Ladies!
Spring is coming; whether you know it because the snows are melting, because the parks are crowded, because the first BBQ's are fired up or just because you feel it in your bones!
A not so obvious title to encourage everyone to take it slow and steady, and focus on the average weight loss, instead of swings (totally guilty of that myself!).
Let's do it!

I started tracking my food on 3/10, and for 2.5 weeks (3/10-3/28) my weight wasn't changing. I went back to my goals and changed my activity level to the lowest one (since I realize I am at a desk job) my calories dropped by 300.
For 4 days I've been following the new calories, and BAM my weight loss finally started as of this morning!
My goal this month:
1. Continuing working out 5-6 times a week
2. Continue following this new calorie plan of 1450 (plus usually 200-300 more from exercise).

I am sooo happy to share with like minded MFP members to share our journey. I cannot believe where the time went. I am 70 years old...but mindfully still young. However, my bones say otherwise. I have been diagnosed osteoporosis. I refused meds for the longest, and now I am even on a med to increase my bone mass. Glad I do not have side effects. My goal is more strengthening my bones than weight loss. I am tired of being "skinny fat". (A term a learned while studying why I got a mild heart attack in 2009). I need to work on muscle mass, strength and keeping my heart strong!!
April Goal: Walk daily at LEAST an hour increasing my steps to 10K (currently 6K)
25 day off processed sugar! Yay!!

Hi, All.
Happy to start April with the lowest weight I can recall as an adult (18 years old) - at 113lbs.
March was a good month - lower than my ultimate fantasy goal weight of 115.
My goal this month is to restart and try to be consistent with my strength training! My pitfalls - giving in to stress due to full time eldercare, or going too hard - ironically trying to alleviate the stress - and wind up hurting myself.
Found a YouTube program for women over 50 and researched moves to replace or avoid! So I think I’m set with my rower, airdyne bike, trx, punching bag, and dumbbells!

March - I didn't gain any ground, but didn't lose any. There was rather too much celebrating and mexican food involved to get this last bit gone.
I feel like April's goal is do-able, but I need to stay focused.

Hola Ladies!
Happy Thursday and Happy Easter. I was able to make my goal weight for March (140), but the end of the month sucked. Ended up pulling muscles in my shoulder/back and had to stop lifting weights for my upper body the last 2 weeks. Focused on chiro visits, light cardio and recovery until shoulder felt better. Started back today lifting upper and lower body, but taking it easy until shoulder is completely healed. April's goals include:- Watching my sugar intake
- Keeping up with water intake
- Keeping my stress level down - taking breaks (leaving my office), taking a proper lunch (not at my desk) and yoga
- Meal planning - Interested in trying Hello Fresh
I've been furloughed for the past few months due to covid, but now I will be returning back to my job My job can be stressful at times and I am a tad anxious that my stress level will halt my weight loss. However, I am determined to find better ways to handle my stress that includes a better work life balance and meal prepping for lunch and dinner. My weight goal for April is 138 pounds. Keeping it simple

I plan to continue to monitor my weight between now and my target date. However, I plan to shift my focus away from the scale and hone my behaviors/progress.
Evaluation of March goals:
1. Track calories and protein consistently and honestly. YES
2. Increase strength by exercising a minimum of 3 days a week. YES
3. Maintain a consistent sleep scheduled including weekends. YES
4. Control stress through mindfulness, deep breathing, yoga, and meditation. YES
5. Report back to this group in Apr 2021. YES
April goals:
1. Maintain a modest calorie deficit at least 70% of the time.
2. Hit my macros targets at least 80% of the time.
3. Strength training at least 4 days/week. Include intervals, 3 days/week.
4. Meditate 5-10 minutes per day, at least 4 days a week.
5. Report back to this group in May 2021.

02/04: 74.2 - yesterday I did a long bikeride to see a friend (outside with lots of distance), total of 89km / 55miles. The weather was gorgeous and I felt spring on my skin and in my bones @l4a_p ! I am supermotivated since we are back from our vacation week, and I hope I'll finally reach those 73 that have been my goal weight since the start of the year.

I was really inconsistent with my exercise and eating in Jan and Feb, but the past few weeks I have really been on top of things. Trying to keep up the momentum and not slack off!
April Goals:

I'm going to try super specific goals this month (instead of 'stop snacking', for example, which is clearly not working)
- drink tea w milk and stop drinking coffee with milk and sugar. This will save me calories and its healthier.
- eggs or protein for breakfast every day. I am starving and my diet is shot if I don't get protein in the morning.
- run a 10km - already signed up for a virtual one (Terry Fox Run - for cancer research) on April 11. It just remains to be seen if I can run it or will powerwalk it with friends. Regardless, I will get in a full 10km run by end of April.
Meanwhile, my area is back in a lockdown banning all indoor and outdoor sports and group fitness. Boo. I was set to start coaching my daughters spring soccer next week (which always means I get exercise too) and it is so so disappointing on so many levels to have that cancelled. Darn pandemic.

I kinda cheated and went to Zumba first...which was on my list to do...but hesitated until told myself "Better Go"!! Lol....I just need to move, and the instructor upbeat and the Latin beat mesmorizing!! I will also attend 6pm Wed class...

Apparently I can't lose weight or keep a consistent weight without you guys I always balloon back up. It seriously cuts down on the work clothes that I'm comfortable wearing, and I hate feeling restricted in my closet. I've had a pretty good weekend food and exercise-wise. Hopefully a good start to an even better month.5 -
Thank you @l4a_p for starting this! I've enjoyed reading everyone else's posts, and I really needed some accountability. I haven't made much progress for the past several months, partly due to a hamstring injury, which means I can't exercise. It has been getting me down a bit to not be able to go outside and move, especially when it's so beautiful out right now! But I've been back on track with my diet at least since the last week of March and am starting to feel better. (I've been in about a 300-350 cal deficit.) It feels good to know that I can at least make a little bit of progress with my weight loss goals even when I can't work out.

Sunday I ate terrible (thanks to the bf of course..., that guy!) but hoped I could compensate by doing excellent yesterday, but alas... Hope it's just a fluke/waterweight and not actual fat gain again.

06/04: 74.8 - the Easter weekend was ... well... strange to say the least. After a few days of gorgeous spring weather we are back to winter: hailstorms and big snowflakes and subzero temps during the night. To cheer us up, hubbie went to buy a delish Easter dinner, but that didn't help, did it? Now, he promised me that we will stay to our regular food for the rest of the month. I really do hope so. He likes eating as much as I do, but he is now training for a marathon and thus all the kilos and pounds don't stay on his hips and belly. We've got this !5 -

Lost the 1.6 lbs I gained over Easter. Up to 115 yesterday, then today back to 113.4. So thankful for all
I’ve learned here - I would have starved myself, panicked, felt like a failure, etc to see that almost 2 pound jump overnight. Did nothing differently at all - just went back to my old routine. Maybe, just maybe, I’ve got this?!?!😀
And the truth is the food and “treats” I ate to gain the water weight wasn’t the taste ecstasy I had imagined.6 -

I did pretty well this week except for Wednesday I gave in and ate most of a bag of chips...so maybe that's why my weight went up a bit this week. But otherwise I stuck to my plan. I guess I just have to be patient and keep going.3
