We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.

Today's Topic: ‘It’s the season

Call me a cockeyed optimist, but I’m thinking that spring is finally here. What do you do that marks the start of spring? How is your life different in spring?

Spring is when the grounds crew for the HOA removes the reflectorized stakes from along the driveway. (For those in the Deep South, those tell the plow crew where the driveway is - and isn’t.)

I demonstrate my personal recognition of spring by deciding it’s time to swap winter tires for summer tires.

My life is mildly different because it’s warm enough to walk outside instead of Nordic Trac in the basement.

Spring brings the start of, fresh and local, fruits and veggies, to MI. I love the steady change of 'in season' produce over the next 6 months or so, the first being asparagus! I try to enjoy each healthy choice at it's best, and it definitely helps with the volumetrics approach mentioned in another thread!

I love the dawning of the age of asparagus!!!
Swapping out winter tires reminds me that is is time to take my studded winter tires off my hybrid bike. I have just ridden other bikes and let it sit. No chance of snow and ice now anyway.
