Day was three yes. Was dicey for a bit. Hubby is out of town and I decided to have corned beef hash, from my year old canned food lockdown supply. I enjoyed every bit. Did have to make sure I did not just do the minimum exercise. But it all worked out.5

I'm checking in early as I've pre-logged everything already. Since I have a morning flight tomorrow I'll be retiring early. After a lot of thought I decided for vacation I would do maintenance calories plus my active calories. We typically walk 8-10 miles a day when we're on vacation so that should provide me with sufficient active calories to stay within my limits.
As far as restaurants I'm going to avoid fried food (for me that means no french fries) and mostly eat salads with protein. I'll also keep any salad dressings on the side. I'm planning to eat seafood as much as possible and minimize other meat. I'll still end up gaining a few pounds most likely (based on prior experience) but that tends to be water weight and disappears after a week. I'll be keeping track of what I eat on my phone and log everything when I get home as well as update here. I'm one of those annoying people who takes pictures of their food but in this case it will be helpful in logging. I'll also take photos of the menu description so I know the primary ingredients.9 -

@SummerSkier I understand your concern. For example: Costa Rica which had low cases for a year of lock-downs, has suddenly shot up due to a societal easing starting at Easter holiday.
We were planning on going to see dear friends in Costa Rica, but they have urged us to cancel our trip.
A great place to look at Covid data in graphic format is www.worldindata.org
Costa Rican cases since Easter look like a rocket took off.1 -
I posted today's results as I was reading through some of yesterday's posts.
It was a modest 3 yes day.5 -

Exercised and that's it. 4pass days. Went out for dinner and had no say in what was ordered so I just ate to avoid the conversation of how one day wouldn't make a difference. The only thing that went my way is that I didn't have any alcohol and had one spoon of a shared dessert.9

@Higa2021 - that is always a tough spot to be in. It seems people want to eat whatever they want and don’t want to be made to feel guilty or self conscious while doing so. In the past, I would just eat to avoid the discussion and then feel horrible after. I have an autoimmune disease and many foods bother me. Even without an illness, as you know, our bodies react to foods we know we shouldn’t or don’t want to eat - mentally and/or physically. Now I don’t tell people I am watching what I eat or go into detail about my illness, I just simply say - “No thank you. I wish I could, but when I eat food like that, my body reacts terribly for a few days.” People don’t want others to not feel well and tend to accept that because they don’t feel judged for what they choose to eat. I noticed the same thing about alcohol. Peer pressure exists even in our latter years. I may have one or two or none (it depends on the day, my goals, what I have to do the next day, etc) and I just say my stomach isn’t handling alcohol that well so I’m trying to limit it. That’s it. No more detail. It seems to work. It is my body and my choices. I am trying not to be influenced by others. Now when I go to my mom’s — it gets a bit harder.
