Since I try to read everyone's posts, I also see how many of us continue to post. Even in normal times, November and December of each year, many of those who started have left the room.

I am impressed by everyone who may not have met the 3 passes but continues to participate. For me when I am struggling I have 2 big goblets which I use to help me for several years. One is filled with marbles for all the "good" days and the other has just 2 marbles in it from the 'bad" days. It helps to put things in perspective and remind us that a bad day or three or 4 does NOT undo all the good days. What's important is the marathon and not the sprint.14

Last night was the first time I ever baked a pie (EX Hubby bought two pie shells, so I made two pies) One Pecan the other my favorite Blueberry and I did NOT take one taste, not one bite. YEP! I was very proud of myself. I begged him to take it with him when he left, But No luck. It's in our spare refrigerator. I pray if I get tempted I'll just throw it in the trash instead. LOL9 -

Yes to all 3 today. Part of why I love this challenge and keep coming back is for the 20 min daily exercise. I am trying to make this a lifetime goal going forward. I have challenges at the moment as I am still trying to get my plantar fasciitis to settle down. But I have been in treatment for it again this fall and I am trying to come up with some activity that I enjoy and won't be too hard on my feet.8

I walked on the treadmill today as it rained most of the day. My normal pace is about 3.0 mph, but I'm trying to up my pace a little bit so I tried 15 mins at 3.5 and then later in the day did 10 mins at 3.6. Other than that, I got my normal "steps" around the house. For this Thanksgiving week, I'm upping my step goal to 14k per day - aiming for 100k for the week.
@TeresaSavage I'm PROUD of you for baking and NOT eating or nibbling! You GO girl! That's awesome!
@Jana_2020 I've had plantar fasciitis in both feet (not at the same time), so I know how debilitating that can be. I froze water in a 16oz plastic water bottle and rolled it along the arch of my foot as I sat in the evenings and watched tv. It did help me.... it just takes time. I hope you get to feeling better SOON!!7 -
Month #2 in the UAC group. Happy with how October went. Did well in the challenge and also took off 5 lbs along the way.
I am expecting November to be a challenging month. I would like to make the winner’s circle again, but at worst, I will accumulate the least number of passes I can. With all that will come at the end of the month (Nov 26 – 29), I need to really stay focused every day leading up to those dates.
For this round, I’m going to start logging my net calories since I think I should be looking into what portion of exercise calories I should be adding in. I have been getting some thoughtful input on this. There is likely going to be some evolution over the month, but I know there is a delicate and individual balance regarding total calories, I will update as I define. I don't normally do this amount of exercise or burn this amount of calories. Today is my 52nd birthday. I wanted to have some take out food today and gluten free cupcakes. I still wanted to have an extra 400 calories left over from exercise. It wasn't hard to do it today either. My husband thought I was never gonna come up from the basement! Its where my treadmill is. I enjoyed my day so much today and I never left the house! I walked and listened to two great podcasts and those were almost 2 hours long each so it wasnt hard to keep going.7 -

Exercise: YES. An 8.5 mile trail run plus half mile walk up hill post run. No broken bones! Training for a Half-Ultra like I mean it....
Calories: YES. I got this figured out. For long weekend runs where my calorie burn is excessive, I am allowing myself half of calories burned as per my Garmin back into my daily calorie allowance. I figured out I was under-eating those days, resulting in a binge the following day to compensate.
