We are encouraged by advertising to drink everything else. I don't drink enough water.
I'm going to go get a glass of water right now!
How about you?

I keep a bottle of water on my bedside table, so I could drink a big glass immediately after opening the eyes5

Yes, I have my own pitcher on the counter with 96oz that I drink throughout the day and just make sure it's emptied every night by bedtime. I also heard that drinking a large glass of H2O immediately upon arising in the morning is supposed to be very good for your liver. I also do that.5

How to Stop Stress Eating: 3 Uncommon Tools for Ending Emotional Eating – I enjoyed this article and going to try some of the tricks…. In particular, what I found important is removing “the guilt around emotional eating”. The ideas are not new, but sometimes it is not bad to be reminded

Complete out of the topic for today, sorry for that7 -
Water? I am terrible about that and my CRS and urologist have admonished me. Today is Wednesday. I did have a bottle of water on Sunday driving some from helping daughter all day to move from condo to new house.
@Winner_in_Life great quote! It very much relates to yesterday’s comment by @achagpar about how much of a head game “weight loss” is. I’ll check out that article link!
Nothing wrong with multiple topics! Both are equally good!6 -

Hi Donna @donna25trinity
I do eat salt (avg over the past year 1,800mg/day)
Dietary Sugar avg over the past year averages 93g/day) & includes ALL sugars (friuits/veg & some very dark chocolate)
I have found that if either of these numbers go high, I start having a lot of mouth hunger, which I hate as then I eat more & scale inches up & I HATE to diet. So I reduce them again. Takes me 3 days. Then I maintain “in the flow” again.
Mostly I do it by
1 not eating out/take out.
2 purchasing foods with modest sodium
3 eliminating white sugar (except for what is in the very dark chocolate)
Interestingly, I have low blood pressure & blood glucose even when I em eat more sodium & sugar, but I limit them to keep my “fake” appetite at bay so I can maintain my healthy weight.
Does this help?
Best,
Maddie8 -

What I noticed I started inserting German words when writing in English; this happened already in 2 posts: „was “instead of “what”; “sie” instead of “she”….

A brilliant day! France is partially coming out of lockdown and when I went on my hour-long walk through and around the city centre, I was amazed how many people were milling around, sitting in the sun outside cafes and restaurants, eating, drinking and chatting. It feels like normality, except we are still wearing masks and have to be in by 9pm.
I stayed under calories, had a big salmon and shrimp salad for lunch and chickpea curry for dinner, logged everything.
I have to go to Bordeaux tomorrow afternoon to examine on Friday and from there to Toulouse on Saturday, so food is slightly problematic again. I can at least have breakfast and lunch at home, already planned and pre-logged. Will get a walk in tomorrow morning as well ...9 -

And I am going to be a naysayer on the drinking so much water.. I drink coffee and flavored water and fruit juice etc during the day but I am going to be danged if I am going to FORCE myself to drink gallons of water because for me at least I just don't need it. It seems to me that if your pee is very dense than maybe you do need more fluids, but I think most of the folks carrying around those big gulp containers of water all day have pee the color of water... I agree fluids are important but our bodies are pretty good at letting us know when we need more. or less.
(and that's my rant for the day)11 -
Exercise - yes 30 minutes of Pilates, 45 min walk, 25 minute swim
Tracking - yes
Calories- yes
Another good day! This week is going well and I’m enjoying dieting again after a few wobbly weeks.
@Chinkiri I’m jealous of your trip to Bordeaux! I studied there for a year (back in 96!! So long ago!) and only returned for a visit in 2019. Such a beautiful city. So many memories. (Some good, some just memorable!!). And Toulouse too! Do share a pic if you take any! I can live vicariously through you.
On the water topic, @SummerSkier your rant has made me chuckle! I drink a lot of tea and some favoured water so water on top of that does feel a bit forced. I do enjoy having quite a lot of water when I get up on the morning though, it makes me feel really good. My mum swears by having hot water and lemon when she gets up but i never get around to that.9 -
Exercise yes - a day of cycling. I didn't get my usual steps but the cycling more than made up for that.
Logging yes, but some estimating.
Calories yes, but I had to use the "banked" calories as I gave in and had an ice cream.
I'm on holiday so my calorie allowance is higher than usual.
Water? That is a highly debated issue. I do drink plenty of plain water, and I limit coffee these days. I don't drink sweet drinks.8 -

Under:No, I ate about 1800 calories today, with exercise i can eat about 1600 calories so I'm about 200 over. I cooked some really good food that pair well with instant ramen (the reason why i over eat since a single one of them was 570 a calories a pack and I ate it twice (lunch and dinner). Had I ate it with rice instead I would have capped oout around 300-400 calories per serving, but it's okay! I'm honestly not upset and will just do better tomorrow.8 -

I drink a lot of water (especially since going into ketosis), averaging about 12 cups per day. On most days after my run about 2-3 cups of that water is an electrolyte drink where I add some lemon juice, salt and some stevia. That can be important since I am in ketosis which can deplete electrolytes. I also drink a 20 ounce coffee every day, and on most days will also have about 16 ounces of chai tea and about 16 ounces of green tea. I pee like a race horse an awful lot which I blame on my age and when the urge hits there better not be anyone in the way of the bathroom! But it is a very bright, sunny yellow which I can chalk up to my daily multivitamins.

Did I miss a recipe??? Always looking for new ones! Please share!1 -
As for water, I’m a big believer in drinking plain water. I drink at least 64 oz( not counting my exercise water which can be up to 25 oz most days) every day. Being mildly dehydrated leads to fatigue and less optimal mental clarity. Often we can reach for food when actually we are thirsty. The more I drink, the better in tune I am to actual thirst. I’ve found that when I’ve had major travel days and drank less ( to avoid so many bathroom stops), I’ve been less aware of actual thirst.

I probably drink too much water when we are in school (and have had to do mad bathroom dashes). At home, I find myself drinking decaf coffee most the day with the occasional glass of water. Unless I am on the spin bike, then I go through 2 water bottles sometimes ( I am, unfortunately, a sweater 😓). Based on urine color, all seems good.

Just did a quick 20 minutes on the indoor bike to make today 3 yeses. Exercise is not as good as it was in Florida, but more importantly, i am keeping the habit of everyday exercise going.5

Scratch this, inspiration hit me so I actually just spent an extra hour on. the bike, which put me back within my calories limit. I'm so tired right now but it worth it :P

I struggle to drink “enough” water but generally don’t see a problem. @SummerSkier I’m on your page with this one. That said, I could tell I was bloated the last couple days so upped my water to take care of it.
Yes to all 3 today

Planned pass day--that makes 3.
I used to be terrible about drinking enough water, but when I moved to Texas I realized it really wasn't optional anymore. Now I take my 36-ounce bottle everywhere and refill it at least once a day. I'm also a great devotee of sparkling water.6 -

I’ve been getting better about drinking water but have been going through a funk where I don’t track as I should and go well over my calorie goal... #icecreamtherapy. So I’m out of the winners circle this month but thanks so much @biketheworld and @SModa61! I was half thinking of throwing in the towel and not checking in but I read your comments and thought, you’re right. I’ve gotta give myself some space but keep checking in... eventually I’ll get myself back on track. Also love the idea of pre-tracking! It might seriously help me control the constant comfort eating... I’m going to try that tomorrow... I’ll let you guys know how it goes!
Thanks again!6
