Due to Covid stress and lack of opportunities to exercise my weight is going back up and I have been eating terrible. Any advice on how I can do small steps to change my diet? I am a huge fan of sugar and unhealthy snacks. So far I am working on drinking more water.

    Hmmm. Some quick thoughts...

    1) I do not bring foods in the house that I can’t control. This mean sometimes staring at them in the supermarket longingly - then walking away 😂. For me, that’s honey roasted cashews, bbq chips, peanut butter cookies.

    2) can you eat more healthy snacks - fruit, veggies with hummus, etc?

    3) water is great.

    4) can you increase your NEAT?

    5) can you control your portion sizes of your less healthy snacks if you find it hard to ban them completely?

    6) is this specific covid related stress? How do you handle your other stressors?

I don't have any suggestions better than those already provided by CeeBeeSlim. But here's a funny quote I came across recently. "Now that I've been through an actual plague, I finally understand why Renaissance paintings always seem to be of fat people lying on couches."

I haven’t been very active since I started working from home. But I’ve been losing weight (down 13lbs) with my diet.

My weight loss stalls if I eat too much protein. I reduced my protein per meal by an oz each week until I found an amount where I would loose weight. And I increased my carbs gradually to an amount where I was still losing weight.

I love cakes, desserts and potato chips. I don’t keep it in the house but when I want it, I’ll buy mini cakes and pastries from the bakery or a small bag of chips or chocolate bars. And I make sure it's within my daily calorie allowance.
