Welcome to all the newbies! My biggest advice is: don’t give up. If by April 3 you’ve already taken 3 passes, so what. Keep trying, keep working on it, don’t quit. We don’t judge, we don’t roll our eyes at you, we’ve all been there and we truly understand. I’ve been here since January - I had 8 passes and in February took 6. In March I was focused and determined, the stars aligned and I made it to the winners circle with 3 passes. Never ever in my life have I gone an entire month without several binge days, even in my skinny 20’s. I have received life-changing advice and encouragement. Honestly. It took awhile to get my mojo, and i know there will be setbacks ahead, but I also know this group is legit. My second biggest advice: don’t expect too much too fast. Take it slow and make realistic goals. Enough for now - looking forward to meeting you all.20

@biketheworld You are SO RIGHT! I had a brutal February. It was a rough month all around and it was so bitter COLD that I couldn't do any outside exercise. I also had some personal issues and at the end of the month I had actually GAINED a pound and only lost 1/2 inch off my waist. BUT I DIDN'T QUIT. I was frustrated, yes, but I didn't quit coming back and logging every.single.day.
I'm happy to report that in March I lost a total of 6.4 lbs and 4.5 inches! In April I have new challenges (including my knee issues), but am looking forward to finding other ways to exercise as well as fine-tuning my eating habits.
I just finished a book called "THE OBESITY CODE: Unlocking The Secrets of Weight Loss" by Dr. Jason Fung MD and it's been a real eye opener. I got it from my library and highly recommend it!CONGRATS to all the WINNERS and CHAMPIONS! 🎯 💪❤️ 👊 🎯 💪7 -
Good morning, April 1st!
What a nice surprise to wake up and see I was allowed to be included in the UAC Champions. @RangerRickL After how my March went, could this be an April Fools joke? :P
Congrats to all our winners circle members and congrats to fellow champions!
@Biketheworld "If by april 3 you've already taken 3 passes, so what". I think you described my March. After 5 strong months, March went sideways with 18 (yes, 18) passes. I am still here. Your advice is great and I hope members take it to heart.
My reflections on March and thoughts for April.Putting them in writing helps me with my focus: April has arrived and I am sitting here reflecting back on this month. It is the first month since September that I have closed the month with an “up”. That said, an up had to come at some point since at some point one is no longer trying/needing to lose weight, and I had passed my original goal mid-January. The up on its own would be fine, but the habits, or lack thereof, that crept into my March are the greater concern as I know where they can lead over time. So, for the month of April, I will be focusing on returning to preplanning/pre-tracking as much as is possible and to not just thrown in the towel if a day it does not go as planned. I know that I know how to plan and I know how to re-group when necessary. I need to make sure I find the time to maintain those healthy habits. Additionally, I want to up my cardio. Yes, I am “group walking” every day which burns calories, but honestly, I could walk at that pace for hours and hours without effort. I need to push myself, here and there, again. I will also be trying to maintain the social aspect of the group walks as well, so juggling all those time commitments will take a little focus. Lastly, I need to return to adding back exercises. I have not planked in a month, and rarely done exercises other than walking, running, or biking. So I need to figure out how to include bodyweight or dumbbell workouts. Here’s to April.
Welcome to all our new members, and glad to seeing all those returning. Wishing everyone a great month!8 -

Hey, I feel like this was targeted to me, ha ha. Just kidding. I have been struggling since around Thanksgiving to get back on track, but I am going to try really hard to last past April 3rd11 -
Congratulations to all who are still here!!
Consistency is key!
50/87 “completers” in March 57.4% might actually been the highest I’ve seen in over 3 years!!!! Wow!
Great advice above!
For those who hang in here, great achievements are possible!
Warmly,

Thanks to the UAC, I have returned to my pre-pandemic weight range of 55-56 kg (121.2-123.4 lbs) within three months. Since I have never had to lose as much weight before, I had expected to need at least half a year. For the moment, I am aiming to maintain my weight.
Good luck to everyone!8 -
Good day, just crazy busy at work. I did eat an entire Lindt bunny this evening but my calories actually had space for it. I’m really struggling with energy levels at the moment but I’m in a 7 day work week with no backup after a camping weekend so that’s not surprising. I do need to get better on my nutrition and exercise but that is next week’s focus. This weekend I just need to log my food and stay within budget. As long as my Apple Watch thinks I did over 30 minutes of activity, I’m counting it for my busy work weekend.9

Hi! Also restarting due to injury! It's quite demotivating but happy to be amongst like-minded people again!
Well done 'BikeTheWorld', it's great to hear that all your effort is paying off😁 great work, keep it up!5 -
April 1 2020 here we go. I was cruising facebook and the weatherman mentioned we might get sleet and snow on Sunday... hahahaha... It only took me a minute of OHMYGAWD before I realized... good one weatherman. not. Still traumatized from Feb thankyouverymush
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes Apple watch is pushing me to get 170 minutes per day this month. Not impossible but I hate when the tech gets so pushy.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes and after monitoring my TDEE on watch for a few months I am pushing my cals up by 50. This should help with my goals of miles and speed in my running.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes prelogged around lunchtime so I can figure out how many snacks I get.And of course to start one of my favorite months off I need to adorn the page with a photo of my favorite man.7 -
Exercise? Yes.
Tracking? Yes.
Calories? Yes.

Another month, another set of pending victories for us all!
I'm starting April with a 3-month program that is interestingly similar to Bret Contreras' Strong Curves. I refuse to state its embarrassing commercial/branded name and will instead just call it Theresa Depasquale's 90-Day Workout Program.
But you won't see it mentioned below today. I've taken a total pass day where the only thing moving is my mouth 🤷🏾♀️
---|---|---|---
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? NO |
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? NO |
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES
---|---|---|---
Personal Bonus: Did I meet my protein macro for the day (40%)? NO | 21%
Pass Days Used: (APR01)
Finally, as I've done on the first of every month thus far, I'll list my accomplishments. With the help of UAC participation over the past month, I've been able to:
* Lose 0.9 % body fat (almost 2x than the month before...yay for kettlebells!)
* Trend comfortably under 23% body fat percentage
* Increasing the number of days reaching at least 35% protein (11 days in FEB to 19 days in MAR)
And, since joining UAC in October 2020, I've lost a total of 4.6% body fat and gained 1.9% in lean body mass. I'm trying to figure out how to improve this ratio so as to pack on more lean muscle faster (errm, please be kind to me and my tummy by not pointing out that fewer pass days would likely help)
Other goals for April...
* perfect my boat pose
* resume Gyrotronic sessions with my instructor
* resume my splits training/stretching program (by Leap Fitness Group)
* eat more watermelon, berries, and fruit

April (1)
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 17 min stairs climbing up and down + 20min of walking.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, 1,356/1,400
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, 2,180 ml of fluid.
Pass days: 0 /3
burned calories: 837 /33,000
Wall pushups done: 20 /3,000
April's goal:
- at the end of April will finish 3,000 wall pushups.
- burn 33,000 calories.
- manage stairs climbing for 25 minutes
My insights:
I decided to make my budget 1,400 instead of 1,500. I want to increase it 100 a month. So, I will be 1700 by July, which is my maintenance calories. Whatever weight I'll be at in July, I'll do maintenance for two months as a recovery and a short break. Then set a new weight target and start the race again! My current weight is 80.2/176.8, I have lost in March 3.9 kilos/ 8.6 lb, not my highest loss but a great one for sure, with all the passes. My minimum goal is to reach 75 kilos/165.3 and my maximum 68 kilos / 149.9 by July. I'm really close to my first target, that's why I decided to have a break on July.
*I had a family gathering today, so not much exercise.
To all new members, welcome 🤗 this is my third month and I'm really glad I ran into a post of UAC by chance. To be honest, I always stop dieting after 3 or 4 months. When I joined the group, I was already at my fourth month of dieting, and here I'm with a new record of keeping up with healthy lifestyle.
Good luck to you all and let may April be a perfect month to all of us 💜💛

Well, I'm starting off with a pass day. Had a feeling this might happen as it was my mum's 70th and we had a virtual birthday party with lots of prosecco and not the healthiest food. I did track everything though and didn't end up too badly over goal, so it's all good. 😊8
