I’m making a list of ideas so I try and keep things flowing. Ironically, just yesterday I was asking a member to share a recipe they were talking about. Happy to add a recipe day to my list.5 -
@OhJackie @RangerRickL @SModa61 On the 'What's on your Mind' Forum please! I already have trouble scrolling through long posts! Otherwise lovely idea!2

Been a tough few days, mainly mentally. I have been able to do my work, walk the dog and miscellaneous housework, but not much beyond that. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things soon.13 -

20th May
3 x Yes
Trying to sort out some of my partner's problems scuppered my walk this morning, but my train got into Bordeaux early enough this evening to get in a bit of a walk, total of 35 minutes.
Calories: under. I had to dine on a salad, as there was no microwave to heat up my planned hot dish, but I stayed under and logged everything.

Exercise – yes – walking and light cardio, total steps over 12,000.
Logging – yes
Calories – yes
We cut our holiday short by one day because the weather was so dreadful today – and forecast just as bad tomorrow.
So, no cycling today but caught up with cardio and walking videos after I got home. Plus, a short outdoor walk early before the rain started!

Morning beach walk with bub then went out for dinner with my boys which was lovely as we never do week night dinners out. I ate very light through the day so plenty of calories to indulge tonight. I started off with a coffee and a cake and was shocked that i was really full after that. I still ate dinner though.
Great recipes idea. @smoda61 and @RangerRickL i always learn so much from u all and get so inspired from the wealth of knowlage so perhaps we can hve a day where the group shares top 5 habits to achieving there weigjt loss goals or we cld even do a non weight related one so 5 things u do to be in happy in life. I don't know about anyone else, but I know for me I struggled for my whole life getting yo-yo results. Be it diets or exercise regimens, gym memberships, whatever. While I found some seemingly some great results over a few months, I would just stop and gain everything back. Lather, rinse and repeat for decades. Nothing that was able to last for more than a year really.
Looking back now at what specific thing may have been the "switch" that was turned on which I think really turned things around was simply addressing my mental health (or maybe just allowing myself to care for myself). By late 2013 I found myself starting to have anxiety attacks which was scary because I was the rock of my immediate and even extended families. The years of struggle with my neuro-typical self compared to my 3 lovely, autistic children took a toll on all of us, of course. But I had apparently reached a tipping point.
I guess I was lucky that while I was addressing all that, and making great progress in the mental health area, that my doctor gave me the bad news about my pre-diabetic among other conditions. I guess for the first time in my life I was able to truly focus on my health and stick with it, and the root of all that may have come with simply addressing the need to deal with myself, including my mental health. Prior to that I could just figure it out or deal with it later, or whatever. I finally let myself be a priority in my own life in order to simply make it.
I don't know if it is really the mental health part, or simply the prioritizing myself that was the key and has allowed me to achieve far more lasting results (even with a 2 year setback), or maybe it was both.
Anyway, sorry that got so wordy. I guess what I am suggesting is some sort of day to recognize that. Be it caring for your mental health (your mind creates your reality), or simply allowing yourself to be a priority, because without YOU you can't do all those things for the others who you care about. You have to allow yourself to be a priority before you can care for others. That's just a simple relationship fact. And it took me far, far too long to realize it.
I'm getting wordy again so I'm going to can it for now. I don't really know what specifically I'm suggesting either. But something along those lines of how you ensure you are truly caring for yourself.12 -

Exercise - yes 30 mins yoga and 45 mins walk. Plus it really feels that somehow standing and watching my son play football in the freezing cold tonight should somehow count as exercise!
Tracing - yes
Calories - yes
Cold and tired tonight… @Chinkiri you are right, your travelling life sounds less glamorous when you are eating salads because you can’t heat your food! Hope you enjoyed your little walk tonight though.9 -
Today I had some work annoyances, and in the past, I've treated myself to ordering out when I've felt stressed. Instead I did a full body stretch and some yoga. Also, got in a 20 min arm workout and feel less caught in my head.

@SModa61Ideas:- Share your best weight loss tip,
- What did you do today to stay on track?,
- Share a motivational quote that inspires you on this journey,
- Share your favourite fruit salad,
- Most helpful thing you've learned on this journey.
Today I was feeling hungry, and it seems I snacked all afternoon. However I did a great job of staying within my calories. Even after supper, I was still feeling hungry so I checked my nutritional chart and I was low on carbs. So I ate 2 cups of watermelon which nicely seemed to take away my hunger. This time around I am paying more attention to my macros. Although I was losing weight last summer, it was slow. It appears I ate a higher percentage of fat than MFP suggests. I've also added cycling to my exercise routine which will help to burn some extra calories. Yes, yes & yes today

First day back at the gym without a mask requirement for fully vaccinated people. It was weird. But liberating? But weird. I kept expecting someone to pop out of no where and yell at me. They didn’t. So weird.8 -

@Mrs_Hoffer - I’m so sorry to hear about your friends son. I can’t even imagine.
Today was my first bike-to-work ride of the season. I try to do that at least once every week during the summer. It’s 23 miles each direction. I feel fine except my neck which hurts like crazy. This has always been an issue for me, but it seems worse tonight.
Exercise - pretty sure that’s a yes

@Oh_Jackie @WhatMeRunning @Jana_2020 @Chinkiri thanks all for sharing thoughts on the contents of the daily threads. I appreciate it. I've added these notes, to my notes and will do my best to use all this advice.

Yes x 3.
After mixed news from the vet this morning, I came home and took a long walk to clear my head. I also did some yard work before the day really heated up. So, lots of calories burned--hopefully this offsets my lack of exercise yesterday.7
