Today, we want to start the morning by recognizing our May UAC Champions. While the foremost purpose of the Ultimate Accountability Challenge focuses on the UAC’s three pillars (daily exercise, tracking and calorie goal), perseverance is also highly valued. With that in mine, each month we want to recognize those members who stay engaged in the group but did not make the winner’s circle.
Congratulations to our May UAC Champions:

There are also many members who have persevered beyond a single month. A “newer” member @Calvin20874 joined in January and amazingly has yet to use a single pass. Bravo!! There are also many members here who have been in the UAC much longer than I have (I joined Oct 2020) and can attest to the benefits of that ongoing commitment.
Thoughts on the value of sticking with the UAC?11 -
@calvin20874 i think the fact that u hve had no pass days is sensational! I tried to hve no pass days for May and ended up hving 3! 😂 So im going to try again this month, please feel free to share ur secret!!4

Well done to all the champions. I only made it to the winners circle by the skin of my teeth and this month is already proving tricky.
Welcome to all the new members.
Perseverance really is the key to success. I've been with the UAC since January and recommend it.6 -
Having said all that above, I'm going to take another pass day. I've had a piece of cake just now and will shortly be enjoying a 3 course meal with dessert. I can't begin to estimate the calories.
However, tomorrow we journey home and I shall be more in control of my food choices.
I shall find out on Monday what damage 5 days of holiday eating has done!11 -

• Fitness Age/VO2max: 20/40

I nearly skipped training again. I’m unfortunately in the routine of staying home in the evenings after quarantine and winter doesn’t help. However I was giving the teenagers a lift so I couldn’t skip without a valid reason and being lazy isn’t valid. After I got ready she had to cancel due to school work but by then it was harder to justify not going when I was already dressed. Glad I went as always!!!
Food was in budget even with a treat.
Rabies vaccine first shot tomorrow (I’m going to look after some meerkats while friends are away next month and we may get some of them at work some time so the vaccine is a good option for me)
Back to work on Monday which will help with my routines and laziness in the evenings.
Oh and morning Jiu Jitsu classes start next week!!! So excited for that!10 -
3rd June
Home again after examining in Marseille. I managed 35 minutes of walking there, mostly between Metro and bus stops from hotel to venue and back. I got off the metro one stop early, which added 10 minutes. Once home, I forced myself to walk for another 25 minutes, so I did my 60 minutes!
Calories: Yes, stayed under. I was canny with the hotel breakfast, had brought my own lunch and had planned a simple supper at home.
Tracking: Yes, logged everything.
Didn't manage to play the piano, but did spend 15 minutes learning Italian and watched a Zoom on art and hair ...9 -

✅ - Exercise 20+ Minutes
✅ - Calories within budget
✅ - Tracked every detail I consumed
0/3 Pass Days Used
Personal Challenges Met: (3/30 days)
✅ - Net Carbs 30g or less (19g)
✅ - Protein 180g or more (191g)
✅ - Intermittent Fasted (21 hrs)
✅ - All Scheduled Workouts Completed? (3/3)- 27 mins Yoga
- 45 min Run
- 30 mins Strength (Push-Ups, Lat Pull-Downs, Palloff Press)
This week has been more challenging due to much less time, but so far have been able to do all workouts and stay on track.
Tomorrow could very well be too challenging and I may not get to fit in my strength workout.
My daughter is going under anaesthesia for dental work tomorrow afternoon and must be forbidden from all food and drink after 9am. So that will require some superhuman monitoring by my wife and I on top on the normal monitoring. After the surgery will be at least as difficult keeping her from trying to get around while disoriented on top of the normal chaos.
So that workout takes a backseat for sure! I don't mind missing the workout, more worried about the stress of tomorrow. Really looking forward to things going back to a more normal routine for everyone next week.12 -

Thought? No matter how difficult a day has been it is important to be accountable to yourself if not then no one else is important. UAC has helped me to be accountable and it is so supportive and NON JUDGMENTAL. This group of folks is so in tune with one another and offers so much encouragement to never give up on yourself to bad the world didn’t operate this way…..
Tracked logged and did 6 miles of spin in 22 minutes 😊 even made my water goal

"Failure is an event, not a person." Zig Ziglar.
Today I was able to walk a little further and a little faster than I've been able to since the surgery. I also did a little gentle yoga this morning. That made me happy! I appreciate this group and many times just knowing that I have to "report in" here at the end of the day keeps me from bingeing or doing something foolish during the day.10 -

All the Champions rock! All UACers are amazing, generally. I learn from all of you but it goes beyond exercise and nutrition.
While my interest lies in LEARNING about how to leverage/apply a positive mindset and consistent growth, UACers are LIVING both of these very laudable things out regularly.
You may not think you are, yet you are. So thank you for sharing your experiences. However openly or quietly.

Pass days remaining: 3
Exercise: 45 min circuit training class.
I can definitely tell I’m getting stronger which is nice, and I’m starting to see definition in my arms that I don’t think I’ve ever had before - despite the scale continuing to be a giant turd.
I honestly was thinking about taking June off from UAC but I realized with the funk I’m in, if I lost my accountability to this group I’d probably spiral into old habits and put weight on instead of taking it off. Sticking with UAC is key, honestly. Between this lovely group and the ring I’ve decided I’m getting myself in 6lbs when I hit 70lbs down - I think maybe I’ll break this plateau thing and have something new and pretty to stare at while I type all day.13 -
@calvin20874 - no passes since January? That is really impressive!
Sticking with the UAC - absolutely critical. Even if I use up my passes, i keep tracking and shift my personal goal. It’s created great habits.

Knowing I have to post my success or failure in meeting the 3 UAC daily helps keep me from slipping into bad habits. I still have days when I mess up, but they are a much less frequent occurrence than before joining UAC.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes - Walked for just over an hour!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Unfortunately, no. Even using net calories with my longer walk today, I went over my calorie budget.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes.
So, I guess this will be one of my 3 pass days, given that I have one "no"? Here's to eating smaller portions tomorrow!
