Start weight, January 1, 2021: 132.0December 1, 2020 – 135.6
November 6, 2020 – 140.8
October 2, 2020 – 147.8
September, 14, 2020 – 153.0
My calorie rule for January UACDefining, for myself more than anything, what is the definition of my daily calorie goal. For Oct and Nov, I used 1430 and not eating back exercise. December, I raised that to 1480 with no additional calories for exercise. For January, I am going to try a blended rule; either Food calories under 1480, or Net calories (ie Food minus exercise) under 1200. So, if my exercise burns less than 280 on a given day, there is no added calories. BUT, if I exercise more, I have the option additional food OR if I overeat, I have the option of exercising more to not use a pass day. This flexibility was not something I allowed in my previous rounds. Once I exceeded my goal calories, regardless of my exercise burn. Also, I am defining that I am using the MFP estimate for the caloric burn from exercise. I know I could get different numbers elsewhere, but I am going to use only the one source – good or bad.Date: 1/1

Sorry I am only posting today and not reading any posts! I am beyond upset! My day was awesome all day. I started early running errands, my healthy snacks, and water in tow! I made it a point to be nice to everyone, made 5 workers at the stores' smile and laugh! I got home in plenty of time to take the dog on a 40 min walk outside! He has been waiting to go for days! I also wanted to be done with EVERYTHING by the time hubby got home! He has been agitated with me lately, says I have NO TIME for him, and all I care about is making others happy, working out, and logging my food! I stay up all night and don't sleep next to him in bed, etc. Today I was on track to have it all done and sit and watch a movie with him before falling asleep. He gets up very early at 4 am; by 9 pm, he is done and passed out! Nope, it wasn't going to happen yet again! I spent 3 hours trying to add new food items that I had purchased at Trader Joe's! The database sucks! I can not believe that so many people do NOT know how to read an ingredient list and log it properly! I had to re-do every item that I entered today! They were ALL items from Trader Joe's, so Once I fill in all the correct information, I have to go back and search the food item in the database AGAIN, and then the item that I JUST fixed is NOT there! I tried each item repeatedly and finally ended up giving up when my husband came up to bed from falling asleep on the couch waiting for me! So he is frustrated with me again! I am AGITATED! Going on the treadmill now, even though exercise is done for today! It is better than punching the wall! My good mood was nice while it lasted. Happy I made 5 people at the store happy today! I also sent out 60 POSITIVE quotes to my family, friends, and clients this morning at 6:30 am to start their day on a POSITIVE note! I try every day, and yet I seem to fail constantly! I will now eat the dinner I was waiting to eat after logging in my food, go exercise because I am so upset, and bed yet again will be tomorrow! First, I must add all my posts for the last 3 days now because I was too busy to get on here the last 2 days! I will read ALL your posts for the last 3 days in the morning! Who knows, I might still even be awake at 6:30 am on Thursday!

Thanks to everyone who posted the beautiful photos from the areas where you live. Thanks also to @MadisonMolly2017 for her thoughtful post and to other people for their replies. I lost 34 pounds a year ago and had a similar experience when I connected with a positive, meaningful side of myself. One long term issue for me is to strengthen that connection.3 -
@ginadomaszewicz I've written you a private message.
@Hollis100 I was thinking of you every time that man with the scarf came on during the inauguration to disinfect the lectern! Lol! I am sure your duties are quite different!2 -

@Chinkiri I think my "disinfecting" is meaningless -- maybe to please the public, maybe because something is better than nothing, I don't know. The state requires it. However, I read the back of the bottle and went to the manufacturer's website to read more. The spray has to stay wet on a surface for ten minutes in order to disinfect. We wipe it off immediately. I feel like I'm in a Kafka novel ... hopefully, the vaccines will get underway and turn the tide.

@pamjsa Sending you belated happy birthday wishes!🎂
@ginadomaszewicz Sorry that your day got derailed. I feel you on the database. Sometimes I am amazed by the number of different calories for the exact same item. I don't tract my macros that closely, so sometimes I'll just click quick add the extra calories to make up the difference. I only enter in the database if I know it is something I will eat often. I hope the new day brings you the positivity you desire and some well deserved chill time!

@RangerRickL OMG, so funny! Sorry yours will be delayed. I started it last night, which is a big deal for me. Reading means that I cannot multi-task, and my eyes have always fought reading. Was born with lazy eye that was surgically corrected in 1965, but reading can be strain on that eye and it "turns of". Reading just tends to be less appealing to my though I love information. Hope you copy arrives quickly. So far I see the potential in what I am reading, but I am curious about what teachings will come and will it be clear to me on how to apply the skills to myself and my habits.

Yes, yes, but no exercise, still not feeling 100% so exercise is losing out.
I am still eating fine and logging when the app cooperates so I think I will be ok, just no WC this month.
I have given thought to the quote below, but do not think I will ever by that person, I really envy people who can be. I don't think I will ever be able to just eat when hungry, not without a struggle. I suspect I will always either have to closely track calories or get fat again.
Overeating is too much a part of my nature. Oh well, all I can do is keep trying.RangerRickL wrote: »So I think I’d the Identity of someone who maintains effortlessly...
I think of friends I know who are normal weight, active, make healthy food choices...and food is not a “pull” on them.
So, I was walking down the sidewalk to do a Starbucks pick up, and Really took a look in the store windows as I did so (usually haven’t in my life)
And the Identity comment popped into my head.
“I am a person who: stands tall & lean with a long confident stride.” And then a feeling came over me -and these friends- and I began to image what they would be doing/saying to themselves. Inhabiting or trying on their identity. They would have ordered differently- less sweet, smaller sizes.
So I then adopted that
“I am a person who orders small sizes & chooses the healthiest option, but prefers to eat at home with her own delicious meals”
That instead of:
I can’t eat out
Ok you can have a “treat” once a day
Oh well at least it was a grande not a venti
No bargaining
No fighting my old habits & family of origins modeled eating..
A NEW identity -
eats when hungry, wouldn’t think if it otherwise
Would never overeat, feels awful
Looks in store windows at svelte self- happy confident
Uses her energy to pursue interests & help others - not fill time eating out
Handles emotions is ways that work - wouldn’t think of eating to squelch them
Etc.

Thanks for the post from Maddie. It was very helpful. Today I had difficulty tracking and went over my calories. My first goal has been to track my food every day. If I don't, I will eat too many calories. I did get my 30 minute walk in. I have to keep trying. I am 72 so I've been doing this my entire life.4
