Mothers day lunch with my wife, mother and sister. I think all had a good day.
Although well under on calories for the day, did not go for a walk for me (I did walk the GSD puppy twice for more than 20 mins each time. Walking a 40kg pulling machine is quite a workout). As such pass day 2 for this month.
Happy Mothers day to all mothers.10 -
Happy Mother's Day to all!
Mine will not be complicated. Yesterday was my primary celebrating with a followup with my mother once I get back from Maine. I survived the complicated yesterday with that planning. Success does feel good.
@craigo3154 Glad you had a nice mother's day with family! Enjoy the pup!7 -

Not sure why you don't count dog walks toward your exercise objective? Would seem that movement is movement. I certainly count mine. Actually. I consider the walks "mine" and the dog is forced to come along😁 I do allow some stopping to sniff and potty, since our walks are always 30 to 90 minutes.5 -

Good for you! Planning ahead is so important for me. Letting things just unravel as they come is the recipe for a pass day.4 -

A successful day. Morning run before a beautiful church service where my friend’s adorable little boy was dedicated on his first birthday. I don’t get to morning services that often these days between work and going camping etc so it was great to catch up with friend’s at that service and all their kids.
Home for lunch and some admin for the week ahead. Food prepped and some aspects of travel organised for competition weekend. The rest needs to be done during office hours so that will hopefully be sorted tomorrow. Then visited friend’s to drop off coffee I bought for them in Cape Town cos they were away celebrating anniversary this weekend. They stayed in an ox wagon which sounded so awesome.
Good food choices and under budget (even with a glass of Amarula to end the day with).7 -
@Dory_42 Amarula This our favourite in the family... I should quit my sober living2

3 x Yes. Still very tired, so I only managed a 20-minute walk with a little rest halfway. I did sleep better, last night. Still on easily digestible food, in small portions. I had lunch in two parts as well, and dinner in three. Majorly stressed by partner this afternoon, but I coped and didn't deviate from my planned food. On the whole, a pretty good day...8 -
@jan110144 - Planning/tracking does make such a difference. I like it when I have the time and energy for it. And once I do one day, that often makes the next day easier as well and on and on.
I'll also answer the question that was not directed at me. That is your question about not counting dog walking. Myself, I choose to not count what I consider just normal activities. I don't count walking my cats (yes, I said cats). I also move a lot just in my normal day and don't count any of that. I currently only count exercise as those things that are above and beyond "normal". BUT, that is me and that is what I currently need the "20 minutes of exercise" to mean as I am trying to cement the habit of daily FORMAL exercise. There could be another time at which I might choose to count more typical daily activities if that is what best supported then.6 -

Ended up with a pass day yesterday as I really overdid the yard work and had trouble catching back up which ended up with some poor choices after dinner <shrug>
As far as "is the 20 min walk the dog" to count, the beauty of this challenge is that we hold ourselves accountable to our own set of parameters. Craig doesn't count it. Jan does. Sherri doesn't. I personally would count it esp on a rest day it only matters how we each have set up our own requirements.

It pains me to write it but another pass day for me. I spent pretty much the whole day on my feet but not much actual exercise. Baked another birthday cake for my son as he had friends round, we fired up,the pizza oven. I didn’t keep a track of calories, definitely went over. Really looking forward to a good day tomorrow, so much simpler when not baking and entertaining!11

@craigo3154 Everyone is encouraged to set their own standards for what they consider exercise. I agree with @jan110144 that we encourage movement.
I/we respect each others decisions regarding themselves.
