Chris and Shelley,
Please take care of yourselves.

Sometimes my body gets tired of low-carb. The craving to have something carb-ish feels natural.
So every few months I might go over limit. As long as it's just a temporary non-extravaganza break in eating habits (and not a complete blow-out or an ongoing change), it seems okay. [At least, that's what I'm telling myself (fingers crossed).]
Now, answer this. How come it takes a month to lose 1-2 pounds, but you can gain it all back - overnight - just by snacking on peanuts and corn cakes? Not fair!
paula1 -
Paula - so not fair! I agree on the carbs.....I have that strong urge tool. Have you heard of "carb cycling?" Some IF-ers do it.....about once a month I allow myself a higher carb day than normal. Feels like my body needs it (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

Chris - Beauty & the Beast was quite good! Odd to see the kids wearing masks (I don't know how they did it for 2 hours of singing and dancing)...but they did great!
We are going again tomorrow!
Karen1 -
Karen, so glad it was a good show.
Paula...I'm going thru that this morning. Tried to read but could only think about pb and grahams. So I had them. Funny, but now I'm hungry for salad!! AND I agree with the month to lose the 1 or 2 pounds gained in one day. Man!!
Kathy, I will follow doctor's orders. Maybe he'll take me off blood pressure meds...that would be nice.
Shelley, this is the second time he'd had me cut the BP pill in half!! My blood tests came back normal but for two items -- Neutrophils were lower than Standard Range and Lymphocytes were higher. Don't know if that'll mean anything or if another blood test would fix things. I've never been out of Range before. I'll just wait and see what he says.
Going to start a new book this afternoon. Salad at 4:00 p.m.
Have a great Friday, everyone.

Yesterday I was walking around one of the parks and there were four 10 year olds playing across the path I was walking on. As I got near them they scrambles up to their other friends under the shade of a tree. As I passed them, I said, "Thank you, guys, for clearing the road!" I got wide-eyed looks from at least three of them like they didn't know what I was talking about or they were wondering if they were getting yelled at or just the fact an old gray-hair was talking and waving to them...it was pretty funny.
Grocery shopping yesterday was a blast! Man! the things I remembered and the things I didn't! Good thing Sara was with me! We are planning a Kohl's shopping trip next Sunday. Another place I haven't been to in at least a year and a half! Looking forward to it.
Going to read now.
Later my friends.

Good job Chris. Foster friendship between the generations wherever you can.

Shelley, I say "Hi!" to everyone we pass on our walks.

I am looking into buying a cherry tree for my area. I love big sweet juicy cherries more than anything.

Doc's appt went okay. My workout was hard. My morning with Ronan was wonderful!
Chris1 -
We had Ronan until 3:00. Sara and Pete went to get Pete's second shot this afternoon. So all the grown-ups are vaccinated. Now, if we could only get all our friends to get their shots!!

Happy to report I have hit a milestone! I think we've all had our weight loss ups and downs over the years. I had weight loss surgery about 7 years ago and lost 150 pounds. Life, premature menopause, intense work travel, a few surgeries, and getting too lax contributed to me gaining 40 pounds over a few years. So I went from an 8 pants to a 16....that sucked ;(
Slow and steady wins the race though right? With intermittent fasting, therapy, exercise and your support, I have lost 30ish pounds of that regain and can now wear my size 8s again without being arrested for indecency! So happy 😊 So cool how the fasting and fat loss works where the scale may not show it....so a happy Friday for sureScale says 164.2, pants say 8

Good job, Karen! I put on 30 during Covid. Having the hardest time with the final 18...or I need a new scale.
Doctor's scale was actually kinder than my scale on Wednesday. Crazy.
Chris1 -
Chris I believe the doctors scales the most. Good job.
Paula you are winning. Great job.
The rack for the back of my bike arrived. I can't wait until the bike arrives. Or at least knew when in May it ships.
We learned how to put the wrap on a person today. You need several people to be able to use it. But it basically wraps up a person to prevent them from hurting themselves or others.
Shelley1 -
Shelley/Chris - I pick the scale with the lowest number LOL!
Karen1 -
My Covid gain was around 40 pounds and it feels really good to have gotten rid of most of it; and most my clothes fit again, but I still have about 15 to go. I'm just so relieved my metabolism switched to locarb so that it doesn't feel like a constant battle. (Just skirmishes.
)
Shelley, The use of alternative ways to make a person safer sound like much needed forward-thinking. :flowerforyou:
Paula1 -
Shelley, I agree with what Paula said^^^
It hit the 80's here in Northern California today!! We had Ronan and Bean for a bit this morning while the kids went for their eye appts. Got him a Baby Yoda...he thought it was soo cute! Had Sara pick up my glasses instead of going in to get them. Big mistake!! One lens seems for near and one lens seems for distance. Have an appt Monday to have them double checked...darn!
Well, the scale did go lower this morning, but I did get to sleep in until 7:30!
Chris0 -
I want warmer weather Chris. So envious. Sorry about your glasses. That stinks.
Karen can I borrow your scale?
Paula in some ways I agree. But it only works if we outnumber the suspect. The media does not usually discuss the statistics of how many times officers go into situations by themselves. Most contact with the public is officer one, civilians more. The wrap is just one tool that we can utilize. We use it in the jail and now the courthouse. I like working in the courthouse. I get to help people a lot.
Today my husband cut some Plexiglas so I could make a little cage for my coral. A small fish has been living on it. Killing it with love. I drilled dozens of holes in the panels. I hope I was in time.
