OCTOBER Monthly Challenge

What is happening to time........
I've been saying that I guess weight doesn't exactly matter at this time but staying as healthy as you can does, it seems however that increasingly it's being found that being not too heavy improves risk against many diseases including this virus so maybe it continues to be important. Additionally, for many of us, Keto helps us feel good and that can't be a disadvantage at any time.
Feel very welcome to join, we usually post our weigh Sundays and use the 'Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet' also in 'Announcements' to track weight.
You can post your weight here and also in the Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet which Stormy updates. If you want to post comments etc please use this thread rather than the Spreadsheet.
We use this thread to encourage each other and to add our weight as well.

Good luck and stay safe everyone

September was not so good for me as I gained 8.2 pounds over the month. I keep using things that are beyond my control as excuses to stray from my keto routine. Now, with only three months left in 2020. I’m dangerously close ending an entire year in the gained weight column. I keep making bold statements and predictions that I fall short of. So, no wild talk for October. Talk is cheap, results are what count. September is in my rearview mirror and I can see October in front of me. Now I need to quit saying what I’ll do and just do it instead. Welcome October!3

welcome to October everyone. It's been an up and down September for quite a lot of us including old diehards like Stormy, Valley and me so lets try to have a better October!
However the important thing is to not give up, keep posting even if you can't face your weight.
Personally I know I have to keep weighing and posting or what happens is I go really off the wagon I've done it before in the recent past. In fact last September I went off the tracks good style and came back in January 20 pounds heavier.
I'm really trying not to do that again but if I have a few weeks bouncing about with gains and small losses (the gains are always bigger and quicker than the losses, why is that!) I'm trying to stick with it and not hide my head in the sand, where there are no scales, but still weigh myself and face the horrid truth!
My clothes do lie by the way and I can get myself into jeans and think that's fine ignoring that there is more of me squeezed into them! For me it's the scales that help but only when I get on them! I also keep a chart which I update daily recording if I've gone up, lost or had a 'real loss'. It may seem overkill but it helps me.
Good luck this month everyone.

@PrincesseAly23 welcome back!1

I will join! However, I will not disclose my current weight. I will mention the weight loss though. I hope this is okay?2

@MIssnewme9211 Welcome and don't worry, post your losses but also no one here has any judgement about what anyone weighs. It's an individual thing and we all have enough judgement to face about all sorts of things to want to do that to each other here. So; should you feel able to, go ahead and post your weight as well.1

A small step in the right direction this morning. Lost 1.4 pounds this first week of October. This is a difficult time of the year for me to lose weight. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas holidays and a switch from outdoor to indoor activity are all obstacles in my weight loss quest. Not complaining or making excuses, these are good problems to have. Just saying I need extra vigilance these last few months of the year.

*Goals for this month: Tighten the reigns on what I’m eating when not fasting. I stick to keto foods always, but have occasionally been going over the amount of calories that I should or need. Also would like to try a back to back 72 hr extended fast (72 EF, eat OMAD, 72 EF). And last but not least, would like to end the month in the 80’s.
Good luck to all with your October goals! We got this!!2 -

@MIssnewme9211 hiya! Welcome! Let us know how we can support and motivate you! I think I started in this group as the heaviest member. I think I was around 260-265, I never once felt judged. Everyone in here has been so supportive and encouraging. Not trying to talk you into anything, just letting you know none of us will do anything but root for you!!1

Ready to jump back onto Keto. I did well on it a few years back but have gained back all the weight lost and about 20 pounds more. I am now in a position where I have to lose weight in order to get a medical procedure that is desperately needed. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Up and down like a yoyo and haven't had what I call a 'real loss',where I'm a weight I haven't been before, in weeks but still hanging on in there! Truthfully I don't want to loose much more but I certainly don't want to gain what I've lost. Been there, bought the tee-shirt sooooo many times......... Have a good week everyone0 -
Hello from Glasgow. Not posted for a while - September was busy with school/work routine starting back up. Autumn is my favourite time of year with the wonderful colours nature brings.
Had good and less good weeks but have managed to stay the same weight for 2 months so taking that small mercy.
This year I'm going to make big batches of keto-friendly soups instead of my beloved lentil based types - do you have any favourites?

Back in the saddle again here on week three of October. My on again, off again trends have been bad this year. I've used a ton of excuses this year to explain my up and down trends. I’d like to say, “No more excuses”, but my results kind of prove the facts have made me eat my words over and over this year. Evidently my words are non-keto and high calorie. Ha
As the end of the year approaches fast, I can’t afford to keep eating my own words. I will just let results do my speaking. See you all next Sunday and I’ll let my weight change do my talking for me.

I'm embarrassed by the numbers here. My lowest weight pre-covid was 193. My highest Covid weight was 219.4. I gained 26.4 lbs this year and I'm having a hell of a time getting it back off. Each week is a yo-yo. I'm good Monday to Wednesday and the fall off of the wagon Thursday - Sunday. The worst part is - for the first time in my life - I'm apathetic about it. I just can't seem to find my motivation to care. I'm hoping posting here will give me some spark of motivation so that I can get back on track.2 -

I am so frustrated. I have no idea what is going on this month. Just yo-yoing all over the place, and I have no real justifications for it. This month I am going to get back to weighing and measuring portions, just to see if I have gotten a little off with eyeballing. That's all I can think of.0 -
