Getting through a funk...
"Feelings are like waves, they ebb and flow just like the waves in the ocean. When we fight a wave, it will often knock or pull us down, but if we go with it and accept it, it will move us some, but then deposit us back or close to where we began – none the worse for wear."
A good article from Cleveland Clinic

That all that any of us can do, but it's a start.

excellent referenced article @RangerRickL
I am exploring this and other resources , including the concept of dealing with "situational depression" as one possible variant of my current "funk" (as opposed to either seasonal affect disorder or clinical depression - all are equally real and valid, but have different roots and need to be addressed in different ways)
I also spotted a title on my bookshelf that I still have yet to "give myself permission to actually read cover to cover" ....
"Permission To Succeed" by Noah St. John. ( c 1999)
I picked it up when the printed resources in the Learning Centre at work were being sold off some years ago and they started doing less in-house "personal development type course offerings".

Favorite summer activity is likely why I am here - probably "eating". I am not a summer person. Fall is my favorite. I am not a bright sun, heat, humidity, or water person. So of course it made a lot of sense that hubby and I bought a place in the Florida Keys last year. I think I'm going to need to find a better favorite summer "activity". :P

This is crazy, but I did it! I evened out the calories by doing a tabata after already doing a HIIT with kids (they seem unstoppable, which is great, given the lockdown and the fact that all their sports are banned).
100 cals left, two workouts and some cleaning, busy day at work and... no yellow card! (I already used 2 pases) 💪7 -
All three done good day7

Yes, yes, and yes, a good day.
Thanks for the Arthur Ashe quote Rick, I like it. And it is certainly something I need to do. I have been feeling sorry for myself a bit lately, a health set back and now rotator cuff problems, amongst of other things. I need to remember Ashe's words, and measured by what I have and where I am I think I am doing alright. Not always easy to accept, I'd be happier with perfection, LOL!7 -

I saw this here before, in another form. Why does this call for a pass day, you were just sensible! Why do days like this (sickness, being away and not able to log) have to be penalized?
@RangerRickL , how do you see this?

@MadisonMolly Your pictures are so beautiful. It makes me want to be there too. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, yes, and yes
I had oral surgery today. I managed a short walk before heading to the doctor's office for which I was glad. It was easy to stay within calories as I am now on a liquid and soft diet for some time to come. I am also on restricted exercise for about a week but can still manage slow meandering walks with my dog so that will be good. Glass half full is that I will not be walking away from Thanksgiving with my normal weight gain. lol6 -

Since I blew it for Nov, thinking I need to re-work my daily calorie strategy. Seems that the "day after" I exercise a lot (like over 1.5-2 hrs), my body is tracking this internally and wants to overconsume to make up for the calorie deficit. It's pretty smart.4 -

I took an active rest day. Then we got takeout and I tried to track but no idea. So even though probably within the margins, definitely a pass day. The take out was a last minute thing so I didn’t make a conscious decision about what to eat. It really wasn’t even a consideration. I will work on being more aware.

@znaoiec Sorry to hear of oral surgery but proud of your cup half-full attitude! I hope you are out of pain ASAP!! 💞💞
