Welcome to the June 2021 Ultimate Accountability Challenge!
Some of you have been with this challenge for months and some are brand new. This is one of the hardest challenges to stay with throughout the entire month.
FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!! Log every BLT (Bite, Lick, Taste). Stay strong and true to yourself....YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better.
GOOD LUCK!

I love this Bird This will be 4th month for me. Thank you @RangerRickL for the brilliant idea to keep other people on track. I am so happy to discover this community5

I'm definitely in for another month. This is a great challenge!5

I'm back for month seven.5

Back for my sixth month. This group has been such a great support for me--I finally managed to lose the weight I've been dragging around for the last ~7 years, and now I'm focused on maintenance. I really wasn't sure I'd ever get to this point!5

I'm hoping to see @JacquelineCharmander continue with us for June too! You did so well in May!! And welcome to all the newcomers!
To the regulars: "Hi again, UAC family!"
This bilingual Canadian's goal? Maintain my body fat in the low 20% range (or, gulp, high teens) since I've never been able to do that before. Along the way, getting stronger, more flexible, running a sub-60 minute 10 km and working on mobility improvements are fun bonuses.
I'm in a body recomp phase right now and will likely be in this phase until autumn.
Ultimately, I'm here to stay with UAC because this part - the body fat and weight loss - is easier for me. Once the recomp is done, the maintaining might be a heavier mental struggle/commitment to self.
JUN Exercise: Theresa DePasquale's 90-day workout program (Phase 2, umm, yes...again), 10 km pace improvement and stair climbing
JUN Nutrition: Hit my protein macro (40%) at least twice a week 😭 and keep fat macro between 25%-29% for the month's average
@Winner_in_Life I was also tickled to bits by the owl this month!5 -
Wild horses couldn’t drag me out of this group. Oh, I can be more creative than that. How about, crazed zombies chasing me through an old graveyard couldn’t convince me to quit this group. In other words, June will be my 6th month and it’s the BEST!11

Everyone who has posted so far already know me. But for the new folk.......
First joined Oct 2020 and hit what was then my goal weight some time in January. Was nervous about the transition to maintenance so dabbled with an eased up calorie deficit for February, but lost a little more. Went officially into "maintenance" at March challenge and yes for me maintenance is a greater mental challenge plus I was dealing with the dynamics of Florida. There food/stress were an issue though exercise was fantastic. March and April, I was out of the winner's circle by a long shot - 18 passes for march and I think 15 for April. BUT I stayed with the UAC. As I am writing it is May, again out of the winner's circle, at 7 passes for the month but am continuing my accountability by recording efforts (or lack there of) for each day and these positive habits are reflected on my scale.
I'm a 59 year old grandma with two adult kids. Hubby and I live what I call a nomadic lifestyle - we live in Maine, Massachusetts and Florida, depending on the day.
Looking forward to continuing with UAC friends and also looking forward to the company of our new.7 -
Hi. I am looking forward to this. My main form of exercise is walking. I try to get 10000 steps a day. I am working on adding jump rope and squats right now and soon adding doing the hulu hoop on some days. Hopefully this group will help stay on track. Thanks for adding me!7

Hello hello,
Last year I joined this challenge and had a 6 month streak, where I lost 30 lbs. I took a break from MFP to test my lifestyle without calorie counting and am happy to say I kept my weight off and have continued on track with a healthy lifestyle!
I'm back because I'm ready to get back on track and head toward my final goal weight This challenge played a huge role in my weight loss and I'm glad to be rejoining, it will certainly be interesting to see how well I can stick to calorie counting after a year off!7 -
May had it’s good aspects (got back on the competition mats and earned a silver medal) and some bad days (caught the COVID plague on my trip for competition). But by the start of June I’ll be fully recovered and ready to focus on getting ready for the next competition (even though that won’t be happening for a couple of months as South Africa is in the third wave of COVID infections). I intend to work on a few aspects of my Jiu Jitsu game but also make a concerted effort to get to my goal weight off under 70kgs. To do that I need to be logging my food properly and making good choices on the nutrition front. I easily meet exercise requirements with my lifestyle but give into treats far too often. Competitions are a great way to focus on what I need to do right.8

Hi, I think I just joined this challenge and, frankly, I'm a bit scared of y'all. However, I need to be better about my accountability, especially with what I eat and drink. I weigh in every day. I walk the dog every day, sometimes more than once if I'm not working that day. But I don't always log everything I eat and I haven't been keeping track of what I drink either. So, maybe this challenge is what I need. (Sometimes I seem to do better when I think other people are "watching," whether they really are or not). So.... I have been on and off MFP for several years now. This time around, as of today, I've been here for 363 days. This time around, I've lost 37.5 pounds, but for the past 4-5 months, I've been yoyo-ing within 3-4 pounds either side of 180 and I need to lose another 30 pounds to get where I want to be.
On a more personal note:
I'm 62, for another few months at least, from southern AZ. Divorced. I'm mom to 3 adult children, "gamma" to two dogs and a cat. One child is a teacher (7th grade social studies/GEM/coach). One works for the athletic department of one of the State universities and we don't see each other nearly as often as I'd like. One of my children is SMI and unable to work at this time so lives with me. She's undergoing treatment that requires me to be with her for 8 hours afterwards for two days of each week. The remaining 3 weekdays I'm at work in a sedentary, sit on my @$$ job, although I try to get in at least some walking during each day. And sometimes I'll try to get some stretching or "dancing" done at my desk. Other than that, my primary exercise (besides walking the dog) consists of riding my bike on the weekends. I try to do some running, but am dealing with heel pain right now which makes that uncomfortable. Oh, and to be honest, "running" is a word I use pretty loosely. I run (slowly - about a 14 minute pace at best) and I walk even more slowly. But when I was out, I'd do 4-6 miles. My bike rides are usually about 20 miles at about 10-12mph. I'm a bit of a nerd. I enjoy reading, dancing, listening to music, and spending time with my friends. (I zoom monthly with friends from elementary school - my age is above, you can do the math to figure out how long we've known each other. I don't do math. Hahaha!) I use two spaces after periods and the Oxford comma with regularity. I'm verbose when writing and tend to ramble at the best of times, so I'll just shut up now. Nice to meet all of you.10 -
Hi! My name is Connor, I am 18 years old and I use he/they pronouns. This is my first month joining the UAC. I really need to lose weight. If you want to know anything, just let me know; I'm not good at introductions.8

Hello. I just signed up ready to start June 1st. First time in the group. Was wondering how do ypu log a bit? Can't really get faloroes for a lick..lol does that even count..?2

Hello everyone! I am so happy that I found this group. I joined MFP less than 3 weeks ago, but I have already slipped 4 days (i.e., not logged in or gone over my calorie count). So, the group accountability is exactly what I need. Thank you @RangerRickL for making it available!4

Hi everyone! I just joined and am looking forward to the added accountability for the month of June. I've been successful the last two months of my weight loss journey but, June will take me out of my comfort zone with travel for work and family. I'm already encouraged reading posts from many of you and am looking forward to this journey in June.5

Hello! I just joined this because I really need to be held accountable for my decisions! I have my little brother's grade 12 grad in June and will be travelling for it. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and would love more Sask friends, but I would also just love friends in general! Thank you for reading and I can't wait to start!5

RangerRick encourages us to log every BLT (bite, like and taste) so if you can't find a listing for "faloroes" then you may want to look for something in the MFP database that is similar. Or, if you made this from a recipe, then log your recipe and portion accordingly.
If I misunderstood your post, please let me know.1 -
I think @riaceltic intended to ask how to count calories for a lick .... and to answer the question we just need to make sure we are accounting for every nibble we take.1

Hello everyone,
I joined MFP a couple of weeks ago because I really needed to start tracking my calories. I started exercising regularly a couple of months ago, but actually gained a lot of weight. MFP has shown me that I was consuming too many calories. I am struggling to create a meal plan that will fit into my daily 1,500 calorie budget, and fuel me properly for my hard workouts.
I really need accountability to help me get on track to finally reach and maintain my goal weight. I look forward to participating in this challenge!

I'm back and really need the positive energy of this group! I am an overachieving working mom in my mid-50s and I love the outdoors. Although I enjoy the relaxation that running and hiking provides, I'd like to mix that up with something totally new for me like Bollywood dancing or pilates or disco rollerskating if that still exists, pool exercises, etc, to just make exercise more varied. Oh and I love food, especially everything BBQ.6
