I've been doing pretty well keeping my weight trending down. I started getting serious about running again which is definitely helping. I'm dreading the cicadas coming and forcing me to run inside though :/

@Eridove Congrats for getting to the last stubborn pounds! Getting rid of my last few pounds coincided with Lent and a step challenge from a MFP pal. I gave up snacks - even though my calories were the same - and the step challenge was 10,000 steps a day - more than double my usual. So I increased my NEAT, danced a lil more, walked a lil more and I reached a point where I don’t want to lose any more - something I thought I’d never think!

Thank you for the advice, and congratulations on your success! :) I definitely am trying to give up the unhealthy snacks and switch them out for healthier options (e.g., fruits and vegetables). Maybe I could amp up my workouts a bit.

    ME:
    31y * 5'9" * BMI:22 * Weight goal: 63kg (138,89lbs)

    Jan loss:- 2,3kg~70,4
    Feb loss:-1.4kg~69
    March loss: -0.1kg~68.9kg
    April loss: ???

    GOALS:
    1. Low intake of sugar (<50grams/day)
    2. Keep up 16h fasting
    3. 5/2 fasting pattern
    4. Alcohol max 4x/week

Since I don't have access to a scale (while travelling), I can only use my measurements as a point of reference.

    Chest: 95cm
    Stomach: 83cm
    Waist: 75cm
    Belly: 90cm
    Hips: 102cm
    Thigh: 60cm

Goals are similar to the usual, but less strict.

16 May: 69.2kg - I got a mini travel scale! No idea how accurate the thing is but better than nothing. I gained a bit, bu no more than a kg more or less. So all in all satisfied with that. The goals are out the window tho: almost every day alcohol and sugar! So difficult to stay on track when you're off your routine. Same for the workouts... need to pick them back up asap.

But I'm honestly not as vexed as usual: I'm having the time of my life and never been happier!

New here to MFP community in general, but I need accountability!
    Me: 39, 5’7”
    CW: 139.8 lb
    May BMI: 22
    Estimated body fat%: 24
    June 1st GW: 136, 23% BF
    TARGET DATE: 6/5/21
    Ultimate GW: 125-130, 19-20% BF

    1. Continue 14-16 hr fasting
    2. 350 calorie deficit daily
    3. 350 calorie burn daily between cardio & strength
    4. 50-60% fat, 30% protein, 10-20% carb

Maintaining diet and exercise routine is what I struggle with the most. When I do it, I feel great, but my longest streak of sticking with a routine is 5 weeks. I usually meet some goal, then derail. Maintaining a healthy diet and routine is important to me because I have a family history of unhealthy lifestyles. I see many of my family members struggling with health problems now in their late 40s through early 60s. I work hard, so I’m really wanting to live my best life outside of work and after my working years are over! I don’t want to deal with diabetes, heart disease, non-alcoholics cirrhosis, and the various aches, pains & limitations that follow these diagnoses. So I need accountability to remind me that there is not an “end” once I reach my goal weight or shape. It’s ongoing & a lifestyle/ life change.

    Welcome to this community !

I hear you. I could have written that text at your age, now my longest streak is a bit longer and the range of my gains and losses is a bit smaller but I still have that all or nothing attitude. The main things I will change this time to STAY in a healthy frame of mind are:
    1. setting my goal weight a little bit higher (71 instead of 69) and determine a range instead of a fixed weight
    2. getting there in a much slower pace, getting used to maintenance
    3. using a weight trend app
    4. I managed to determine my exact BMR and calories spend in exercise, I now know exactly how much to eat in day
    5. I focus on weekly total instead of daily totals
    6. Something that I have been doing for a long time (except now with Covid) is choosing exercise that I love doing. I hate the gym and being indoors, so my exercise is biking to work and scuba diving.
    7. Being accountable here in these threads.

Hope this help a little bit

Been here for a while, but put on some COVID weight from stress and binging so halfway through losing it again.

    Age: 25
    Height: 158 cm (5'2)
    CW: 51.8kg
    GW: 48kg

    Goals:

    1. Stick with the second half of my plan and then maintain rather than binging it back.
    2. Get in at least 15,000 steps 4 days a week and weightlift x4 a week
    3. Get to bed at a reasonable time and track everything I eat rather than mindlessly eating everything in sight.

Currently stuck at a bit of a plateau with my weight after a stressful week or two. Any tips for breaking through?

    @Antiopelle you are always inspiring!
@Eridove congrats on that awesome loss - i would say you are already winning the fight! Amazing.
@RJellybeans5 - it sounds like you have a great workout going so your metabolism must be revving. But the snacking gets us, eh? I'm in a plateau to. To break through, I need to stay super busy and away from the kitchen between meals. At meals, as soon as I'm close to full, I brush my teeth. The sweetness tricks my brain into thinking it's had dessert and the meal is done. You are less likely to snack on clean teeth! Once I've had a great few days in a row, I feel righteous and Im motivated to not ruin my progress. I just have to trick myself into getting to that point! That, and I force myself to go run up some stairs or hills. That'll kick your butt! Good luck to us!

    GW - 125-127?

    May 1: 131lbs
    May 14:131.7
    May 22: 130!!!

The scale actually said 129.8lbs for a moment this morning, likely because I'm dehydrated. But I'll take it! This is the first time I've been below 130 in years. Yay! I hope I'm done with the plateau of the last month or two (I've been losing the same darn 1.5 lbs over and over). Thanks to some MFP friends suggestions, I've increased my strength training and I think that's done the trick to rev my metabolism. I had kind of forgotten about that as I've been enjoying cardio (runs/walks/biking) in the gorgeous spring weather. That and I've been strict: no alcohol, no cheese, no fried foods, less bread / pasta and only a taste of dessert.

I've got a huge day of digging and hauling boulders and dirt in my garden today so no need for a workout - I'm going to be pumped! Just need to NOT congratulate myself afterwards with a cold beer or glass of wine....or maybe just one!

Ahh! There has been so much going on with so many excuses and I’ve been falling for all of them. My birthday, Mother’s Day, anniversary, kid’s high school graduation (and all the stress of deadlines for colleges and scholarships), summer trip planned -and then postponed for work trips, then my husband ended up in the hospital.

All that to say, my resolve has been low, my alcohol has been high, and I’ve been eating out… a lot. And not fast food that I can count, but nice, niche restaurants that can’t really be calculated. I have been to the gym in a while either. My tummy is puffy and the scale is understandably not going down. Believe it or not, my clothes still fit-even the skinny jeans and shorts! But I need to get back on track, so I will be posting daily for a while because this group is really motivating!

As far as weight goes, it’s not a bad number. And my skinny clothes fit. But I don’t feel good. My stomach is bloated and my fitness level is lower than it’s been in a while. My goal for this week is to focus on getting back to the gym. I need to get my shape back before seeing family this summer!
