon. I am self-isolating as much as possible in the weeks up to the trip. I will self-isolate for 14 days upon my return to my work area. Luckily, I am able to work from home.

When in WW losing mode WI day was Sunday. On Thursday I used to peek at the scale. Here’s was the deal though- no emotional involvement in the outcome. It wasn’t official. It was specifically to allow an opportunity for a course correction. Helped me a number of times.

Trip? You bet. Pre Covid I wanted to go to New Orleans. But not sure any cities are going to be on my short list.

But there’s definitely going to be a car trip. S FL to Chicago (suburbs) to see DD. Maybe a side trip to MO for fishing. Likely Bloominton MN to visit friends. Washington DC (suburbs) to visit DS. Likely stop along the way in western MD to find some long lost relatives. I’m figuring about 6 weeks total.

Does anyone make mid-week corrections with their menu food selections?, portion control, points or calorie reduction or increases? Nope! I'm OP and within DPs. I've been consistent for 11 weeks, and despite a snag of 17 days w/o progress, the weight has been dropping off at an unusually quick pace since, more then making up for it. I am staying the course!

The only change I make is to get on top of meal prep if I haven't been, so I have healthy, satisfying choices easily available.

    Bonus question?
Anyone planning any special trips when the pandemic eases up? Yup! Going to a condo in Virginia at the end of the month. Will do a lot of our own cooking and spend days wandering the parks and beach. If anyone has any specific suggestions, I'd welcome them! We'll be based in Williamsburg.

Since my weigh-in is Friday, I splurge Friday - Sunday, and ratchet it back for Monday - Thursday. More or less works. ;)

No changes or course correction for me as I rarely leave the travel lane.

Some will remember that a couple of weekends ago was such a time I jettisoned the Plan for an extravagant treat for two days. My weight reflected it.
So...what was my course correction? Absolutely nothing other than to go back to my normal diet and tracking. The additional weight in total is nearly off two weeks later.
But let’s say for the sake of argument that it still isn’t gone by official WI on Monday. Will there be additional course corrections? Nope.

    Long. Range. View.

When I'm diligently tracking, I'm aware that I make corrections throughout the week. If my goal is a 500 deficit per day, and I've gone over my daily goal, I may try to make those up later in the week. If the number is too large to comfortably make up, I just try to move on or decide it's okay to eat at maintenance for the week. Robbing from Peter to pay Paul is not a good long-term dieting tactic. Allowing flexibility for a little over/under on daily calories is fine.

Well I do ease off a bit more when I have a special meal or treat but otherwise I like to see a trend of a week or more.
