This UAC team is a wonderful blend of returning team members and new friends. We are all here to help each other reach their goals of health, fitness, and more. Some of us are working on weight loss and some of us are working on maintaining a healthy comfortable weight.
Each day is it's own discussion page. I encourage you to read the posts of other team members. You will learn more from each other than any one of us knows and/or what any one of us could teach.
Yesterday, April 1, two posts stood out as critically important advice to all of us:
@biketheworld wrote, "My biggest advice is: don’t give up. If by April 3 you’ve already taken 3 passes, so what. Keep trying, keep working on it, don’t quit. We don’t judge, we don’t roll our eyes at you, we’ve all been there and we truly understand. I’ve been here since January - I had 8 passes and in February took 6. In March I was focused and determined, the stars aligned and I made it to the winners circle with 3 passes. Never ever in my life have I gone an entire month without several binge days, even in my skinny 20’s. I have received life-changing advice and encouragement. Honestly. It took awhile to get my mojo, and i know there will be setbacks ahead, but I also know this group is legit. My second biggest advice: don’t expect too much too fast. Take it slow and make realistic goals. Enough for now - looking forward to meeting you all."
AND
@Mrs_Hoffer added, "I had a brutal February. It was a rough month all around and it was so bitter COLD that I couldn't do any outside exercise. I also had some personal issues and at the end of the month I had actually GAINED a pound and only lost 1/2 inch off my waist. BUT I DIDN'T QUIT. I was frustrated, yes, but I didn't quit coming back and logging every single day.
I'm happy to report that in March I lost a total of 6.4 lbs and 4.5 inches! In April I have new challenges (including my knee issues), but am looking forward to finding other ways to exercise as well as fine-tuning my eating habits.
I just finished a book called "THE OBESITY CODE: Unlocking The Secrets of Weight Loss" by Dr. Jason Fung MD and it's been a real eye opener. I got it from my library and highly recommend it!"

Three yeses here, I’ve enjoyed my Good Friday holiday with a nice sleep in after my exciting night out last night. We’re only allowed to socialise outdoors in groups of max six people here and the temperature has gone down now so I’m super glad I managed to squeeze an evening out in before it got cold! Lots of exercise today so tired legs tonight.
I agree, fantastic advice from @biketheworld and @Mrs_Hoffer . I was in the winners circle in Jan and Feb but found March way harder, I took several pass days but came back here every day. I still lost a few pounds and looking forward to losing some more in April.6 -
For the new folks, I echo @RangerRickL, please do read everyone's comments if you can. There are gems every single day from at LEAST five different people on any given day. You never know what will help you gain traction and action when it comes to your health. UACers are just the best.
Somehow, I managed to reach 40% protein without meat or protein powder 🙏🏿 I've managed to mess this up almost every Good Friday of my adult life but I finally went meatless effortlessly.
Can't say the same about the first session of Theresa Depasquale's 90-Day Workout Program. My "Pfft, I can do more than this" workout progression modifications were, umm, lofty. In my newfound humility, I've dialed back the month's schedule.

0/3 pass days I am going to try to put this in each day so I don’t need to keep track somewhere else. Walked twice today logged and stayed under. Have been able to refrain from evening snacks all week and no alcohol. Without a beer after work I find myself sleeping much and having less interrupted sleep hum maybe on to something maybe I should have a beer and do my own observation 😂😂 nope I’ll pass and look at it as empty calories.8

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes,1h 11min of walking + 18 min of walking.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, 1,365/1,400
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, 2,350 ml of fluid.
Pass days: 0 /3
burned calories: 1909 /33,000
Wall pushups done: 130 /3,000
Was a little busy today, and I might be so for a couple of days. I'll keep on exercising and dieting but on easy mode for now. I believe one of the reasons I had so many passes last month was because I pushed myself more than I should've. So I'll take it easy when I've to and not overstress myself.
@MaltedTea wow! The fact you didn't need protein powder to meet your requirements!!! I'm intrigued!! Kudos to you👏👍👍
Goodnight 💜💛

Fabulous advice from @biketheworld and @Mrs_Hoffer!
@MaltedTea - if you ever need advice on meatless protein, give me a holler! I have a few tricks up my sleeve. 😊
MaltedTea’s Good Friday protein comment reminds me of my late grandmother - who was my second “parent” growing up along with my mom. I stopped eating meat at 16 (37 now). She was the primary cook in the house. She fed me meatless meals for years, and was well aware of what I did and did not eat. Yet she never failed to call me EVERY Good Friday after I moved out to remind me not to eat meat because - you know - “just incase” I forgot about not eating meat and ate a hot dog on Good Friday 😂. Sorry for the randomness but it made me think of it and that yearly ritual always made me smile and I miss it. ❤️
Anyhoo... I hope everyone had a good day!10 -

@biketheworld and @Mrs_Hoffer — great advice! I had a tough March but the advice to pick yourself up and keep going is exactly right! You’re only out for the count if you refuse to get up... we can do this! Slowly but surely!7 -
yes, yes, and yes (I think)
Food was good and I logged. First day since surgery I felt good enough to do some work around the house, a little yard work, but mostly reorganized my office and some other areas, lots of moving things around and cleaning. Grandkids helped with the heavier furniture moving the Dr tells me I can't do for a while. Normally I would probably not count this as exercise, but for me today it really was so I am going to claim it.9 -
